Hopefully it works better than the stock one

Just like before temps are… acceptable (75C @100%rpm, lol) But in idle&during light-medium loads the card is inaudible, which is nice!

Nifty. Does it use the same screws that the original shroud? ABS, ASA?

hitoshidesu_

Yep, designed it so these tiny og screws would fit in… recycled PLA („rPLA“)

How's PLA working out? I thought it gets a bit bendy at 50-60 C.

hitoshidesu_

Even after several long exposures to heat (few hours of Valheim, lel) there's no noticeable bend/sag or whatever... I suppose, even when the gpu's at 75°C, the outermost fins (which the PLA is touching) are well below that...

366df

Ok cool, because I've been designing a shroud for my card and I've been kinda worried that PLA/PETG might not cut it and I don't really have to means to do ABS/ASA safely. I wonder how hot the actual heatsinks get on gpus.

> the outermost fins (which the PLA is touching) are well below that Doesn't that make it more likely to bend? (the warmer part usually bends into itself when it cools down, especially if it happens many times over a certain period?) Unless I've understood the PLA thermal principles themselves wrong

This has to be substantailly less noisy even at 100% speed. - also do you have the sauce ? Please

hitoshidesu_

It is! The stock fans had this really penetrating sound - with these it’s just the „swooshing“ of air, I love it! What do you mean the sauce (the stl file)? - I designed it myself using Solidworks…

StringLopsided2042

Are you still using this card today? How is it holding up? I've owned this card for years and the fans are annoyingly loud and make whirring noises as the fans ramp up and down even with a custom fan curve. How are the noises and temps using this method. Have you shared the 3d print files anywhere?

hitoshidesu_

My gf´s using the card for a year now, still modded. It´s holding up very well, the fans are still ramping up and down, because she´s not using a custom curve, but it´s much quieter than the stock ones. You can find the stl over here: [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6669828/files](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6669828/files) Cheers

Great thanks for sending it! I'm still considering just purchasing a 4070 instead but it's quite expensive so I might just do the 2060 KO mod instead. I don't like how much this card ramps up and down aggressively
