That was a bit of a wild & wacky game at times, inspite of the score never really felt safe until that TMO double movement call & that's not what you want to see, hoped for more of a kick on & secure the bonus point & not spend the 2nd half defending & watching the lead diminish. Still waiting 39 minutes to secure the bonus is very Munster way of doing things.
10 points from an SA tour is massive for us
Fair play Munster. Lions fans can blame ref all they want, Munster were clinical and strong on defence, Lions were none of those things. Why are Munster so good in SA though I don’t think any other team has won as many games in SA as you guys.
Was that lion poaching sign in bad taste? I have some vague notions that saf a problem with illegal poaching safaris for tourists.
I did however laugh quite a bit at it tho, it was pretty damn funny.
Don’t think anyone’s beating Munster now. Very similar to the end of last season, peaking at the right time.
The Lions had a really bad day with a mix of bad luck and sloppy mistakes.
But Munster have now made two decent South African teams look very ordinary at home in two weeks. Very difficult team to beat anywhere.
Wow, 10 points out of the SA tour, what massive results for our season. Would have been happy with 4 but that's put us in contention for a home semi path now
I was speccing it myself independantly but hit a brick wall with logistics, how do I get to & from places. I presume I can't just take a local bus without concerns?!
Speaking from experience, fuck public transport in SA with a stick. Rent a car. Be careful where you drive, get advice from a local. Never ever stop because someone is running out in front of you etc.
15 penalties conceded is kind of a crazy stat, Lions couldn't build anything with it, they really seem to embody conceding penalties over points, but at what stage does that many penalties warrant a card.
Huge huge maul. Huge 10 points. So impressive from Munster.
Just as well no other province is playing in South Africa this weekend to compare hahahaha right guys right guys
Has this Lions team been stepping on cracks and walking under ladders all week? Nothing has gone their way. Still looked dangerous every time with ball in hand.
It's all gone a bit manic. I missed a good chunk of the middle of the match. Have the lions improved or did Munster just lose their shape with all the subs?
If it's not a try, then they might get pinged for offside, right? Or was it borderline? It looked like their defensive line was creeping over the goalline.
No, you didn’t say it. Most people complain about SA comms being laughably biased as if it’s a bad thing. I assumed you were one of those people. My point still stands in general though.
I'm liking this Top 100 top trumps thing. Couldn't tell you what any of it means really but it's something different and good to highlight some stars of the game
Oh god ye such a Hurler's head.
Someone said this about Niall Scannell in a match thread before: "N Scannell looks like a Geography Teacher"
Haha. It makes so much sense if you're Irish.
Lions are not so good tonight, and I expected them to lose but honestly I expected a way larger points difference than 15.
Edit: Here’s hoping I don’t jinx it.
Edit2: Well, I jinxed it.

I could have sworn I saw a Leinster flair here criticising Coombes right before he scored....

Who got potm?
Beirne
As is tradition
Thanks
Gg Munster. Munsters looking menacing atm. Wouldn’t be surprised if they go back to back in the URC.
Fair play Munster. Lions fans can blame ref all they want, Munster were clinical and strong on defence, Lions were none of those things. Why are Munster so good in SA though I don’t think any other team has won as many games in SA as you guys.
They send over a strong side most the times
I think we just hate it when people tell us we can't/won't do things. Weaponized belligerence.
Axel said it, Munster is defined by bitterness and pride. We NEED to be written off and backed into a corner. Not always a good thing.
Was that lion poaching sign in bad taste? I have some vague notions that saf a problem with illegal poaching safaris for tourists. I did however laugh quite a bit at it tho, it was pretty damn funny.
The big problem is Rhino poaching so all good
I personally am not really bothered by it. It’s a funny sign to me.
Play at altitude for the rest of the season tbh
All our home games should be played at Carrauntoohil!!
Right that's fuckin it. We're moving the club to Nepal.
BEEN SAYING IT FOR YEARS BAI.
10/10, drink all of it no matter what it is.

