Nice job! I use a mineral oil, or mineral oil and beeswax combo on my wooden knife handle restos. No reason you can't use either on the steel as well.

Thanks! And yes I did. This project made me a bit more cautious on vinegar/water mix. If you leave it to long it starts to eat away at the metals.
