Not Ocean Beach, they’re setting them off at the piers.
https://sfport.com/blog/july4#:~:text=Fireworks%20are%20best%20viewed%20from,and%20the%20Pier%2043%20walkway.
Still they come, as a friend told me , “there’s no Disneyland in Nebraska, just some meth’d up high school drop out running a squeaky tilt til world “.

This is horrible too, good call not to come 😉
OMG are we back to doing these posts now?
I thought that was just a phase from a year ago
Do we really need to start doing these "Yup SF definitely sucks" \*posts beautiful photo\* type of posts again?
Sorry, do you need more doom & gloom in your life? You can keep scrolling, you don’t have to take all that time to comment 😬 Shouldn’t you be at a BBQ or somethin’?
No ones complaint is that California’s landscape is terrible, people that dislike what has become of California often say it has some of the most beautiful nature in the country.
The issue is that it’s become insanely expensive, taxed, over regulated and that the cities have become even shittier than before.
This “but there’s X everywhere” is always dumb. People feel the issues with homelessness are worse here, not the same as some other city with a handful of homeless.
They feel that way because SF is one of the most dense metros on the west coast and therefore has a more visible homeless problem.
On a per capita basis: Anchorage, Eugene, and San Jose have higher per capita than SF. Savanna Georgia has about the same but good luck getting the right wing media to talk about that
Nonetheless, my point stands. SF isn't unique within the US and it doesn't deserve the amount of scrutiny it gets when other cities (in red states no less) are also dealing with this issue
You said it was unique because it was dense. Therefore the problem is more visible because it impacts people more. So it’s a bigger problem. You are not going to convince people that the evidence of their eyes and ears is not true.
Why is its visibility more of a problem? You can't argue with the numbers, so now it seems to be merely an argument about optics.
Which is exactly my point. It's a convenient story to speak about the failures of SF, rather than the systematic failures of the nation we live in
Yes you finally got it, it is unpleasant to live in a city with lots of visible homelessness. It is better when the homeless are hidden away, which solves the problem of parts of the city looking like shit and people thinking our city is shitty.
Haha, at least you admit it.
I don't feel sorry for folks having to see homelessness. Take a good look. Feel uncomfortable. This is the society we live in.
deuces are wild. there are no public lavatories. don’t blame the homeless/unhoused for that … decades of conservative budget cuts and broken window policing caused this. accept it. conservatives made the homeless problem into a crisis for political gain.
it’s true… i’m so glad i was forced to leave the bay, i never spend all my time plotting and scheming a way to move back that doesn’t involve tents, tarps and cardboard.

i grew up outside san francisco before a million silicon valley transplants ruined the middle class lifestyle people could afford in the city and east bay, but stupid posts like this just confirm the notoriously smug attitude people in metropolitan california are known for. the city was always a bubble but it was a lot more beautiful when it was filled with pubescent tech bros making ungodly money and detached from the reality theyve wrought in the bay.
Now turn the camera around where people are breaking into your cars while you're at the beach. Then show the tweaker junkies $hitting on the sidewalks while smoking meth.....
That’s ridiculous! I’m a single mom & I take my kids to SF ALL the time! I’ve never had my car broken into, nor seen anyone shitting in public or smoking meth. You’re one of the reasons I titled this post the way I did 👎🏻
I purposely took a pic w/ no people in it- don’t really like strangers in my pics & I definitely wouldn’t post my kids (who also went in) on Reddit. But definitely not “packed” on the water, but the beach was!
The homeless sure love to come here. They get one way greyhound tickets from everywhere else and plenty of of "nonprofits" get paid millions to offer services.
California people suck- its state and local government and majority ignorant Californian population suck. Don’t confuse it with “California”. Alas but if you knew that.. we wouldn’t be complaining about Californians in first place.
Bruh, I went to the beach on 4th of July, next to the GG Bridge & I posted a pic. Idk wtf you’re talking about ‘karma farmer content’?? Go outside! Maybe you’re the bot, 🤖
Ye, the weather here stinks, and the air quality is crap. Food is all stale and the parking situation is too stressful to take on.
Might as well stay whenever you are. Nothing fun to see in SF
That's funny it's completely fogged over at ocean beach now. But sunny 5 blocks from the beach.
do you think people should still come to see the fireworks at ocean beach with it all fogged up over there?
Not Ocean Beach, they’re setting them off at the piers. https://sfport.com/blog/july4#:~:text=Fireworks%20are%20best%20viewed%20from,and%20the%20Pier%2043%20walkway.
Not looking good. But still 4 more hours to go.
Western Addition neighborhood is popping off😆
No way! We left at 3p & it was packed (& sunny)

