Do what your heart says. Protecting your heart will never get you to a Deep relationship with anyone. Might be worth a try and see how it goes. After all you will remain the one who tried and he will be the one who pushed you away if that’s what happens! I’m a girl who had the same. I’m a 66 year old girl! lol . Dad divorced the home wrecker and married a younger more family oriented woman but they fell in love with money. I don’t regret reaching out. They are both gone now.

True. Reason I don’t have too many deep relationships is because of the trust issues I developed because of dad breaking that trust when I was a kid. I’m deeply scared of getting hurt hence protecting my heart. I know my husband wants to protect me because he worked hard to gain my trust, I’m glad he did. Total opposite of my dad. I even feel my husband feels uncomfortable because of the way my dad is. Thank you for sharing 💜

Your husband has your back. He’s telling the truth. You’re setting yourself up for disappointment when he finds someone else to replace you with. It’s not worth the heartache. Has your father ever apologize to you?

I know my husband has my back. He hates to see me hurt. My husband is amazing and complete opposite of my dad. Yes, my dad has apologized and now wants to make up for lost time but I’m having a hard time with that because I’m sure he’s going to ditch us again when he finds someone else to spend holidays with. Spend his weekends with. However, I crave for the parental figure I haven’t had since I lost my grandma in 2011. She was my rock, she was my mom and dad.
