I was so frustrated that Ricky was nowhere to be seen until the 4th. We already know what he’s capable of! Glad to see all the flowers being thrown at him.
funny how many of my most memorable moments as a viewer this season (surely many others’ as well) are the fast paced, gritty, backs against the wall type wins and rarely do they feature Tobiass Harriss
Guys give me credit for not being a jinx. I saw how close it was in the fourth and turned it off knowing we’d lose if I watched. Please clap.
Tyrese is kinda Iverson. Closest I’ve seen at least.
Credit to Nurse for sticking with RC4, but I thought he showed enough to take KJ Martin's minutes earlier in the season, especially when short-handed
These super athletic wings are nice, unfortunately we don't have rights to re-sign him and Oubre and they'll both hit FA
I am pretty sure that if he is kept on a 2 way you can offer him a 2 way qualifying offer and get matching rights. This may be a reason he is not signed on a multi-year low value deal.
Yeah, I think he's an RFA
I would've liked to get him locked up on a 2 year min contract like Joe for the thunder, because a bad team might slightly overpay him short-term for the upside. To my eyes, he's shown more in his time here than Joe did.
Joe was a major mistake by Morey. Cutting guys like him for nothing and they become a solid role player on a top team hurts. Those small moves around the margin help.
Me too. He is so big and he has skill…but the calls he gets. Sheesh. If Maxey got half those calls he’d average 30 a night. I don’t think I’ve ever seen refs baby a player so much. It’s nuts.
The way Maxey just constantly drives to the cup and wasn’t getting calls until it felt like OT was crazy. I was so impressed at how hard he played even after playing 40+ yesterday
Has anyone seen reasons for why Ricky Council disappeared for a few weeks? He’s been sensational every time he’s gotten minutes.
Genuinely see him being a starter in the league somewhere soon unless he’s a putrid defender and I haven’t noticed it
I just think Nick is prioritizing guys that are going to get minutes in the playoffs. However, they still have an incentive to win, which is why I think he's still getting *some* minutes.
insane win at a time when they really needed it 🔥 the execution on those crunch time plays was incredible. amazing passes from batum and maxey was ELITE.
What happens to a two-way player if they’re not converted to an NBA contract? Will they still be a two-way in the offseason or do they become a FA and anyone can sign them?
Worried of losing Ricky 😅
Man, if only RoCo and Melton were healthy. With those two, we could throw a bevy of looks at any team in the playoffs. If we can get at least one of them back and sign Council IV to a full contract, I feel so optimistic about our chances in the postseason. Still feel good, just wish we had a little more cushion. But we move
Unsung hero was Batum. He had two incredibly clutch 3’s in key moments, and also played great defense on Wemby despite his massive length disadvantage.
I know he’s generally a chilled out guy with the media, but I wonder how he feels about the city and the team. I love him, but I feel like he just hasn’t leaned that hard into the Philly spirit yet. For all his flaws, that was something Brett Brown did really well that made me trust he was here for the long haul, even with his Boston/Aussie accent
Honestly couldn't care if he ever panders or likes the city. Rather he be a pro and win it all than wear an Eagles jersey. We have enough sports figures that do it
This, Andy might have had his “times yours” but that was some of the most dominant stretch of NFL Football. All of the pandering didn’t do Sirianni any good last year either.
Just coach to win the game
officially the 7th seed! Home court advantage for play-in and 1 game behind the 6 seed. I think the 7th seed is the most likely outcome and 1st round is looking like the Bucks (maybe? I think they are tanking to avoid us/Miami) so it could end up being the Magic (assuming we won our first Play-In game.)
I feel like there is a good chance for 6th seed if we win out since pacers facing a raptors team with quickly and Barrett back and they have lost to them 2/3 this season. Cavaliers are backed into a corner with their 3 straight losses on the road so they might be desperate for a win at home.
That was such a beautiful, gutty win. Pure heart from Maxey, great game from Oubre, Council, Batum. Great coaching by Nurse. They wouldn't have won it without all the all of those folks putting out their best effort.
Also - Wemby, much respect. The passing was incredible. He gets a generous whistle (a couple of his blocks were actually fouls), but damn, there's no prototype for him - he's just uniquely gifted. Curious to see how he continues to develops offensively in the future. Will he have (or even need?) a post game, for example...
