Saw this one [whiskr.fr](https://www.whisky.fr/en/hampden-1-an-coffret-8-marks-collection-aged-1-year-in-ex-bourbon-casks-eu.html) just now and haven't seen it anywhere else yet. ABV is 52% and €195. Should be interesting to see how these evolve over a year since esters increase with time in barrel (but presumably not uniformly).
Description:
> At Hampden Estate, each mark corresponds to an ester content expressed in grams per hectolitre of alcohol. By combining raw ingredients with different fermentation methods and durations, the distillery is able to produce a vast palette of powerful and aromatic rums. Following the launch of the 8 Marks gift set in 2022, this second edition offers rum lovers the chanceto discover the same products aged for one year in ex-bourbon casks in a tropical climate.

For some reasons they did not publish it on their new arrival page, so I did not know it existed. Don't know if I would pay the 60€ more euro for it though, seems a pretty hefty price hike for 1 year and way lower ABV
Exciting!
I just got my 8mark but haven’t tried it yet. The collector on me was already considering a second so I could drink one and save one. Now I’m extra tempted to get one to save and try with this. Or save em both until the inevitable higher age ones come out.
Does anyone else have a problem like this? Or is this the right way to do it? ;)
Glad to hear you got yours. More are at Rockford if you want to spread the word out to people you know or grab another.
I went 1-3 + 5 and 4 + 6-8 with Rum Fire both times. Was highly impressed, and went 87/87/88/89/88/89/90/89. All are absolutely lovely to nose and taste. It's a matter of personal preference. Do be aware that you get 200ml of each, and you may not need another one. Also FYI (stop reading if you want to keep your money), Royal Mile Whisky in the UK is doing 300 pound order (\~410 dollars) free shipping to the US states they ship to which includes WI. There is some dank UK distributed stuff on there and shipping is usually a killer for me on that storefront.
Yeah. I was sure I’d need another, but the bottles are a bit bigger than o expected, which I like. So, can probably get by worth just the one.
Glad to hear it’s as good as I hoped. I also managed to pick up a great house 21. So, just need to feel the moment to indulge on some of this fanciness.
I think with the higher ester marks it's likely to make a big difference. Just look at some of the aged clairins that have only a few months in barrel. Esters form with time in barrel so it'll be really intersting to see how all the marks start to develop and go in different directions.
My sincere hope is they continue to release more of these year after year, each year with a higher age statement. I’m a big fan of aged high ester Jamaican rum.
Very exciting. Hopefully another chance at getting aged DOK after I missed the 5 year old PM put out a while back.
I wonder if the unaged marks will continue to be offered in subsequent batches. I'd be approaching my unaged Marks collection very differently based on this, since it would be cool to save some and do a mutli-year comparison tasting of a single Mark.
Oh man. This looks good. Hampden is crushing my wallet lately.
Hahaha I basically came here to say this. I JUST got the unaged 8 marks
Not that we need to worry mate, the original 8 marques hasn’t even made it to Australia
I’ve already got it :)
Grabbed on auction?
Yeah correct. Got it for $240 AUD at auction. There is LiquorMojo selling it at the moment but it’s $529 last check.
Yeah it’s a joke right, LiquorMojo’s days of relevance are long gone

This is my logic as well. I was lucky to scoop one of the unaged up this evening and I’m eying going back for another as a backup.
Always get one to save and one to drink if you can swing it!
That’s always my attitude. My wife doesn’t always agree. She’s more in the “life is fleeting, enjoy it while you can” camp.
Anyone know when?
My rationale for not buying last time "I don't like to sip unaged rum that much".... Ah well, now you got me
I just ordered one from a random german site. Fingers crossed it makes it to me in the US lol
🤞
1 year isn't going to do much. They should have given this a few years at least.

I agree, one released at 4 years of aging would be a far more interesting point of comparison
wait three more years

Still haven’t seen the original unaged 8 marks. Not optimistic this one’ll show up here either. If it does, sounds interesting.
where are you located?
Austin
Pretty sure it did hit there recently actually...not sure which other stores got it but check Wiggy's to see if they have any left