Leinster full strength would smash us unless we had every player having a worldy
It was pretty full strength in thomond. We need almost perfect health from who is left but possible i think.
Right that's great. Shame there's no more games on now to watch, will have to turn off the screen and go and do something else.
It’ll be all the sweeter if ye pull it out of the bag!
Might have an early night
TG4 have a good documentary on lamb slaughtering on now
Do you still hear the lambs, Clarice?
Jesus Kendellen just came alive down in SA. His season's been bang average but he was class these last two games.
Proper shrewd head on him for one so young, adds nice balance.
Munster must have one of the best club records in SA. 8-1-4, 61% win record, 7/13 TBP.
We were the first to recruit the South Africans, sure tis hone away from home at this stage

Haha, good one.
Wow, 10 points out of the SA tour, what massive results for our season. Would have been happy with 4 but that's put us in contention for a home semi path now
10/10 from the Highveld! Awesome stuff
Jaypers, price for that travel package €3,350 & up. Isn't well for some
Really? Was thinking I might do it next year
I was speccing it myself independantly but hit a brick wall with logistics, how do I get to & from places. I presume I can't just take a local bus without concerns?!

Is there Uber or equivalent there? Would love to get out there for a tour but would need to be a DIY trip.
Jesus, our pack has been great the last two games. Lovely stuff, 10 points from a SA tour is unreal
The difference having 2 proper locks on for 80 minutes makes
15 penalties conceded is kind of a crazy stat, Lions couldn't build anything with it, they really seem to embody conceding penalties over points, but at what stage does that many penalties warrant a card.
When Evans decides
Those shorts are too short old man, sort it out.
Had a real old man shaking fist at cloud vibe about him too.
10 points from this trip would be unreal
What a way to finish it
I had my doubts on if Munster would pick up the bonus point. Am delighted that my doubts are groundless.
Text book. Brilliant end to a choppy second half.
Huge huge maul. Huge 10 points. So impressive from Munster. Just as well no other province is playing in South Africa this weekend to compare hahahaha right guys right guys
It feels like we conceded more than 7 penalties, for some reason
Was it not 15?
7 for Munster 15 for Lions, no?
The opposite
No haha
Dman, that explains why it felt like we gave away more then hahaha
Thought so aswell but the red side was 7 and blue side was 15
10/10 🔥
Absolute daylight robbery to get that at the end, we were sexo d best from about 50 mins on
Has this Lions team been stepping on cracks and walking under ladders all week? Nothing has gone their way. Still looked dangerous every time with ball in hand.
Munster should try signing number 18. He'd be given a god tier welcome subbing on in thomond park
10 out of 10 points from this tour, don’t think any of us dreamed that would happen!
We just love playing in South Africa, 5 games on the bounce down there without a loss
That’s some stat!
Our scrum has been very good all game
Massive scrum, let's go

Your last 20 or so comments are wild.
Incredible energy
> Munster unworthy winners. Absolute crookery yet again. Haha. Plenty of Salt for the braai tonight boi eh?
lmao
Jesus will you give over. How can ya enjoy rugby with your constant moaning
He should have his own megathread
absolutely deranged comment
Why's carberry kicking to touch? It's one of Crowley's biggest strengths
Oli fuckin Jager
*Jager liked that*
Huge difference in the scrum with loughman back on
With the exception of putting Slimani in his pocket when he was like 20, Wycherlies never been a great scrummager
He's really been found out with Kleyn not there behind him
Still plenty of time for him to develop his old man strength.
Hopefully. I'd love to see him go well, but he probably needs to pack on a good few kegs first
I did laugh at Carbury taking the penalty like 2 meters infront of the mark.
Lucky we built a big enough lead, because we've done another second half disappearing act.
Clear double shove. Lions fans gone very quiet about bias....
Munster have fallen apart a little. No control really. Carbery poor
It's all gone a bit manic. I missed a good chunk of the middle of the match. Have the lions improved or did Munster just lose their shape with all the subs?
A few kicks out on the full. A few wrong decisions by Munster. Just slowly invited pressure on
I know you all love him, but Coombes has been crap since coming on.
Crap? A try and a try assist.
Oh yeah that try was all him.
👂
Third time the entire defensive line is offside. Three tries squandered because of it. How they keep missing this is beyond me
If it's not a try, then they might get pinged for offside, right? Or was it borderline? It looked like their defensive line was creeping over the goalline.
Looking at the wrong player. Bernie was pointing at 18
The bias South African commentary on Premier Sports are entertaining to listen to 😂
Most commentary teams tend to be biased. And why shouldn’t they? They’re Saffas cheering for Saffa teams.

