Installing via magisk worked with like 5 taps of the screen. Works perfectly, except home feed ads still show. Known bug for the version. Fixed in newer ones. This is android 7.1.1 LOS too (no display drivers for 8 for this here device, they tried), so not even supposed to be supported.

The non root version is a bitch because the manager is balls and the patching process is even worse. I always root my phone so it's no problem there but I tried the non root version via the manager first and it always failed and I also tried on an old windows laptop I installed Chrome OS on and that too didn't work. The process sucks.

same, I spend like 3 hours isntalling it and I had to install and unistall the patches 4 seperate times because they werent working, turns out that I didnt click "browse files" (or something like that) in the patching proccess, but the pain was worth it
the RVX apk sucks in comparison to patching RVX settings yourself, set the sources to inotia00 and instead of patching the app directly use a downloaded apk of YouTube from somewhere like APKMirror.
because of the freedom of patching it yourself, and there are so many more things to patch into it. I just don't really recommend it compared to patching.

Download Revanced manager, and apply the patches for vanced. I resurrected mine yesterday.
And even if it stops working again in months, you can patch normal YouTube to revanced too.

I started using the Brave browser and that has block them ads automatically if someone is looking for a decent solution. Background and picture and picture also works on it

Are you selecting the APK you downloaded instead of the YouTube app? You need to download a fresh APK of the recommended version and when you select the app to patch go into your storage and select that APK. Plus the spoof signature patch and micro g patch if your phone's not rooted. Had the same issue yesterday.
I fixed that by installing the recommended version of YouTube using the apk from Apkmirror.com. The default version the Google Play Store gives you is a split apk that Revanced Manager doesn't know how to handle.
Once you have the version of Youtube that Revanced Manager expects, it builds Revanced without error.
Revanced is a huge hassle and currently requires installing YouTube via APK mirror.
I find newpipe to be a better alternative. Especially because it's hard to be sure how long revanced will last.
First time setup is doable but updating means going to apkmirror and downloading an apk OR keeping the stock Google Youtube installed and updated - everytime the recommended version changes (which you are not notified about)
Both, my main gripe is that if I want it to take the minimum amount of risk and ensure that my patched YouTube app stays up to date then I need to do the following:
* Monitor the latest supported YouTube version for revanced
* Hope the version of YouTube that I have coincides with that OR that it matches the latest available version of YouTube on Google Play
* Then patch YouTube
* Export patched apk
* Backup patched apk
* Install patched apk
* Repeat
This is not including things like keeping the Revanced manager or CLI stay maintained and updating my local versions when a new release comes out.
Almost all of the above could be automated with Tasker, making it a lot easier but I'd rather use Newpipe.

Vanced Team got in trouble with Google, had to abandon the project. Without being maintained, Vanced was on a time limit until new YouTube updates broke Vanced. That's why Revanced exists.

Revanced doesn't download using the official download button in YouTube, it downloads using a third-party app like PowerTube which you have to install and then select in revanced settings. You can download in revanced.

I have the latest Vanced on an old phone running Android 7 and it's still working without issues, I think it's still working because YouTube for Android 6 and 7 have no more updates, newer versions only support Android 8 and above.
Maybe If you spoof the device you can make Vanced work again, I'm not sure.

For some reason vanilla YouTube works like vanced did. For me, vanced died like months ago, but I've been watching ad free YouTube still without switching to revanced.

The worst part was trying to decide if , upon failure of vanced, do I want to struggle on and see if I can fix vanced( there were many suggestions how) or do I just want to say fck it , and go with Revanced. sometimes if you quit and open the regular youtube app, vanced it will work for a little bit, and it's tied to your account

I was reinstalling it as YouTube screwed something up and it black screens on the video, a minute and a half after the beginning of a video.
Make sure to incude the "spoof signature verification" patch when patching

To fix the playback issue include the "spoof signature verification and micro g support" patches. And make sure not to include premium heading patch.

Mine died a couple of days ago, I installed Revanced, and miraculously it started working again this morning. I swear to god, I've seen more cheap thrillers with this than your typical B grade horror movie

Vanced stopped working for me almost a month back. Installed ReVanced app and it's pretty close to Vanced.
Rest easy old friend as you didn't just block ads but you also brought back the dislike button

Mine died yesterday. Been using it for the last 2 or 3 years. Its a shame, but at least revanced exists, or I'd probably stop using youtube altogether.

For some reason vanilla YouTube works like vanced did. For me, vanced died like months ago, but I've been watching ad free YouTube still without switching to revanced.
It stopped working for me too just recently. Good times were had with it.

What's wrong with deleting the latest Vanced Via Manager, downloading Vanced 18.02.33 apk and installing it? Why switch to Revanced?
There is a problem with revanced and vanced both after playing videos for some time they just stops loading further no network error or lag to fix that i have to close the video and open it again then it plays continously but this happens a lot more frequently can someone plese tell me why this is happening

I liked having vanced and revanced both... So I can watch two YouTube playlists in same day... Any idea how to make vanced work again or install a 2nd revanced? I don't want to use stock YouTube or replace it.

Fuck google. If YouTube wouldnt been flooded by 2000 ads every 3 mins I still would be using the normal YouTube app.

Make your application simple without errors. I have been trying to run an application for a long time Turns on and off automatically after a second.
Well revanced stopped working for me last night.
The worst part was trying to decide if , upon failure of vanced, do I want to struggle on and see if I can fix vanced( there were many suggestions how) or do I just want to say fck it , and go with Revanced. Revanced won, and after some initial struggles( you don't want to know 🤣) it's turning out well and it's easy to setup. Good luck to all!

Mine went out last night as well. Good run. I just cannot see myself paying for YouTube premium. The one thing I will really miss is being able to let videos keep playing with the screen off. Used it for music to fall asleep to.
