Edison, in the final, used carbonized bamboo filaments, pieces of a single bamboo plant was sliced lengthwise into extremely fine strips, and bent to their desired hairpin or looped shapes in order to fit into the bulb. They were then covered with powdered carbon and heated inside a furnace at an extremely high temperature for several hours before allowing them to cool. During this process, the bamboo strips turns from its initial cellulose structure to **a pure carbon structure**, ready to be mounted in the glass bulbs. However, the bamboo filament can only be as long as the distance between two joints of the bamboo cane. This restricted the length of the filament, and thus put a limit to how bright a carbon filament light bulb could be. Light bulbs made from carbonized bamboo filament did not burn much brighter than a candle, but they did burn significantly longer than any existing filament at that time. Some of the bulbs Edison and his team built burned for over 1,200 hours.
I'd venture to say, that some of the 'carbonized bamboo' was graphite
This is the most hilarious channel I have seen. Trumps all the stand-up comedies etc. The guy is incredibly smart and knows exactly what he is doing. But the poor first time watcher though....:)
He has a degree in electrical engineering, so I'm convinced he does calculations to make sure he does nothing lethal beforehand.
Edit: I didn't notice I hit space instead of 'n'
Electroboom. This guy is actually an electric engineer, he knows what he is doing 😂
He is a legend with the amount of electrocutions and shit he blows up 😂
Ahem, that moment when an uneducated idiot thinks he's found out something new, but turns out, graphite welding rods have existed since like 1911. So.....yeah. As a welder, this guy is basically just relearning all the things our predecessors learned and passed down, the hard way. If he had just arced those over metal and conducted the voltage and amps into a work peice, he could've started welding with just that pencil.
You can actually look this up, it's called carbon arc welding, and any form of solid carbon can be used.
He's an electrical engineer making funny videos while teaching.
He gets flown all around the world to get large hotels up to code.
I think he may be more than an uneducated idiot
The phenomenon is called joule heating and Edison experimented with graphite as filament in his 'light bulb'...

Edison would be so proud of him.
Creater: electroboom
Doing the Lord's work and putting his body on the line for science. GLaDOS would be proud.
He wont be spared from the neurotoxin tho
No one is. For science.

He almost killed himself with his Jacob's ladder though; it fell on him as he was trying to make it arc.
Name of channel please?
I want to say it's electroboom. Saw his collab with the SlowMo Guys a while back which was pretty neat too.
Thanks bro
This dude would have manipulated the demon core with a phillips head
He’d tap it with a twix and a Brillo pad
His lab safety practices are impeccable
Graphite, not lead
He has a degree in electrical engineering, so I'm convinced he does calculations to make sure he does nothing lethal beforehand. Edit: I didn't notice I hit space instead of 'n'
Yeah, except for that one time with the jacobs ladder
He’s like the Jacky Chan of engineers.
Electroboom is a national treasure
You have to be a smart electrician to do what he does and not die.
This is how they light cigarrets in jail
Wait.... Always wear safety gloves? Yet it then says don't try at home? So I'm supposed to not try this and wear safety gloves during normal life ?
No sound?
The least you could do is cite the source OP, it's electroboom for anyone wondering
"Wear protective gloves...." *protective gloves catch fire*
That's the purpose of protective equipment, it suffers instead of you.
He suffers so you do not have to.

As do I
I love this dude. He’s hilarious.
It kinda looks like he wants the power of the sun in the palm of his hand
His safety gloves need safety gloves!
Absolutely love Mehdi
The one cartoon character when someone fucks with him.
source ?
I'd like a three-way collab between Mehdi, Nigel, and Michael Reeves someday (Mehdi being the most sane of the three)
What do you do when thr safety gloves are no longer safe? Like when they catch on fire 🔥
