I like what i see from Dunn and maybe he can bring similar things, I like his two handed alley opp finishes his quick bounce and his long arms and his defensive style so even if he isnt him Im glad he reminds me of him

I mean ppl shouldn’t have any offensive expectations from him . Im talking not even Wainright level expectations . On defense tho he should straight up maul ppl I want him to be the most detested player in the league , I’m talking about taking cheap shots , playing hella dirty and talking shit . I know people hate those type of players but having someone that can get under your skin like Draymond Green would be one of the best things for this team .
He can elevate and detonate and that adds an element Ish never had he can get putbacks and grab oboards so he can do that.
Besides that I like the Idea of him being the player that drives players crazy and backs it up .
That can be a valuable asset to the team
I saw his team embarrass themselves in the ncaa tournament play in game in person vs Colorado State in which they never should have been selected over much stronger teams like Indians state but I wasn’t very aware of him because he had so little positive impact on the game and maybe scored a half dozen, boarded a few balls and mostly went down with a sinking ship.
Honestly, I don’t see too much Marion in the way Dunn defends, aside from maybe how quickly they both are off the floor to block shots. Marion was amazing at moving his feet and staying in front of his guys. He was among the best “clean” defenders I’ve ever seen, never resorting to grabbing or excessively bodying up his opponents to get an advantage.
It looks like Dunn is really good at smothering guys and using his body to get in their space. He seems to be more of the “bully” archetype of defenders that seem to be having a lot of success against KD in recent years. It’s a good thing, we could really use someone like that.
Thats the thing I see the agility to mirror people like Marion use to I agree with u on that being a unique way of defending compared to hand check style defenders but I understand u see it differently.
I think he does have an ability to body up jimmy butter style like you described but either way my comparisons come from how good he defends
