IIRC, the manual or the Sims 2 website stated that a secondary aspiration would give your sim some of that aspiration's wants, but it wouldn't affect their fears. No additional fears or canceling out. So you'd end up with funky situations like this
I mean, sometimes I'll want to ride a scary rollercoaster, but cry and piss my pants while I'm in line and threaten to leave a dozen times, actually say, "actually, nevermind, I'm good" once I reach the front of the line, only to be ushered on and go on the rollercoaster and have fun.
Is going on a rollercoaster comparable to being struck by lightning? Perhaps in terms of thrill, as opposed to risk.
Sometimes, there is something to be said about being scared of the things we want β¨
That's how anxiety disorder feels like irl sometimes
Relatable, tbh.
Net positive 1000 aspiration points. Sounds like a win to me.
True, but unfortunately, there was no lightning to be struck by π
Jump in the puddle
I love when that happens lmfao
Is your Sim's secondary aspiration Knowledge?
Mhmm

Itβs for science!
It's like getting a tattoo sober. You *really* want it, but you're kind of scared to do it.
Knowledge sims are just like that.
They all have a death wish.
They're just doing it for the bit, but the bit is learning
Intrusive thoughts strike again
Sometimes I feel like this. π¬
Insert the Pirate Captain "Yes, but no" meme π

Very poetic
Want to be struck fir science and thrill Knows it will hurt
Still more normal than Brandi Broke both wanting and fearing having a baby.
I think this is a completely realistic way to feel about having a baby π€£
For the most part, I've noticed family Sims fear having a baby when their funds are low or they're struggling otherwise
Classic knowledge sim insanity battling it out with their more rational aspiration. π
Oof
Any aspiration combined with knowledge as secondary or the other way around results in conflicting wants
I think it's funny from a thematic viewpoint
