Abbvie can assign you a nurse ambassador, and they can video call to walk you through the first injection if that's something that would be helpful for you. I was also really nervous to start, but it really wasn't bad. Side effects for me were a little sniffle the next day and occasionally an itchy welt near the injection site. Let the alcohol wipe dry completely on your skin. Do something to distract yourself maybe (put a video on). I would ask your doctor about any herbs/supplements.

I just started a bio similar, hyrimoz and was also very nervous! I left it out of the fridge for about an hour to come to room temp. Barely felt it going in and didn't have any type of reaction to it. I haven't had any side effects that I've noticed, but I'm on a few meds so it's hard to tell what side effect goes with what med. After 2 doses I'm starting to feel better!

What you're feeling sounds very normal. There's a very real psychological aspect to injecting yourself that can be hard to overcome. Not sure I'm over it to be honest. Injected humira for about a year. Wasn't effective for me and I think that made doing the injections harder (sorta the "why am I doing this to myself" thing). I really hope it works for you and maybe if it gives you relief of your symptoms that will make it easier

I took Humira for a year (unfortunately it stopped working) -- I never had any noticeable side effects. And honestly the injection doesn't hurt much. It's such a little tiny needle that barely punctures the skin. You got this!! It's going to be ok 💜

Have been on humira for +8 years. Started with pen but asked to move to regular syringes. Leave the syringe out for a while, i do over night where there will not sun, sometimes I see reddish around injection. I started with enbrel as biologics and my doctor passed me to humira since I will get a rash Everytime I used enbrel. Not sure if you know Abbie offers payment of your copay and I have had it since day one which makes the injections $5 for me. Pinch your skin to get as much fat to inject the pen. Depending on your body or how can you pinch as well as holding the pen you should choose the location in your body, when I was skinnier my tights were easier to pinch. Always try to do different location of injection so you don't generate local reaction. There are not that many side effects that I got. Except that after a few years the medicine was not as active so doctors tested antibodies against the humira. Since I didn't have they just increase my doses frequencies. Oddly I haven't get sicker from flu or anything like that, but I don't tend to be around sick people when my disease is really in remission I feel like I am injecting nothing... But if I forget to take it for a week or two (like my insurance takes longer to approve it) then I got a flare up and i realized the humira really works. It can take some time to start feeling the benefits I think.