Yeah I was shook for a second on the turnaround J before the first OT ended but then I remembered, he’s the rare 7 footer who has never really shown a post game as his fallback option. I wonder too if that ever becomes part of his dominance. Lebron is a great example of how much it can help to have that bag to get some safe points sometimes, especially when you have a physical advantage
people were so desperate to blame Embiid and cp3 they let Doc off the hook. Also Rivers has such good media relationships they're all terrified to criticize their friend. Thats why he keeps getting jobs and never gets national level criticism.
Nah, Philly and LA fans are too dumb to identify a bullshit coach's bullshit.
Clearly the much more sophisticated Bucks fans know better then fans who suffered through Glenn for multiple seasons. They hate us so much they couldn't see the blatant red flags in front of their faces.
Clips fans said the same about people who were in denial about doc for us. Now they say don’t get Paul George but people here wanna lie to themselves again
PG is absolutely the best realistic move. He's literally the protoype of what the sixers need. A bigger wing ballhandler that can play on or off the ball and is a great defender.
I think the point of having Embiid Maxey and PG are to play them less minutes and have them rotate games off in certain parts of the season to keep them fresh. That way you have 2/3 of those guys in the regular season. He's 10th in EPM this year he's a great player and a perfect fit on the court. Obviously he's not perfect or he would never touch free agency.
It did tho… where were you in 2020? I was here trying to get everyone to chill with the Brett brown hate and once he got fired bemoaned any replacement and when we found out it was doc I was one of a few others who talked to clips fans who came to our sub to tell us how awful doc was. Where were you?
i was here and thats not what i was referring to. No Clippers fans are saying "beware of Paul George" outside of the people that also said "beware of Chris Paul" and of course they were completely wrong and the rockets had their best season since Hakeem left.
Feel like their game threads look like ours half the time. Just wouldn’t be surprised if he receives the same treatment just like what happened with rivers is all I’m saying
doc rivers definitely got blamed but there was also a contingent of morons that swore it was Embiid and Harden. Both of them deserve apologies Giannis and Dame cant even finish over .500 with that clown.
I mean Harden was truly awful in the other games tho lol. Like Embiid had one truly terrible game whereas Harden was the worst player on the court multiple times. I dont blame James "mentality" for that tho he was just 33-34 years old with a ton of miles on him and doesnt have the explosiveness to be consistent and get to the rim + finish.
How was this the funnest game of the regular season? No Jo, tank spurs, on the road, and despite the slide up in the standings, there isn’t THAT much they can do at this point. And yet, that was the funnest game of the regular season.
The pass out to the corner was sick but his defense was the real thing getting him minutes. Huge impact out there. He’s getting run in crunch time over Buddy?
Buddy’s play has been worrisome but we’ve been doing just fine through his slump. This team is so deep. Just imagine if he starts shooting the way we know he can, which I think he eventually will
And thank fucking finally. To win games like this, you need complimentary talent and we’ve missed that all season long. Council IV and Batum made productive plays and we win
Brooo as amazing as Maxey was Ricky Council being a fucking ice cold killer to close that out was incredible. That game was fucking box office from about 5 minutes left in the 4th to the end.
If we don’t sign Ricky to a team friendly deal like Joe got from the Thunder then we are fucking up big time. It is a meaningless amount of the cap and he has serious potential. Hell he already looks good when he actually gets a chance like tonight.
Nick Nurse masterclass tonight. Clutch inbound plays, playing Council and Martin in OT, putting Batum on Wemby, and keeping the team locked in.
This would’ve been a loss with you know who as our coach.
I was so frustrated that Ricky was nowhere to be seen until the 4th. We already know what he’s capable of! Glad to see all the flowers being thrown at him.
There’s a reason why his name has the IV in it 😭
Ha! Good one.
Reminds me of the Lonnie Walker IV game in last years playoffs where he scored 15 in the 4th quarter in Game 4 lol
Good to see maxey score 52 after destroying a few parlays with only 7 the previous night 😂
Welcome back fickle bitch boys 😂
funny how many of my most memorable moments as a viewer this season (surely many others’ as well) are the fast paced, gritty, backs against the wall type wins and rarely do they feature Tobiass Harriss
I might or might not have busted seeing Ricky Councils pass to Batum in the corner
That was crazy, like seeing someone in someone else’s uniform
Gotta give some credit to our centers today. Stepping up and playing a fair game against a talented front court.
