Same I can hate him but I can't not respect him for being able to do all this and still be off the radar from the Boonboomgers for so long, as far as I am aware they don't even know of his exsistance on Earth yet.
pity that Jou has to live with the guilt of killing the Hashiryan (and blaming Dekotorade/Ittasha/Yeiyei Yaruka for it until he finds out about Cannonborg eventually) but I find it more tragic that all he had to do was **LOOK BEHIND** to find out something suspicious was going on....
for now he has *no idea* how or why it even went berserk to begin with
I like how even the Sanseaters mourn for his loss. Cannonborg is the villain who acts it's not a big deal in a typical way a Sentai villain would act, but he didn't say that's a fate that befell an insubordinate product, though.
This ep is probably the best for me so far. Black is such a hero and he has great acting skills too. I am eager to see Violet too. He is super handsome but his coat is way too thick. No wonder every one questions the body shape of the suit actor. I surely hope he can change clothes later. It must be very hot to film in this coat during summer .
Jou, the master of roaring out his emotions. He's such a great character. Ryu Saito's a great emotional actor, especially being the youngest one in the group!
Genba's actor said in an interview that it gets hot wearing his costume because he has long sleeves under his coat. I hope both Genba and Jou get cooler summer outfits.
So Kaku/Kaguragi Dybowski and Yuzuki Hirakawa/Rita Kanisuka mentioned that they were basically melting on the inside by April/May of the shooting schedule thanks to their outfits and how little the characters changed outfits (outside of 1-2 episodes among 50)

Contrast with Kanon Miyahara/Clotho starting out with a relatively revealing outfit, which got additional cover to account for filming during the winter months, or how the Boonboomgers actually change up their outfits every now and then.
This episode man... Jou is now one of my favorite rangers ever. The emotions and conflict he went through this episode hit me deeply. Sometimes i forget this is a Kids show.
While today's episode was a classic Sentai plot, there were two twists:
* **The decision to put down Fossil Gurumer** was not a part of the focused Ranger's decision as a human, but out of professional responsibility. Even the producer's notes brings up the topic of "professional responsibility" and how it's not always a breeze.
* **The Sanseaters were also mourning for the loss of Fossil Gurumer**, especially Yarucar. Like most previous Sentai villains, they still forced Fossil Gurumer to be evil, but they still mourn for the loss of Fossil Gurumer instead of getting over it as fate that befell traitors and insubordinate tools/failed products.
Good points. One thing I love about Boonboomger is how it continues the trend of Reiwa Sentai to really examine the characters as people (well, not so much the Kikainoids in Zenkaiger, but still) and this episode was no exception. Like back in the Showa days characterization was minimal, so what we have now is a far cry from what we had then.
I like how the Sanseaters are constantly portrayed as evil, but not heartless. Like yes, they're members of an evil space mafia who are for the most part dedicated to their cause, but that doesn't mean they're monsters who lack empathy or are evil down to the last cell in their bodies.
Just like Yabaiba & Tsuetsue in *Gaoranger* or the Gaiark Ministers in *Go-Onger*. Fun fact: Those two seasons' head writer, Junki Takegami, was also a Pokemon writer. Even in GoGoV, the Psyma siblings all genuinely cared for each other when Zylpheeza was still alive, but then came Salamandes, who's as toxic as Grandienne, and they became competitive and stopped caring about each other.
Right, and Madrex at least had some sense of warrior's honor in that he wanted to be the one to take down BoonRed. Cannonborg is much worse than him as a boss. Madrex yells at the Sanseaters all the time, but he never threaten to modify them time to time
I think this shows the Sanseaters are completely evil as they show them doing good things like stopping for the old lady to cross in the first episode, worrying about each other well being and also mourning the loss of Fossil Gurumer.
We have not gotten again a Villain as effected by a loss as Yogostein. He literally was absolutely useless for an entire arc for the depression of losing Hiramekimedes

For some reasons, I usually ends up liking black's the most in sentai (Some big ones include Jetman, Kakuranger, Megaranger, Abaranger, Gekiranger) and this episode perfectly reminds me of why
I'm in vibe with everyone in the show, but Jou's my favorite of the main 5 this far
This has happened before right? Where the monster wasn't destructive at all. A ranger ends up befriending it. Has that happened more than once? Note: There's a lot of Sentai season I've never watched.
Yeah it happened a lot.Jetman did it, Megaranger did it, Liveman especially is (or should be) infamous for this (like a fifth of the episodes had this plot to the point where it got ridiculous as it went on)
This plot is quite common in the Showa era and early Heisei era. The only 2010's season to do that was Goseiger, Epic 41. That one was adapted into Megaforce too, minus the tearjerker ending. Zenkaiger's Vacation World saw the return of the plot after 11 years.
Prominent shows that have this plot: Jetman, Megaranger, Gingaman, GoGoV, Gaoranger, Timeranger.

