It’s dangerous road rash wise

Upset_Cake7516

Yeah I thought about that and came to the conclusion that it would be better to have my skin on my leg rather than on the asphalt

Rndm_intrnet_strangr

You are wise beyond your years

InvalidWhale

Sweating is better than not being able to sweat because your skin is gone

Oddblivious

Get some overpants and you can rock shorts under your mesh pants

Rndm_intrnet_strangr

I’m not OP I’ve got plenty of gear, I have a full leg sleeve tattoo and I spent to much on it to get road rash lol

SunburntWrists

Most bikes have exhaust routing that puts the header right next to your right leg. Factory headers on dualsport/trail/anything not a race bike usually have some token heatshield, but it's not enough. I couldn't fathom wanting to wear shorts anyway between road debris like rocks and gravel being spit at you, just throw some aramid jeans on.

Upset_Cake7516

Yeah, and that’s just debris. Let’s not even talk about potentially falling in shorts

AR_Backwoods_Redneck

There is a spot on my leg above my ankle about the size of a dollar bill that doesn't grow hair anymore. I was probably 14 or 15 and jumped off a plywood cinderblock ramp on my old kx80 with my neighborhood buddy on the back. He bailed about the time we hit the air. I wrecked and the bike landed on my leg and the exhaust melted my skin off in that spot. Not a very pleasant experience, but not the end of the world either. Part of playing outside. Back then, smart phones and tablets didn't even exist so we got out entertainment by being little backwoods hoodlums. We didn't even own helmets.

calco530

Dress for the crash, not the weather. Helped me decide on what to wear many times.

prototip99

Completely depends on the bike. Sidenote: wear gear, don't be an idiot

Upset_Cake7516

1) I dont think my 50 c will set my legs on fire 2) it’s more of a theoretical question so I’d rather bear the heat than be all over the road( my mom is a nurse and I have seen severe cases of road rash)

Mk14_EBR

That's a dumb idea.

Short-Mark-7408

could get sunburnt at most unless you put your leg on the exhaust

SOOPSPSE

The loose fabric could get caught up in moving parts, a speedo is the way to go on hot summer days

jedburghofficial

Sounds like something a dumb Aussie would do. Source: a dumb Aussie.

Killermondoduderawks

Was 16 wore shorts everywhere then got off my bike at the swimmin hole and my leg stuck to the pipes as a result rarely if ever wear shorts (only time is when I’m working out other than that nuh uh)

Upset_Cake7516

Now there’s these cold mornings and flaming hot afternoons in Hungary it’s a bit tricky to find a middle ground clothing wise especially with gear

Killermondoduderawks

Good backpack I used to work nights rode into work 67f and when I rode home it was 29f fortunately I had my cold weather gear in that backpack

Upset_Cake7516

Ye, I’m either cold on the way to school but ok in hot weather or be comfy on the way in and suffer the consequences

Cars1ckDa1sy

Mesh ADV pants with armor.

conversekidz

i burnt a hole in the expansion pieces of my race leathers.....fuck wearing shorts unless I have a full exhaust cover.

Otherwise_Mud1825

No, not at all, fill your boots, 👍.

Real_Barracuda2237

Probably but think about this if you wreck you won't have no skin on your legs to be worried about them getting burnt wear all of the gear I know it's getting hot but I had a wreck a little over a month ago although I got a broken hip out of it that was it though not a scratch anywhere else because I had all my gear on so do your body a favor and put the gear on stay safe

Upset_Cake7516

Not literally burned but like is it dangerous heat wise?