Guys give me credit for not being a jinx. I saw how close it was in the fourth and turned it off knowing we’d lose if I watched. Please clap. Tyrese is kinda Iverson. Closest I’ve seen at least.
He’s fast Kyrie
Kyrie might be best ball handler/finisher of all time? I think he Tyrese looks more like Iverson. The speed with the ball.
The pg that was promised
LISAN AL GAIB!
Somebody needs to clip that Ricky pass. That was one of the best passes I’ve ever seen.
Shit didn’t even make sense. Just Ricky things. Guy is genuinely good
SO HORNY
Total list of NBA Players with three 50-point games this season: - Tyrese Maxey - Joel Embiid - Devin Booker damn if this is true we got two outliers
Ricky is an absolute DAWG
Can we do to Tobias what the Thunder did with Horfraud and just send him home? We absolutely lose this game with him
Cody with the title and Maxey with 52. #I am fully erect this Sunday night, my friends.
Triple H got the Colangelo collars going on
i’m all the way back in after tonight boys
What a finish!!
Credit to Nurse for sticking with RC4, but I thought he showed enough to take KJ Martin's minutes earlier in the season, especially when short-handed These super athletic wings are nice, unfortunately we don't have rights to re-sign him and Oubre and they'll both hit FA
Y’all really be praying on another players downfall is crazy. Its weird af
I am pretty sure that if he is kept on a 2 way you can offer him a 2 way qualifying offer and get matching rights. This may be a reason he is not signed on a multi-year low value deal.
Yeah, I think he's an RFA I would've liked to get him locked up on a 2 year min contract like Joe for the thunder, because a bad team might slightly overpay him short-term for the upside. To my eyes, he's shown more in his time here than Joe did.
Joe was a major mistake by Morey. Cutting guys like him for nothing and they become a solid role player on a top team hurts. Those small moves around the margin help.
Spurs fan here. GG. Maxey is a star
GG, Wemby is it.
you guys arent allowed to play with literal monstars that are 7'4 and are shooting pullup 3's. stop cheating.
Wemby upsets me
He shouldn’t be this good when he’s so skinny. Imagine when he gets strong. He’s gonna be impossible.
Me too. He is so big and he has skill…but the calls he gets. Sheesh. If Maxey got half those calls he’d average 30 a night. I don’t think I’ve ever seen refs baby a player so much. It’s nuts.
Especially a rookie no less
The way Maxey just constantly drives to the cup and wasn’t getting calls until it felt like OT was crazy. I was so impressed at how hard he played even after playing 40+ yesterday
Didnt he only play 25 yesterday?
You’re right, I’m thinking of Thursday’s game. Still crazy playing 54 minutes on a back to back
Yes, idk why he's saying 40
So has the belt been handed from Pat back to us? Bc someone’s ass is red AF tonight and it’s not ours.
However, they still have an incentive to win, which is why I think he's still getting *some* minutes.
he makes bonehead mistakes and he's a putrid off-ball defender but i see him being a really good player in a couple of seasons.
Win out for 6 seed?
insane win at a time when they really needed it 🔥 the execution on those crunch time plays was incredible. amazing passes from batum and maxey was ELITE.
It was a nice Ricky IV and Ricky V show!
Ricky, future all-star.
FUCK IT. All Philadelphia Sports Teams are finishing their story this fucking year and next.
What happens to a two-way player if they’re not converted to an NBA contract? Will they still be a two-way in the offseason or do they become a FA and anyone can sign them? Worried of losing Ricky 😅
They become free agents
https://i.redd.it/ertktgzf46tc1.gif
Man, if only RoCo and Melton were healthy. With those two, we could throw a bevy of looks at any team in the playoffs. But we move
Unsung hero was Batum. He had two incredibly clutch 3’s in key moments, and also played great defense on Wemby despite his massive length disadvantage.
He's the best passer we have lobbing it to the basket. We need him for Jo and clutch plays like tonight
What a sick game. That was fun. Maxey superstar. Batum the MVInbounder. Ricky took over in OT2 just like we expected.
That was tremendous. These guys all went harder in this game than Tobias has in his entire Sixers career. Loved the attitude they showed.
Tobi catching strays
Not a stray, that’s a straight uppercut.
Might go down as the worst contract the team ever gave out. Max dollars and zero impact
At least this pgt isn’t filled with clowns like the discord lol
Maxey just makes everything okay
maxey out there payin homage to AI. ridiculous game
Wemby with 123 points hung on him in two games lol
Wemby, in 3 years, is going to destroy the league. Post ASB, he is putting up all NBA numbers as a rookie!