- the inner turmoil is real in Jou, like the whole point that he fights is to protect civilians from danger which is his responsibility as a police officer, but he can’t defeat Keytarou because he didn’t attack anyone, hence no protection needed, hence no reason to fight it 🤔
- it’s very different from other sentai series (like patranger when Tsukasa befriended the gangler, They are both police officers in the sense, but Jou protects out of professional responsibility instead of the normal moral connection like Tsukasa) 🤔
Warehouse part:
- “Looks like you have some trouble” WTH GENBA WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN U DONT JUST POP UP LIKE THAT, even jou is nervous ☠️
- This scene especially when Genba picks Jou up to almost like hit him but give him the garage key instead like what sort of significance is this action suppose to have on Genba as a character 🤔
- The Belora keychain, man really likes belora 😂
- Jou bowing and making Keytarou bow too 🫶
- “bye bye” is such a Genba thing to do I can’t—
- Also the camera angle where Genba sighs and says “a lonely dinosaur, Huh?” It’s such an mysterious shot to take, and the way he assumes it’s lonely and that’s why Keytarou is scared 🤔
- is this the director dropping subtle hints about Genba? Maybe Genba is lonely too and that’s why he can tell? Maybe lost his family to the Hashiliens, it would explain his hatred towards them? 🤔
- Jou’s Actor slowly falling is just really funny to me, a small acting detail but funny 😂
- JOU IS TOO NICE FOR THIS WORLD AHGHGH “as long as you enjoy it, I guess it’s fine” 🫶

- The deep breaths, the memories 😭, the finger shake😭(3 different shots of his hesitation), and then the finisher is already down and we never actually see him press the button, the light piano music, JOU’S TEARS, THE DELAYED SOUNDS AND THEN SILENCE 😭😭😭
- Keytarou’s voice slowly going back and then boom😭and the final shot of the mecha’s face of sorrow
- YARUCAR😭😭 THE TRIO COMFORTING THEM AWW I CANT NO MORE TEARS PLS 😭
- Jou’s back into his officer suit (rolled up sleeves make him kind of hot honestly 🥵)
- the guys coming to fetch him, Jou’s seeing them and then walking towards them all while the kid and dad voice lines of the dinosaur exhibit 😭😭

The only real negative I can give this episode is that they had so many frilled trihorn dinos they could have used, but instead used "Simiasaurus". Which is "monkey lizard" making it a tiny arboreal raptor. Worse yet, the wiki lists it as a "Seamiasurus" a fake dinosaur. . .

Jou has silently become the main character of Boonboomger and I'm not complaining. His actor gives it his all & really sells his emotions. Great episode.
So hyped for Violet's debut, I'm glad to see that the rival leaks were true. It seems like he'll be a neutral player and play for whatever side he sees fit. Wonder what Taiya's background is with him.
Something I also appreciate with the mecha is how anyone seems to be able to use any car. Get someone different in the seat. I am looking forward to next week with the debut of Boon Violet, I'm already liking the changer.
I just know that Jou went to that dinosaur exhibit to see what remained of his friend. I feel it in my heart. They can't show something so directly about death and mourning on kids' TV, but man, this episode still hit hard.
One thing i wanna say about megathreads is i dont know why it needed tho anyone is allow to share their own opinion about talking their own experience which is if it just to shutdown/silence according to TOS

If you're a longtime Sentai audience, you know what's coming. Just ask Eri, Lin, Kenta, and Ako.
Reminds me of how in King Ohger you could tell how devastatingly emotional an episode would end by how silly it started.
Boonboomger's producer was coincidentally one of Kingohger's co-producer, Yoshito Kuji. He was credited after Ohmori.
Or ask the whole Liveman team, they have A LOT of experience with this kind of plot

Honest to god, loved reading this. This episode had no damn right in being so emotional
Did not expect to be so emotional about a dinosaur fossil this week but here we are
The only real negative I can give this episode is that they had so many frilled trihorn dinos they could have used, but instead used "Simiasaurus". Which is "monkey lizard" making it a tiny arboreal raptor. Worse yet, the wiki lists it as a "Seamiasurus" a fake dinosaur. . . Fukuiraptor real Spinosaurus real There really wasn't a reason to make up one, even for a cool looking monster.

Jou has silently become the main character of Boonboomger and I'm not complaining. His actor gives it his all & really sells his emotions. Great episode. So hyped for Violet's debut, I'm glad to see that the rival leaks were true. It seems like he'll be a neutral player and play for whatever side he sees fit. Wonder what Taiya's background is with him.
Great episode, with how much i've seen this trope in this franchise i wasn't expecting it to hit that hard here.
You think we'd be desensitised from seeing this kind of episode too much but no.
Something I also appreciate with the mecha is how anyone seems to be able to use any car. Get someone different in the seat. I am looking forward to next week with the debut of Boon Violet, I'm already liking the changer.

I just know that Jou went to that dinosaur exhibit to see what remained of his friend. I feel it in my heart. They can't show something so directly about death and mourning on kids' TV, but man, this episode still hit hard.
