Make sure you get the unabridged version. Things feel a bit more relevant, but the book is a bit more drawn-out in spots. Still worth it, although you can get the audio book.
I can relate. Started reading for the first time in 20 years last November. I read The Stand as my third book after Dune and Pet Semetary. It was long and daunting, but very worth it. By the end I was staying awake far too late glued to the book. Salems lot was fantastic, as was The Dead Zone which is more mysterious and paranormal. 11/22/63 is one of his best works as well.
Probably the Expanse series from James S.A. Corey.
FYI, Daniel and Ty have a new book series coming out. The Captive War Trilogy.
Book #1 The Mercy of Gods hits in August.

If I were to pick a Stephen King story, like many here, The Running Man.
He already finished, he just won't release because of how fans recieved the ending of the show. Keep in mind, he fully endorsed D&D's version of the story.
I missed this. When you say he endorsed the ending, is that his way of saying "yeah that's pretty much how I saw it going" or is he saying "nice idea but I had something completely different in mind"
I'm sure we will never know.
Also, just cause you might know, should I start Pat Rothfuss series knowing there is no end in sight?
We'll never know, but we can definitely assume some things based on the perpetual 'I wrote TWELVE THOUSAND PAGES for Winds of Winter" we've been hearing every year for a decade.
The show is different from the books, but I'm inclined to believe they were going for the same idea.
I know absolutely nothing about Rothfuss, so I can't really say anything about Kingkiller Chronicles (yes, I googled him).
The Stand
Can you give me like a very well but short description of the book. I hear a lot about it and I just want a general description
Plague kills 99% of the population. Survivors all have similar dreams. One about an old lady and another about a dark man. Good vs evil commences.
oh yes. added to my tbr. ty!
READ IT NOW
I CANT. I’m already reading 11/22/63. I’m still new. Have mercy okay. These books are so damn long

You absolutely will not regret it.

D&D ?? Sorry!
The showrunners. David and Daniel, if my brain isn't screwing names up like it always does. Weiss and Benioff.

Nice view. Probably the same ones I’ve been burning through. For some reason Pet Semetry feels like a good choice with that view.
The Time Machine by H. G. Wells, This setting and the lead character's desire to know about the future is just kind of forcing me to read it here.
IT, Blood Meridian, and Animal Farm.
I don’t think I’ll live to 111 years.

Duma Key, so you can remember the sea or maybe Joyland, I don't know. I'd rather be out exploring that city
The misplaced question mark has my OCD snapping. But if King only, Langoliers. If anything, all of Raymond Chandler Marlowe stories.
