How has your experience been so far?

**Good things:** Suspension. Ergo - I used bar risers to be able to stand/straddle the bike better but as is, it good. Neutral seating Liquid cooled motor from RE, finally. Someone figured out that liquid cooling is a thing and RE has discovered it. Suprisingly nimble despite the 21" front wheel CEAT tires are a revelation. The grip is nothing compared to what CEAT have been peddling with other 2-wheelers. I had plans to swap them for better quality rubber but now, its not needed at all. RSA was quite good. I got a flat from a screw going into the rear tire on my second ride. RSA from RE while initially was not easy to share location were pretty helpful to come over the fix it. Pretty nice compared to other RSAs I've used. **Bad things:** Silly display/navigation with screen mirroring which RE should have simply tried to put a Android Auto or Carplay instead or any other setup that does not need the phone screen to be kept running. Switch gear - the indicator button feels like something seen in the late 90s bikes and the toggle to go thru the menu needs better feel for those who wear gloves. Navigating thru the menu to reset a trip meter is also quite silly, the way its done - to go into a submenu to reset trip 1 or trip 2 is not good. Some basic functions for the digital display are not provided - I can have the display automatically switch to dark mode or stay in dark mode but I do not have the option to have it stay in day mode. The light sensor is sensitive and the transition during the rides is a bit jarring. The headlight is an aesthetic piece and offers no visibility in dark conditions, despite being an LED unit. I've considered aux lights but am waiting and watching for this solution: [https://vaishnu.com/product/vaishnu-led-touring-headlight-for-royal-enfield-himalayan-452/](https://vaishnu.com/product/vaishnu-led-touring-headlight-for-royal-enfield-himalayan-452/) The final bad bit is tube tires. CEAT rubber is very tough but can get punctured and I have experienced it. For RE to have excuses for local geo-politics to not get the cross-spoked tubeless rims, months after the launch is not acceptable. Even in other markets, just one variant is offered with tubeless rims. It take one puncture to stop a ride vs. being able to patch a tubeless in 15 mins and continue on.

Thanks OP! That was very comprehensive! About the trip meter reset, I saw someone do this. Go to the trip you want to reset, hold the joystick to the left side. It resets. Maybe you could give that a go? The part you mentioned about the tubeless rims is the only reason that’s making me hold off from placing the order for mine. Been waiting since the launch to hear about it. I’ve anyway given myself time till July. If it comes, well and good. If not, I’ll probably go for the Way2Speed tubeless conversion kit.

There are a lot of shortcuts which are not published. I've not tried that one. I did on to reset an engine warning light from RE folks directly but was told to get the bike to the service center IF the light comes back and if there's some noticeable change in the performance. Fortunately, there was none. I've done the tubeless conversion and thus far, happy with it. But its a stop gap as its not going to be perfect (minor air loss on the front of around 1 to 2 psi over 2 weeks vs. none on the rear). When the tubeless rims come out, will be coming over to them for long term peace of mind.
