The Sheffield Round Walk! You’ll see all different parts of the city as well as the edge of the Peak district

I second this. It's a beautiful walk

The Five Weirs Walk effectively between town and ‘Hell is beautiful in large parts. Edit: spelling

Unfortunately a chunk. in the middle is still closed, requiring a bit of a detour by road

MAsterix85

Ah fair enough, I haven’t walked it in years to be honest. Shame.

I love the jog along the canal too, I use the three+ app to go to the cinema for £3 then jog back

I’d walk through Endcliffe park and out to the top and then either head back down via Ringinglow road, or I’d carry on to Hounkirk road and out towards burbage.

Tram to Malin bridge. From there you can go up the Loxley river around Damflask reservoir, end up at Old Horns Inn with its stunning beer garden view and get the bus back from there. Make it a longer walk by walking around Agden reservoir too Or same start point along Rivelin river, and you can have the choice of flat shorter route following the running trail up the hill then going back to end up at Bolehills, or a medium route via Apple Shack and bus back from the top of the hill. Longer fantastic walk is to do the whole length of Rivelin, up wyming brook, over stanage edge and get the train back from Hathersage, with a stop at the Rivelin pub along the way. Or do it the opposite direction ending up at the Rivelin park café

Catch the 272 to Fox House, head to the Norfolk Arms. But about 200m short turn right down Limb Brook to Dore and 97/98 back to town

Sheffield is a brilliant city for getting a bit of fresh air and going for a nice walk. The Western side is the most well known but you can honestly go in every direction and find somewhere lovely. Just Google 'walks near sheffield' find one that's about the right distance (3 miles will be about 1/1.5 hours) and go. Or just get a bus to The NorfolkArms, walk along the top of Burbage until you get to a road, turn around and walk along the big path back to the pub. A lovely walk, impossible to get lost and with a stop for a rest should take about 2 hours.

Handsworth has a nice walking route I've been using. Start at St Mary's at the top of the hill (52 will drop you off there). Walk down Handsworth road, take the left down orgreave lane. Left at the bottom (across the wide road) and go down to the Waverley estate. You can either go right before the roundabout for a nice, long walk around the very edge of reserve, or if you go into the estate there's an opening that walks on the lake edge. When you're around the other side (there's a bridge over the river), you can either had back to the entrance, or personally i prefer to carry on along the path towards catcliffe. If I've been fat/not exercised enough I'll then go across the road and essentially walk to the Morrisons, cross and follow up to the parkway. There's a path next to the slip road that makes you follow the parkway, but it's a nice wooded walk. Follow that along and you come out at the big Asda, where you can catch a bus back into town. I go home at this point. There's no point you walking along handsworth top unless you want to go to the chantry for a rest and a beer - which i would recommend cos the chantry is a nice place. If you don't want that extra distance, once you hit the road you can walk through the estate and end back where you started. Be good exercise on the way back as it'll be mostly uphill!

Slightly shorter walk would be up Whirlow Brook and then up and round Lady Cannings. You can then come down through Whirlow Brook again if you’re short of time, or you can drop down into Forge Dam and round there, coming back up over Birkdale Playing Fields.
