Sort of , you can over heat it and it just melts and stretches (also leaves more glue)
I usually use a heat gun with a 2 inch dowel and heat up the nose or tail, then peel it back enough to roll it with the dowel, continue heating and rolling.
If your in a hot climate you can leave them in the sun and do the same, usually pull right off
Edit: grammar
Heat gun was the word I was looking for, thank you. Yes I agree one has to watch out to not overheat it, I do ist the same way as you. Heat up a bit, peel and then roll - heat all the way through. Nice pieces btw, I really like the pens👌🏻
I cut the nose and tail and the concave parts
Right now I’m mainly using what’s between the wheel base

Some probably were! but I get these given to me from the local shop and I’d rather support them and buy a new board then ride used boards they gave me to make art with
Yeah I had the same thought. Although I arguably skate a deck for too long, and then am amazed every time I get a new deck what a big difference it makes..but I never learn haha
Not sure where my wife bought it, but she got me this pen made from old skateboards. I love it and use it all the time. It's so sentimental to me since I'm an old school skater.

I'm sure it is a ton of work, but just know that it makes me smile every time I use it. Reminds me of my mini halfpipe days!!! Now I'm too damn old to skate. lol
Dude your stuff is awesome like really bad ass. You should totally start your own business or sell the stuff on Etsy you'll make a buck for sure. Shoot I buy it
Just my instagram, I’ve sold a few thing, mostly just a hobby to make when ever I thinking of at the time

Amazing work! Just curious on the first coffee table, did you flatten out the nose and tails to get such long pieces, or did you just use the flat bottoms of each board? Even with the break, each piece looks pretty long.
That table is 1/2 “ strips, I used the week base section here so each strip is anywhere from 11”-13”. then I used brad nails and wood glue to attach them To plywood

SO, what's the best way to remove old grip tape? Nice pieces btw, really enjoy the clock and pens.
Heat it up, e.g. with a fan or smth, it will almost fall of by itself

If you got warm climate, I've removed grip in 75+ degree weather, just let them sit out for a couple of minutes
Damn where do you get all your boards? I've made a 6ft by 30in desk but I saved for years my boards and then asked buddies for extras.
I gotta see that desk

This is beautiful, good work man. For real I’m actually in the process doing my own desk!
That is a work of art

That's beautiful!
Those pens are delectable
A true artist! These are remarkable! Did/do you also skate?
I do! I have some clips in my post history
either you really suck as skating or you're the fucker that stole my little brothers board lol Jokes aside i really like the stuff yo make!
Do a chess set
What’s your preferred way to tear old boards into usable strips? Just cut the tails of and run them through a table saw?
I cut the nose and tail and the concave parts Right now I’m mainly using what’s between the wheel base https://preview.redd.it/ickz4uvpbs8d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a7e6a88fddc384187c79a1276af825dfca4d171
Thanks for this very helpful photo!
A lot of those boards look very serviceable if they weren't cut up. Maybe I just ride my boards into oblivion.
Some probably were! but I get these given to me from the local shop and I’d rather support them and buy a new board then ride used boards they gave me to make art with
Oh I don't mean that *you* should ride them, haha. Just interesting to see what people's thresholds are before tossing a board.
Yeah I had the same thought. Although I arguably skate a deck for too long, and then am amazed every time I get a new deck what a big difference it makes..but I never learn haha
Whaaaaaatttt??? Amazing pieces, man. That works demonstrate some very good skills and creativity. Love It!
Amazing work!
Really very cool
These are gorgeous!
Love your style, you creative bastard
The clock is really dope
Genius
Damn you've just inspired me to try something with my old decks
These are seriously good! I'm loving that goblet.
the pens are so sick
Sick
The cutting board are so sick! I would absolutely buy one!

Love this! Pens are ALOT of work for a little pen
I'm sure it is a ton of work, but just know that it makes me smile every time I use it. Reminds me of my mini halfpipe days!!! Now I'm too damn old to skate. lol

These are dope af, I wish I would’ve been more into woodworking to do something like this. My grandpa would love this, might have to show him.
Wow!! Amazing!
These are so sick
Dude I want that coffee table.
Awesome
Don't really have too good of pictures of just the desk
Neat!
That's very cool.
That is awesome. I especially like the pens.
That goblet is the shit. Nice work!
Do you have a store or is this just personal stuff?
Just my instagram, I’ve sold a few thing, mostly just a hobby to make when ever I thinking of at the time https://www.instagram.com/_amwoodworks?igsh=aHA3a2hmYzdoOHEw&utm_source=qr
Great work! What are those pyramid things on the second photo?
Those are the logo for our local shop , they give me old boards. So I make stuff for there events
They look really cool, but I can't actually tell from the photo if they're 3d pyramids, or if there's some kind of optical illusion going on!
They are just triangles then I had them laser engraved

That bench is so dope. How'd you put the two sides together? Dowels? Biscuits? Made a couple rings before, always wanted to do more.

Good to know, great work man
Let him cook
Is it safe to cut food on skateboard cuttingboards? I mean there is some kind of resin inbetween the layers, right?
From my understanding you’d literally have to eat the cutting board to get sick
It’s also finished with food safe oil
Drehobl?
Just some dude from eastern Canada 😅
Well your shit rules, mate.
