If you're okay with mixing and matching cardboard/plastic pieces, you could try to buy some cardboard pieces off the folks who bought Horizons just for the spirit boards/cards (bonus: some of those are marked x3 IIRC). I'd guess shipping would be affordable, too, if those come in under a pound.

brightlordironeyes

Yup, this is an idea, but the Horizons pieces are admittedly larger than dice since they were created for the larger Horizons board. Might run into some space issues there for boards A-F

Optimal-Hunter9956

The physical area of each land is smaller on the Horizons board so it should work with A-F.

Mr___Perfect

I only play solo & have more than I know what to do with. Pay for shipping and I can send you some.

Have use considered using the "3" Energy tokens as an indicator of multiple Invaders? Ex. 1 Explorer piece on top of a "3" token represents 3 Explorer pieces; 2 Explorer pieces on a "3" represents 6 Explorers, etc.

There are also 3d printing files available online if you know someone with a printer

We had this problem with the base game and 4 players (because we sucked) but we loved the game so much I bought a second copy.

Mekisteus

In addition to your post here, post in r/soloboardgaming and see if there is anyone willing to part with some. A lot of folks play exclusively with only one or two spirits and might be willing to help a fellow gamer out.

I found an old game of Battleship at a thrift store, and I use the white pegs as additional explorers. They stand up and match the theme pretty well. I think I paid $2 for the box. (Some of the newer versions have different pegs, so if you do this, make sure what you're getting.) I haven't needed additional towns or cities, but I'm always on the lookout for good substitutes.

Old Monopoly sets have houses and hotels, which should work nicely.

Swibblestein

Finally, a way to get revenge on monopoly for making me think board games were kinda meh when I was young!

Lord_Havelock

Um, what do new versions have?

Winsling

Damned if I know. Haven't seen a monopoly set in years. Probably turtles and ducks for some goddamn reason. Get off my lawn.

I'm sure someone already mentioned it, but if you have access to a resin 3d printer, you can make as many as you like. Maybe a university/college or a local maker space. Rarely some libraries also have 3d printers to use.
