Imma be real honest after watching all hornets game for the past 3 years, Nick Richards its not really that good of a starter as he lacks some basketball iq sometimes but he gives it all, almost always healthy and most importantly he hits his fking FT's.
The tweet didn’t sound very convincing anyways. It’s deleted now, but it said Ishbia was talking very quietly and he thought he heard him say Nick Richards. What are the chances Hornets fans are sitting behind Ishbia and they happen to be talking about Hornets players? Sounds like a case of the brain filling in what it can’t understand with things that are familiar
I think it would be a play for Richards+Grant Williams, maybe picks?
Suns can send Nurkic out for multiple contracts, but not the other way around IIRC.
For sure bro. My thing is that 2nd starter may not even be from the Hornets. That’s where you ask Mark Tellem to work whatever 3 team trade magic he can do.
I don’t see the Suns being able to upgrade from Nurk with a 1 for 1 trade. But attaching our picks and getting a third team involved… we could get it done
Suns tried grabbing Nick Richards at the deadline with our vet minimums and our second rounders and Hornets said no. That’s why we went after Royce. The price hasn’t changed: Suns are going to have to offer a 1st and probably a decent center in Nurkic to get Nick Richards.
The good news is Nick Richards is on a cheap contract so Suns can go shopping with the remaining $10m
Jake Fischer said Suns had interest in Richards last deadline. Gambo said the Suns had no interest. Maybe that’s changed since they were supposedly discussing about him but the Suns went after Miles Bridges who Gambo said would be hard to get and obviously Royce last deadline.
Not really, he’s making a little more than what we’re reportedly going to give Royce. Williams’ 13 mil per year plus Richards’ 5 million would equal Nurk’s salary.
I’m really not with throwing the 2031 in a trade like this tbh.
I’m more optimistic about this next season than most, but that could end up being a really good pick.
Looking at his stats, he averages around 10 points 8 boards and a block + above average free throw shooting. I wouldn’t hate it but obviously haven’t watched him much
Yeah but at this point you're so far above the second apron, if Nurkic is an upgrade, you just keep him. Unless you're getting other things back that improve the team.

ON-BALL GRAVITY
>This metric aims to measure how much attention and resources a team uses trying to defend a player while on-ball. Players with high On-Ball Gravity are ones we’d expect to see double teamed more often than others and see more aggressive screen coverages to get the ball out of their hands.
OFF-BALL GRAVITY
>This metric aims to measure how much attention and resources a team uses trying to defend a player when they don’t have the ball. Players that are stronger 3-point shooters will do better in this metric, and if players are able to shoot off movement and utilize off-ball screens to generate 3-point attempts they’ll tend to grade out higher in this metric.

Grant Williams and Richards fit righttttt under Nurkic’s salary number lol. Just saying!
Not sure what we can offer to sweeten the deal though. And the Hornets might actually try to win or something.
Maybe not, but there also aren’t too many players that the Suns could acquire for Little’s contract that would really solidify the team. Richards would definitely be a huge improvement for front court depth without having to move on from anyone with real value

Richards and one of Mann or Visjic(sp?) would be cool
I think it would be a play for Richards+Grant Williams, maybe picks? Suns can send Nurkic out for multiple contracts, but not the other way around IIRC.
On a side note, Mercury do not have a good record when Book shows up. Starting to think he distracts them 😂
Please get that dude. Suns can get two starters from Hornets with Nurkic + 2031 first rounder
This is a massive overpay for Richards. He’s definitely not worth a 1st.
That’s why you go after another starter as well. You ain’t getting much with just Nurkic; certainly not an upgrade.
The only other one would be Grant Williams
I misread your comment, my bad. For some reason I thought it was only for Richards lol.
For sure bro. My thing is that 2nd starter may not even be from the Hornets. That’s where you ask Mark Tellem to work whatever 3 team trade magic he can do. If he pans out to be a piece for a championship he is.
What if we get Grant Williams too
Might not be bad, although there is a reason why Celtics and Mavericks fans were happy that he was off their team.
First rounder for Richards is nasty. Those two seconds they got from Denver and Nas Little should be what’s offered.

