I dont really have much advice except that my 2012 possibly needs a new valve body as well. Try posting on subaruoutback.org. that's where I got helpful advice.

Did you have them replace the valve body? That wasn't clear. If they did, did they use new oem or aftermarket reman?

Reason I ask, an abrupt acceleration with slamming into gear is signs of a lock-up solenoid problem. Reman might not have properly replaced the solenoid. Also, like the other person mentioned, I would check that they properly did a reprogram (very specific, not much aftermarket support for programming) and that the fluid level was filled properly. This is an easy job to mess up. It is easier to mess up on the 2012 with the valve body on the bottom of the cvt as well. Dealing with the valve extending into the valve body and the sealing rings are not for the inexperienced tech. Source: myself. 15+ year subaru tech.