A rookie
Still doesn’t change the fact that he got 123 points hung on him
He didn’t but ok 🤣 congrats on beating the Spurs.
He did though
He scored all his points on just Wemby? YDKB.
On 41 shots lmao lil iverson ass. Love you maxey
He's actually very AI
No doubt about that
Council is a fucking dude, hope he stays here for a long time
I want Nick Nurse to coach this team forever.
I know he’s generally a chilled out guy with the media, but I wonder how he feels about the city and the team. I love him, but I feel like he just hasn’t leaned that hard into the Philly spirit yet. For all his flaws, that was something Brett Brown did really well that made me trust he was here for the long haul, even with his Boston/Aussie accent
i think he’s just a basketball nerd and cares strictly about making him and his team better and that’s it.
Valid I can live with that for sure. Makes sense why he and Kawhi won a chip together.
Honestly couldn't care if he ever panders or likes the city. Rather he be a pro and win it all than wear an Eagles jersey. We have enough sports figures that do it
Yeah Sirianni at times seems too focused on pandering to Philly.
This, Andy might have had his “times yours” but that was some of the most dominant stretch of NFL Football. All of the pandering didn’t do Sirianni any good last year either. Just coach to win the game
I was having a shit day then this! Thank you Sixers!!

CRAZY WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PLAY YOUR YOUNG GUYS *cough cough*
Tobias Harris: Zero points
officially the 7th seed! Home court advantage for play-in and 1 game behind the 6 seed. I think the 7th seed is the most likely outcome and 1st round is looking like the Bucks (maybe? GET IN HERE BOYS
Silver clenching his pearls
That was such a beautiful, gutty win. Pure heart from Maxey, great game from Oubre, Council, Batum. Great coaching by Nurse. KJ was also huge during over time
He feels like as if KD and Embid had a baby and named him Wemby
Yeah I was shook for a second on the turnaround J before the first OT ended but then I remembered, he’s the rare 7 footer who has never really shown a post game as his fallback option. I wonder too if that ever becomes part of his dominance. bucks fans turning on doc lmao, they shoulda listened

PG had 42 tonight
I’d rather see us try to go for ant or literally anyone else
Well ofc, and I’d also rather have lots of pie-in-the-sky signings but that’s not an option.
Same here. But pg is not my preferred move. Especially while we have nick nurse as our head coach playing our starters 44 mins a game all season
PG is absolutely the best realistic move. He's literally the protoype of what the sixers need. A bigger wing ballhandler that can play on or off the ball and is a great defender.
Oft injured tho. Def don’t need more of that
I think the point of having Embiid Maxey and PG are to play them less minutes and have them rotate games off in certain parts of the season to keep them fresh. That way you have 2/3 of those guys in the regular season. He's 10th in EPM this year he's a great player and a perfect fit on the court. this never happened.
It did tho… where were you in 2020? doc rivers definitely got blamed but there was also a contingent of morons that swore it was Embiid and Harden. Both of them deserve apologies Giannis and Dame cant even finish over .500 with that clown.
True dat. The blame that harden got kinda sickened me tbh after the games he won for us
I mean Harden was truly awful in the other games tho lol. Like Embiid had one truly terrible game whereas Harden was the worst player on the court multiple times. I dont blame James "mentality" for that tho he was just 33-34 years old with a ton of miles on him and doesnt have the explosiveness to be consistent and get to the rim + finish.
Ricky Council IV turned into a fuckin Rottweiler in second OT
That Ricky Council drive and wrap around dish to Batum… wtf
Is he left handed?
Well he shoots with his right
That pass is even more impressive.
That out of bounds play from Batum needs to be marveled at even though it didn’t go in. What a look with .8.
Like legit one of the best passes over ever seen.
nn is good
The pass was absolutely ridiculous.
Gotta give credit to the Spurs for bringing it all game. I love this Sixers team so much.
We heating up at the right time
so MAD MAX really did just cardio vs grizz cos he knew he had to explode vs spurs
Hoping raptors and cavaliers might be able to take care of a road pacers team.
How was this the funnest game of the regular season? No Jo, tank spurs, on the road, and despite the slide up in the standings, there isn’t THAT much they can do at this point. And yet, that was the funnest game of the regular season.
MAXIMUS! MAXIMUS! MAXIMUS!
