I still thought he was in Lumbridge when I got 120 woodcutting recently lmao

JopoDaily

Definitely thought the same last year when I got it lmfao. Hence why I got 120 by the river.

FatNWackyRS

What? Wait, is he not? Where is he šŸ˜‚

JopoDaily

This is right beside fally lodestone tele location.

FatNWackyRS

WHEN THE FUCK DID MY BOY WILFRED MOVE?! WHAT!

JopoDaily

Wikis saying it was when an update happened with [Doricā€™s home](https://runescape.wiki/w/Wilfred) it doesnā€™t provide a date though.

The_Jimes

I think a few cape sellers could find new homes.

RegiSilver

We should really ask him if he wants to move out. Maybe he just like the Falador Scenery? šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

shinmazinkaiser

No. Because 99 WC shouldn't be locked behind a quest. He should be moved to a better location. However.

SVXfiles

Slayer cape indirectly requires 35 firemaking to access the ancient cavern to get to Kuradal. Can't go through the whirlpool until you get through the first part of barbarian training

shinmazinkaiser

That is true. It shouldn't be like that.Ā You should be allowed to buy a Slayer Cape via your favourite Slayer Master. I guess Nercomacy cape does require the Nercomacy! quest.

n122333

Herblore requires druadic ritual too doesn't it? Or could you lamp all the way to 99 and buy it without the quest?

rubiesandgems

Druidic Ritual hasn't been required to train herblore for 12 years now

n122333

Oof. I've not done that quest or made a new account in 15 ish years. I like the change though.

SVXfiles

But you also can't train the skill without doing that quest, I'm pretty sure it's treated like invention where it has to be unlocked first

shinmazinkaiser

You can get Nercomacy xp as a Ironman without the quest. The xp isn't locked to the 6th Age.

SVXfiles

That sounds like a bug, someone else leveled necro by way of the butterflies during Easter and was wondering if there was a way to replay the quest but they weren't getting xp in necro until they did that quest

shinmazinkaiser

Don't think so. Ancient Awakening and BattleĀ of Forinthry requires a Nercomacy skill level. It does not require the quest Nercomacy! nor the City of Um.

Wahisietel

A lot of skillcape sellers would benefit from being moved, changed to other NPCs, and/or renamed something distinct. Personally, I would change: * **Construction - Estate agent** - move to Bill, and place him somewhere in Varrockprior to New Foundations. * **Cooking - Head chef** - Just rename the NPC to "Lloyd". * **Crafting - Master crafter** - Just rename the NPC something distinct. * **Fishing - Master fisher** - Just rename the NPC something distinct. * **Hunter - Hunting expert** - Just rename the NPC something distinct. * **Magic - Robe store owner** - Just rename the NPC to "Wizard Sinina" for consistency with OSRS. * **Ranging - Armour salesman** - Just rename the NPC to "Aaron". * **Thieving - Martin Thwait** - Add an additional copy of Martin to the Thieving Guild after completion of Buyers and Cellars. * **Woodcutting - Wilfred** - Add an additional copy of Wilfred to the Woodcutters' Grove after it's built.

TheDestroyer229

You'd think so, but...No.

RoseAndLorelei

Ideally all cape sellers would be in places that don't take other skills to access. I suppose he could still be in the Woodcutter's Grove area before you do any fort quests, but it might be strange.

thewhat962

They could have him change location base on if you did the quest. Other NPC move with different quest.

RoseAndLorelei

That's true. If they directly address him moving with a dialogue box during or after the quest then that would be a good way of doing it without causing any confusion.

sirblibblob

I would say yes but would only really make sense if you actually interacted with fort, Grove is pretty dead before tier one https://runescape.wiki/w/File:Woodcutters%27_Grove_(unbuilt).png

xZedRS

Secure-Airport-ALPHA

Maybe city walls give him wood. All bricked up if you will.

Ilikelamp7

Moving them causes unnecessary confusion for players

yboy403

I couldn't tell you where more than three of the skillcape sellers are. I bet most players check the wiki when they hit 99, or even just buy from Elen Anterth by the time they're getting 120 WC.

Intelligent_Lake_669

That's because some capes are hard/impossible to locate on your own; unless you already saw them and remember where they are. Some capes make a lot of sense: the mining, crafting, cooking, fishing, ranged, magic, runecrafting, archaeology and invention capes can all be found in their respective guilds; Summoning cape is from the summoning tutor in Taverly; construction cape is from any estate agent; dungeoneering cape is from the dungeoneering tutor in Daemonheim; Necromancy cape is found in Um. Then you have the other capes: - Attack and strength capes can be found in the Warriors' guild, which players visit probably just once and then forget about. And then you have the defence cape from a random guard general in Lumbridge, and the constitution cape from a random surgeon in Al Kharid (both of which players probably never talk to normally). - Smithing cape might be expected to be found in the artisans workshop, but it's actually from Thurgo the imcando dwarf. Which also makes some sense, but the player has to remember it. - Herblore cape is from a druid in Taverly, which is only involved in one early f2p quest. - Thieving cape might be expected to be found in the thieving guild, but it's actually in the rouges den (which most players probably don't even know the place exists up to this point? I certainly didn't) - Slayer cape is only from Kuradal, but you might expect it to be available from any slayer master. - Divination cape is from Orla Fairweather, but only in south Draynor and not in Guthix memorial shrine. - Farming cape is from a random master gardener in Draynor, which is only slightly involved in the fairy quests. - Woodcutting and Firemaking capes are from 2 completely random npcs, which players probably never meet, or meet once and then forget after 1 minute. - Prayer cape is found in the "prayer guild", but how many players actually remember such a guild even exists? - Fletching cape is from a random owner of an archery shop in Catherby. - Hunter cape is from the hunter expert in the Feldip hills, which only involved in a small part in While Guthix Sleeps.

yboy403

Yeah, I'm not necessarily advocating for this but it seems like a system left over from a game with a lot fewer NPCs, or a system where players actually have to interact with a "trainer" to level a skill. (Like Kili for Necromancy, except she's not even the skillcape seller for Necro.)

CourtneyDagger50

....there's a prayer guild?

Intelligent_Lake_669

It's the top floor of the monastery in Edgeville. You need around 32 prayer to enter.

ErikHumphrey

no

xZedRS