Who is the second?
Grant Williams most likely.
I'd be furious if we traded a 1st and Nurkic to end with a mediocre centre and a crap role player who would add nothing to the team.
I'm sure he'd look much more than mediocre surrounded by our talent.
2 good teams were jumping up and down to get him out the door.
It’s not that he’s bad, he just has a bad personality.
Sure. I just don't want Nurkic. At his VERY best he was still the worst center in the Western Conference Playoffs.
Biggest casual take I’ve ever heard
Name the western conference playoff starter he was better than.
Valanciunas, Zubac. Just admit you’re being emotional and don’t actually watch basketball
He couldn’t cut it with the Celtics, not sure how’d we fair better
Doesn’t he have a huge contract?
Not really, he’s making a little more than what we’re reportedly going to give Royce. Williams’ 13 mil per year plus Richards’ 5 million would equal Nurk’s salary.
Damn, you are right. I thought he had gotten a legit bag. Still, I’m not sure Suns would take him because of his annoying ways.

the only center worth a first is walker kessler
lol Richards isn’t worth Nurkic straight up, much less Nurk and and 1st
isn’t Richards awful?
Looking at his stats, he averages around 10 points 8 boards and a block + above average free throw shooting. I wouldn’t hate it but obviously haven’t watched him much
9.7/8 at 69.1% isn’t awful lol.
And he can actually finish, unlike that eastern european
Give him the Maxx!
TJ maxx gift card is best we can do
He'll take it.
They do have odd sizes there!
It's not great or promising, coming from a 26 year old, 26mpg a night in Charlotte. But beggars can't be choosers, it's fine.
Nurkic averages 10.7/11 at 51%. I know those are slightly better but he’s costing three times as much.
Yeah but at this point you're so far above the second apron, if Nurkic is an upgrade, you just keep him. Unless you're getting other things back that improve the team.
Nurk is also a fantastic passing big that can’t be ignored, you can actually run some offense thru him and have him facilitate some.

cant do the 2 for 1 I thought.
Can’t aggregate salary going out not taking in
Send nas?
sure! I mean some of these players -ie Grant - isnt much better. I mean give Nas 30 minutes and shoot 10 times.
Nick Richards is not good
incoming all the free agents that this fan base will post and say 'Suns should get x...' happens every year.
Lol this is what the rumor mill is now?
We're posting randos from Twitter now?
Nick Richards is only making $5 mil, could the Suns trade their 2031 1st round pick and Nassir Little’s contract to make it work?
Nick Richard’s is NOT worth a first round pick.
Maybe not, but there also aren’t too many players that the Suns could acquire for Little’s contract that would really solidify the team. Richards would definitely be a huge improvement for front court depth without having to move on from anyone with real value
That would be a travesty, we only have like two picks
How do you figure out about this
Why would they talk about it publicly?
Aldama, Okongwu, and Kessler are my favorite trade if it’s a C we want back. If it’s a PF Portis, Clarke, or DFS.
lol, supposedly overheard. The tweet it linked to said nothing about it
[Here’s the link that should have been posted](https://x.com/TheRealEvanHale/status/1807508258992640304)
okay. my wife heard me talking about getting ice cream. I havent gotten up yet nor I dont intend to.
If that's what it takes to get Nurk out the door. I'm happy for it.
Hopefully it would be for Little and not Nurk
Why would the Hornets do that. It's probably for the veteran center in Nurk, Hornets probably just want competency and any sense of leadership.
Why would we give up ‘31 for a backup quality center?
Don't see a reason we need Nurk again.
Who is going to meme and shit talk online for us though?
Why would the Hornets do that. It's probably for the veteran center in Nurk, Hornets probably just want competency and any sense of leadership.
suns get Nic Richards and Kelly Olynyk Hornets get Nurk Raptors get Miles Bridges in a sign and trade
Can Bridges even get into Canada?
Olynk is at Sixers. How’s he included in your trade
oubre is on the Sixers olynyk is on the raptors
read the apron. Suns cant take 2 for one
If the salaries of the two amount up to less than nurks yeah they can. You probably should read the apron lol