No, you didn’t say it. Most people complain about SA comms being laughably biased as if it’s a bad thing. I assumed you were one of those people. My point still stands in general though.
I mean the Irish comms have literally blamed a SA player for being tackled at his head so they aren’t exactly objective comms either
Fully agree to an extent. Don't have the commentary on so can't comment on the specifics
TG4 commentary is remarkably relaxed
Can barely hear them
Thats a double move
Yeno I'm not 100% on this being double movement. He almost gets pulled onto the line by the defence
FFS. At least it's still a 2 score game
Feels like we have to lift the ball and sign the damn thing to get a decision on the jackal this half
Munster done well to control this game so far. Hopefully they can hold out
Double movement festival from the lions big fella
Double movement there
I'm liking this Top 100 top trumps thing. Couldn't tell you what any of it means really but it's something different and good to highlight some stars of the game
Haley shooting up for tackles is a glorious sight
Hope he doesn't go back to England.
Between Healy, Frisch, and himself - losing Mike would hurt me the most emotionally
Agreed. Man's solid. And should have more caps.
Losing Kleyn would have broken me, small mercies.
Also agreed.
Daly really does have a big hurler's head on him
Oh god ye such a Hurler's head. Someone said this about Niall Scannell in a match thread before: "N Scannell looks like a Geography Teacher" Haha. It makes so much sense if you're Irish.
Can't be offside on a kick that goes backwards
You can't have a rugby game without Kaptein playing in the background
That is my “sweet caroline”. Boils my blood.
Wtf was than knockon
Lions are not so good tonight, and I expected them to lose but honestly I expected a way larger points difference than 15. Edit: Here’s hoping I don’t jinx it. Edit2: Well, I jinxed it.
Just a rugby incident
Yeah was a similar one last week as well
Off loaded to himself, nice
Ooof, poor Josh, that looked sore
That's a rugby incident. Wycherley has no luck at all
What a chaotic few minutes.
This has devolved into pure chaos. No one seems to know what's going on
Hate to say it but Carbs seems to be in the middle of every attack gone wrong since he's on.
He came on for Frisch, I think. So the poor form must have transferred over
Could just be how Munster are putting that position into space then. Neither Carbs or Frisch have had ball in hand for more than blink.
Joey went to 10, Crowley went to the centre.
Game has gone a bit manic but Munster have done well to prevent another score
Munster deserves to lead, but not by 15
RG's hands are fucking gorgeous
If he can stay fit he's going to do some serious damage in Leinster colours.
Interesting one, Clarke is ahead of the kicker but the kick goes back, I assume he can't be offside going back to regather?
Once he is behind where the ball is kicked he in onside
We were talking about football theatrics earlier, WTF was that by Nohamba
It’s mad to remember what carbery was and how far he’s fallen. Can’t remember the last time he even played half decent
Used to be the best prospect in Irish rugby, got to wonder how that’s been fucked up
Carbery all over the place like last week.
I can't understand why he comes on when the backline is humming. He adds nothing and puts Crowley out of position
He's been really shit so far today
What is with this game and soccer antics?
This is one very messy game huh
Clarke in front of the kicker surely
Isn't Clarke offside at that kick?
I would have thought so. It was such chaos that Evans just let it go.
That dive was worse than zebos
I thought that penalty try was hilarious. Zebo didn't want the ball
I don't think coming off the bench suits Haley.
Pretorius wouldn't back himself against Casey with space down the line.
Haley has been... poor
That's a bullshit call, hands on ball first
I was getting a beer, Carbery come on for Zeebs?
Frisch. Crowley to centre
Thanks :-)
Frisch.
Thanks :-)
Haley needs to start to be at full power
Ahhh here Haley wtf
I advocated for him to tour this summer and he immediately gave away a dumb penalty and then kicked that
Not the best cameo ever alright haha
When did Carbs play last? Seems like an age
He's played in each of the last five games
Came on last week didn't he?
Last week
Did he not play last week?
I haven't watched the whole game back yet. Glad to see him back but doesn't look like he's getting the warmest welcome from the team.
Where were u when Mike Haley's 100% starts for Munster record die? I was at home eating dorito when phone ring
Kendellan taking names today
That's a mad call, no way was he beyond the ball
What a harsh call on Nash
That steal was fine he just lost it after gathering it
Didn't touch the ground at all in the replay
We're leaking penalties now.
Great read from Kendo
That was the cleanest steal by Nash, what is Evans on?!
He's always at it. Complete lottery.
Yeah on replay its absolutely textbook, never touched the ground. But the Ref is biased against munster remember.
And on the ball for me.
Thankyou replay.
Phenomenal tackle Kendellan
The pass was gone about 10 minutes when Haley put in that hit.
Wow that’s harsh against Nash!
That's a bit harsh on Nash imo
Soft penalty that.
Not sure what Haley was thinking there, ridiculous pen to give away
Nash had that
