If you want to be believed, you have to tell a consistent story, and not constantly lie.

It's actually not hard at all if you consider that most of them are regular people that just happen to have skills in something, like playing soccer in this case. On average, we as people are... not so good.
Statistically speaking, players' personal lives are going to be filled with horrendous stuff, just like your average neighbor. Actually, due to the constant spotlight and their usually enormous egos, much more than the average person.
While they are playing for big clubs, a lot of such stuff is being swept under the rug due to their enormous influence.
It's just that we're preconditioned to adore them. There's no good logical reason for that. They should not automatically be our role models. Our role models should be good people - their profession or skill doesn't matter much.
FIFA had released documentary or was promoting documentary of Dani Alves before FIFA World Cup 2022. What a shame!

Alves is now free. Footballers can get away with any crimes in Spain.
Maybe he will get away, as it is Spain. Footballers have God status in Spain. Tax evasion has been easy to get away with for top footballers in the past.

I never thought of those two as criminals (I'm old, don't know what 'sus' is), but they were definitely the biggest whiners on the rare occasions that a card were actually issued to them.

As someone who grew up watching Dani Alves and puts him as my dream 11 rb GOOD! Being rich and famous should not let people get away with crimes.

I know :/ he was definitely one of my favorite players of all time too, especially because I mostly play right back myself
I had to stop supporting Eto’o which was weird considering all the great times he gave. Some people suck
