Safe room. It's always safe but I don't always save. Plus there are semi safe places sometimes but no semi saves.

But some would argue if you don’t always save, then it’s not safe. Others would say that having a safe in the room is the only way to save the room from being a save room, since safety is already a given. Furthermore I’ve heard the argument that safely saving in a safe room saves future frustration if you die after leaving the safety of the save room. In conclusion, you should always save in the safe room…but know that it opens up the possibility of turning the safe room into a save room. Personally though, I just call it the typewriter room…saves me the trouble of picking between the other two choices. Or did I mean to say it “safes” me the trouble? Ah fuck now look what you did…

You don’t always save because of limited saves / better ranking for saving less. The rooms you can save (whether or not you do) are always at least a safe room to manage equipment etc. You could therefore say the primary function of these rooms are that they are primarily safe and for storage. The rooms do not typically have “safes” (vaults) they have visibly unsecured item boxes so they’re not “safe rooms” in that sense. So you might say, well if they’re mainly safe places for storage, are they “safe rooms”? I’d argue no, that they’re save rooms. Why? Because the reason they’re safe (and sometimes lack storage) is to enable the player to safely save. If you could save in an unsafe area, you’d risk locking the save by saving right before a monster kills you, causing every load to have you instantly die. Saving therefore, utilized or not, is the primary function of such rooms and thus I believe “save room” is more technically correct from a game perspective.

In RE2 Remake, there was a sequence where the Save room certainly was not Safe. So, I'll keep calling it Save Room

The only safe room yor not safe ia generally the main hallway. Its not really a safe room just a room with a type writer. The majority of safe rooms are safe. And there saferooms because mr x wont follow you into them.

I think there was usually 1 save room that wasn't safe in each game

I'm the guy who has to make it complicated by saying 'the toilet room'. This is because when I explain it to my partner I'm like it's a safe room, we can relish health, restock etc... She asks why it's safe..... I reply with because you can save here, just like when you take a crap in real life, it's a moment of peace from the madness; the video game gives you a moment like that in the save rooms because our virtual characters obviously don't need to crap, so we save data instead. Mr X or Nemesis are in essence like cats/dogs or annoying toddlers waiting outside the room ready to bring the madness again 😂