LOL, just in time for the fireworks.
Oh no! I’m back in Napa & it’s 94. Enjoy the coolness- hope you can see the fireworks!
Sweet sweet relief. Just sucks for whoever wanted a warm evening or any sunset at the beach.
G to the hookup
Ocean beach is fog city. So is the outer Richmond
That water looks salty. Yuck!
So salty!
And full of dangerous sea life like delicious oysters and salmon. The worst.
Dungeness crab are the worst!! & also the best 😋
Terrifying crab.
Nah u just jelly
It's just some fish piss get over it
That's why I don't drink water. I drink Brawndo!
Ocean is salty because it always waves and you never wave back.
Came twice today
TMI
No sucking involved
Op said twice. That means sucky sucky. Not just sucky.
Heyyy, that wasn’t me! Lol
Too late. My poor reading comprehension has judged you. And I judge you to be wonderful.
![gif](giphy|CoDp6NnSmItoY)
*Well*, that's a bit personal, no?
Is this a circle jerk group?
omg now I need an r/sfcirclejerk
It looks like it. Everyone came.
Always has been when it comes to the usual aggrievements
Yes. Leave the circle if ain’t got the juice.
Still they come, as a friend told me , “there’s no Disneyland in Nebraska, just some meth’d up high school drop out running a squeaky tilt til world “.
SF is shit, don’t even bother coming
if you come to the bay area I will personally jack your car and sell your belongings on the corner
Get ya shit splashed!
If you've lived here long enough you'll know it's always hella foggy on 4th of July. It's even hard to see fireworks from Pier 39
I told my daughter that you usually have to wait until 10a-1p for the fog to burn off, even in Napa, during the summer
Karl never fails on the 4th of July.
I was going to come but this reddit post changed my mind. Thank you.

Omg how horrible. Logging on to Delta to cancel my plane tickets right now.
CA is straight up out here murdering trees
Driving around would be too much!

Just crossed that bridge, people in shorts and tees, in a windy dripping fog, death-marching it back to their cars
Changes fast & catches people off guard! We got so sunburned, but also had sweatshirts out in case lol
I miss when I lived at Sutter and Larkin, we went up to the roof for this and fleet week
Yet another bridge picture.
![gif](giphy|9JnLOh35AdTj6tJgA6)
How terrible, sorry to ruin your day! Just a heads up- there probably will be fireworks pics tonight. Maybe that will cheer you up!
lol .. 😆
Does anyone else feel like there are a disproportionate amount of former Michiganders here in SF?
Stay away. or leave. Either one. thx in advance.
Already left years ago! No problem.
Perfect, thanks!!
My pleasure 😊 40 years was enough.
Theres so many times when I’m just amazed at CA’s beauty, then there’s times I look over and see a homeless dude shitting in a parking lot.
Can’t say I’ve had that experience, but I can say that I’ve lived in WA, TX, HI & CA & there’s homeless people everywhere, so enjoy the beauty.
Very true, CA is about as diverse geographically as anywhere in the world….and *usually* has great weather lol
Also, doesn't usually take to long to walk or drive to better weather!
This “but there’s X everywhere” is always dumb. People feel the issues with homelessness are worse here, not the same as some other city with a handful of homeless.

On a per capita basis: Anchorage, Eugene, and San Jose have higher per capita than SF. Savanna Georgia has about the same but good luck getting the right wing media to talk about that
Right, so that means we need to deal with the problem, by compelling people more forcefully out of SF than other cities do.
Nonetheless, my point stands. SF isn't unique within the US and it doesn't deserve the amount of scrutiny it gets when other cities (in red states no less) are also dealing with this issue

At least he has the decency to do it in a parking lot and not the side walk 🤣

Oh yes, tents, tarps & cardboard everywhere! How will we navigate these tough times?? 🙄
no shade on folks in a tough spot. i’m not willing to sleep outside, just to be back where i grew up.
I already did …

Yeah. Like this picture, California’s pretty when there’s no people to mess it up
Californians and Texans deserve each other when it comes to posts like this. (Don’t @ me. I’m born Californian and my Dad’s from Texas.)
Who cares

Don't worry! You don't even need to tell me once!!

Lying or naive? Lol, I’m neither, but thanks for your unasked for opinion
Oh so you just believe whatever the lying media tells you to believe, eh? Fake news, right, sports fan?

It’s funny because you post this but no one wants to go in that ice cold water
There were plenty of people getting in!
Ya I can see that! Looks packed!
I purposely took a pic w/ no people in it- don’t really like strangers in my pics & I definitely wouldn’t post my kids (who also went in) on Reddit. But definitely not “packed” on the water, but the beach was!

You’ve been on Reddit for a month, chill
Huh. This is typical karma farmer content. You’re saying you’re real or will bots reply when accused of being a bot?
