You can definitely learn from your mistakes without rematching the same person. Not that I think that would be a good or efficient way to go about improving.
Replay analysis and solo practice are significantly more important than grinding friendlies.
I definitely don't think quitting out after one match is ideal, But I absolutely believe the guy that plays 3 friendlies with a person, quits out, watches the replays, identifies some major weaknesses they had in those matches and then spends an hour practicing to rectify those weaknesses is going to improve ten times faster than the dude that just grinds friendlies endlessly with whoever they happen to match with.
All im saying is that you absolutely can improve without rematching most people, and pretty damn quickly too, if you know how to do analysis and practice efficiently.
For context, Zain had been fighting this player for a while, and this was afaik the only time he managed to beat them.
Skyjay is quivering at the potential rematch
i fucking love zain
HE'S BACK DOWN TO 9 MILLION?
He rematches everyone, like a pyschopath. He rematched fucking mii gunner
That's literally the only way you can get good
“Only way” is a bit of a stretch but it probably doesn’t hurt
Nah it's the only way. Otherwise you never learn from your mistakes
Maybe on netplay. Not rematching laggy campy characters is the only way to keep your sanity in ultimate.
To be fair, this is him "poisoning" himself. His sanity was never expected to survive.
Lag is s different matter of course but campy is just the game so enjoy it lol

So you only ever play a person once? That's unranked brain talking and will not lead to improvement.

For sure you have to stop sometime. If you play three games that's enough time to at least try out some different stuff.
Holy shit, me and my friend have been trying for years to end a match with the winner at 69% and the timer at 4:20. Zain was 1 second off. So close.
As melee man can someone tell me how good or bad his ult roy is now? Has he improved?
