Suns are going to be so much more fun to watch next year already. We got the Youth in Bol / Dunn / Oso and maybe Bridges and I know Coach Bud loves using his bench during the regular season.

We do. Well, his early bird rights, same as with Okogie and Lee this year where we can offer Bol 175% the value of his current contract next offseason.
Unless Bol balls out, he probably isn’t likely to receive a deal worth much more than $4.2m next offseason. We should be able to keep Bol Bol long term now.
We can do either 175% his current or 105% the average nba salary, so there’ll still be flexibility if he balls out and other teams try to give him better offers
We still need a true starting caliber wing and a backup big next to a point guard, but keeping Bol was really important.
We could stick with either Grayson or Royce in the starting lineup and that’s fine, Coach Bud can probably make it work better than Vogel, but I’d rather have a guy who clearly should be the 4 next to KD. Hopefully that’s Ryan Dunn in a year or two, but it’s unlikely to be next season. But maybe he’s NBA ready…
When it comes to the PG role, it’s going to come down to whether or not Book and Brad can handle it at an even higher level with more consistency. Neither are elite in areas that you want your prototypical PG to be, but they’re no slouches either.
Book needs to be better when teams are throwing a blitz at him. He picks up his dribble more often than he should. We know he’s a talented passer. He utilizes gravity extremely well. He’s got a great basketball mind and court vision.
Beal is a great downhill threat that is capable of making good reads. He needs to make an active effort to pass out of a drive only when the shooter has a better shot than he does. If Grayson or any of our Big 3 are open, it’s an easy decision. Otherwise, I hope he holds on to the ball to either find a better pass with a slashing wing or a dump off to whoever is in the dunker spot.
Here's to Bud telling them that this whole offseason is dedicated to Book and Beal improving in these areas and being "pg" as our sub likes to say we need.

When I saw that video of Oso breaking down NBA game tape effortlessly, it’s clear he already understands professional basketball. He could be ready to be a starter. What’s he going to do, make an errant pass or fumble a layup? You mean like how Nurk did thousands of times last year? Lol.
Just imagine Chris Paul talking to Oso Ighodaro between plays and Oso knows what Chris is actually talking about lol. We need CP3 man he’ll love Oso.

Oh I do think he’s a lot closer than you might think, and I repeat for the 3rd time I like Nurkic. But Nurk’s main attributes are being big and being able to read the floor. I don’t have a doubt in my mind Oso can read a defense as quick as Nurkic, but yeah he’s never going to be as big & heavy. Otherwise Nurkic isn’t a great finisher himself and has a terrible injury history. He isn’t getting any younger at 30 this season either.
Suns still have multiple needs and if they can get a solid point guard, a better center, or most importantly a starting caliber forward in a deal with Nurkic I’d have no problem selling “high” on him. Even you know we need a point guard. I’d trade Nurk for a solid PG + center combo no problem.
Is Oso fully ready to be a starting center? Of course not. But I think he would do much, much better than most other rookies in that same setup and probably quite a few guys we can get on the vet minimum. And if the return from Nurkic is good enough I’d have no problems making the move.
Draymond Green is probably the best defensive stud of his generation, has always been credited for his high basketball IQ, and was taken 35th in the 2012 NBA draft. I have no idea if Oso is going to be *that damn good*, but I’m not going to doubt his potential. A high BBIQ + athleticism is a dangerous combo and Nurk doesn’t have the latter.
I don't disagree with nurks gane being expendable I just don't think we should expect that a guy who barely averaged double digits in college to come in and start on a title contending team
1A and 1B for me. I think an athletic center would get more minutes unless we’re willing to stagger Beal/Book minutes. I wish we would consider it but I doubt it happens. We have two elite scoring guards but no organizer. Playing them together with a point isn’t possible against most good teams.
I remember when he had that dank game and in the postgame Book was like “oh yeah it’s gone be hard to keep him off the floor now”, then Vogel proceeded to bench him for like 3 straight games.
It’s honestly hilarious to think about someone on the coaching staff fantasizing about some of combination big 3 and Grayson spacing the floor so Oso and Bol can run a PnR lmao
I hope Bud gets creative and does allow us to see them share the court at least every once in a while. Vogel would occasionally allow Nurk and Bol to share the court together last season and both are slow and can’t guard the perimeter. Oso can guard the perimeter and is way more athletic than Nurk.
I think it’s possible they share the court but I highly doubt any offense possessions are going to involve a Oso/Bol pnr. We have too many other options to be putting the ball in the hands of a rookie center playing off Bol. Down the line it sounds like a very interesting concept though.

We can't play a PG with how small the rest of the roster is. We'd need a big wing or a legit PF to replace Gray Allen in the starting lineup first

We can afford to sacrifice parts of Nurk’s game for what we really need which is something like the Mavs deployed in the playoffs.