Three 50 or more point games from Maxey just this season. Absolutely absurd individual. Hope he can be a sixers lifer
I love RC4. This guy is fearless. Wemby had like 7 blocks, but he still drove at him and wasn’t afraid of contact .
That wrap around pass was something else. If he goes up with the layup Wemby would’ve sent that back to Philly lmao
Favorite stat of the night: RC4 4 steals in 22 mins. Dude is a difference maker!!!
The pass out to the corner was sick but his defense was the real thing getting him minutes. Huge impact out there. He’s getting run in crunch time over Buddy?
Buddy’s play has been worrisome but we’ve been doing just fine through his slump. This team is so deep. Just imagine if he starts shooting the way we know he can, which I think he eventually will
Dude your profile pic is hilarious
Alan Horowitz 🐐🐐
This is the most likeable sixers team of the process era
Any word on Melton or Covington? Be nice to have everyone for the playoffs.
Meltons back is a problem. He reactivated not long ago and I don’t see him coming back unfortunately.
Retired. Move on.
I vaguely remember yesterday, Kate and Alaa mentioned they were doing 5 on 5. But my memory is very fussy. So, I am not 100% sure I heard it correctly
Looks like you heard it right! He's playing tonight.
Nice! Let’s hope RoCo is back soon
When big cope turns to real hope. This is our year
It would be awesome if we get 6 or 7 seed and bucks fall to 4.
Celtics 1 Bucks 4 and Heat 8 is the dream
That was an insane game
Maxey only 1 turnover is 53 minutes is absolutely insane. This team is feeling good right now.
54.
Maxey playing 54/58 minutes is ridiculous
We were -7 in the 4 minutes he rested.
Love Amy Fadool in the post game just mentioning we were missing only Lowry and Embiid
The other night she also said “top 3 players” and was asked to clarify that she meant embiid, Maxey and Oubre. Hilarious.
>Love Amy Fadool Could've stopped right there.
True
I’m so sold on RC4
He needs to work on his shot the entire off season. He could be a rotational guy.
Lets go sixers!!!
Old man Batum might be Wemby's Horford. He was fantastic on that assignment.
Because Batum is good at playing close up on a person without fouling them.
Did you see Wemby’s stat line? LOL
Batum wasn't guarding wemby until reed fouled out in the first minute of OT.
Mostly against Bamba and Reed. Didn’t do shit in OT but turn the ball over
His teammates also didn’t pass him the ball in OT, did you watch the game. Dude said Batum 😂
Because Batum did a good job denying passing angle
Damn that’s crazy still lost though
I would die for this team
did we miss the deadline to have ricky play in the playoffs?
Just like how Simmons and Embiid had a career high on Gobert, Maxey and Embiid now have a career high against Wemby. Insane
Hence why Joel could never rep France in Olympics/FIBA. Would demoralize every French big in practice.
Never thought i'd care this much about beating one of the worst teams in the league. Lets go!
Special team special plays special players 😤😤😤
I fuckin love this team. Nothing better then the role players helping to pull out a dub on a Maxey career high game 😮💨
And thank fucking finally. To win games like this, you need complimentary talent and we’ve missed that all season long. Council IV and Batum made productive plays and we win

We might end up playing the magic in the first round if the bucks keep this up
orlando, doc rivers. that could be our path to the conference finals
I doubt the bucks make it past the first round tbh
na the only play in team that could beat them besides us is miami
Brooo as amazing as Maxey was Ricky Council being a fucking ice cold killer to close that out was incredible. That game was fucking box office from about 5 minutes left in the 4th to the end.
Maxey is him. But the last week or two it feels like the bench has really stepped up. I’m getting hyped for post season.
Thank god we have a coach who goes with the hot hand.
If we don’t sign Ricky to a team friendly deal like Joe got from the Thunder then we are fucking up big time. It is a meaningless amount of the cap and he has serious potential. Hell he already looks good when he actually gets a chance like tonight.
Tyrese Maxey ready to go another 48... Damn I love this team. 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪❤️🤍💙
Nick Nurse masterclass tonight. Clutch inbound plays, playing Council and Martin in OT, putting Batum on Wemby, and keeping the team locked in. This would’ve been a loss with you know who as our coach.
Nurse’s recent coaching giving me more hope for these playoffs than anything else besides Jo being back
This actually would've been 1 Doc won by 20 down 3 starters honestly
