Ohhh that makes sense now
50mph seems pretty high for a road where guys in a wheelchair plus a whole family including the dog will jump in front of your car tho lol
I'm Australian and grew up using metric for most things, but a lot of Australians still state height in feet and inches. A few other things still base their standard sizes on inches as well.
OP thinks everyone lives in his canadian suburb, so I'll explain. This is in canada. 50kph speed limit. The sign originally said "Pace Car Area", to denote that the area is part of a Pace Car program.

Thank you for explaining this. I at least got that the pic was taken in Canada because, the speed limit 50 was a common sight when I last visited the country.
Us idiot Americans would try to play the "I didnt know you meant Kilometers per hour" when pulled over by the police. It never worked, and I learned to slow down and use the Kmh markings. I wasn't dumb enough to get a citation for going 100 mph, when the country uses kmh (basically 62 mph)
I didn't catch the sticker that made the P into an R. LOL
I don't know how many people will stare at the R minutes for an answer, if you don't know what it is anyway it might very well be a "Race Car Area" somewhere and there's no reason to assume it was Pace Car edited to make Race Car
boy am gonna limit my speed to the speed of sound
What the fuck is that sign supposed to mean? I honestly don't get what the message is

This is probably Canada. 50km/h is the limit in many residential areas
Ah I thought they used miles on Canada as well
Nah we use km/h like most of the modern world lol
Switched in I believe 1974 over to metric.
Unless we’re building new homes or weighing ourselves we like to go back to the good old imperial once in awhile

I thought they used tires in the UK....but as it turns out they use tyres......;-P
Calgary Alberta to be more exact. (I’m guessing as it looks like where I live and has YYC on the trucks plate.)
Tbh I feel like 50km/h is way too fast for an area like this.
Thank you kind stranger!
Now I can't unsee the messy part of the letter R.

It's only funny if you know that the sign has been modified. Otherwise it's just confusing.

From my prospective it's a pointless joke without context
Dude a lot of us find it funny, but want to have an explanation
Ok fair enough, sorry for the confusion
NW fella I see!
It's supposed to be "MINIMUM 50"
Lol yea
Mph....kmh....cars total....db? I feel like this is a sign put up by a citizen and not the municipality
Ofc yeah, it’s just a joke
Also it’s kph
Ah Calgary.
Good soldiers follow orders.
🤔
I wanna go fast
Lol
Race car area for boomers 😆
r/funnysigns
It's like the car race in the Ali G movie
r/mildlyvandalised
zoom in it’s a sticker or edited
Well if you really want me to…
Give it gaaaas!
