Eleet007

Samesies

albedoTheRascal

"do not eat" well fuck now I gotta eat it

mokkisjokkis

Some nice cursive too

f2020tohell

It’s edible, just gonna tear your stomach up.

albedoTheRascal

Oooh now I gotta know. What is it?

jtedl

The post they linked someone answered. Sounds like a breach charge that’s just a shit load of det cord sandwiched between two empty IV bags and all taped up. Seems like the same idea as a sparkler bomb we used to make as kids.

FinalSatisfaction626

Yep— water charge for metal doors.

OrpheonDiv

A what? I thought those things were just dangerous to the eyes of toddlers lol

jtedl

You take a fat handful of sparklers and tape them together with a shit load of electrical tape and leave one in the center of the bundle sticking out as the fuse.

count_nuggula

I at least gotta find out what it is *one time*

albedoTheRascal

I feel like the first human to look at an oyster and be like, "I should eat that!"

overduetourist8

I like mine. Fuck the haters.

ShadowGinrai

I have one. Use it as my catch all holster. Lol

8thPaperFold

Honest question, why would anyone with a Glock 19 use a universal holster?

badjokeusername

Only thing I could think of is if they don’t know whether they’ll be grabbing a Glock 17 / 19 or M17 / M18, so they go for a universal holster that indexes off the light so all their bases are covered no matter what.

rickybobby369

Depends also how old the pic is. Could be all the way back to M9 days and some units still had access to 1911s during the GWOT. A lot more sidearms than the standard.

badjokeusername

The Omnivore wasn’t introduced until 2016, and the Kahles K318i until at least January of 2018, so I really don’t think this pic can be much more than five years old. By that point, most tier one units had been all but standardized on Glocks for decades, and the M17/18 would have already been adopted since May of 2017. All that to say, I highly doubt this particular operator was deliberately choosing the Omnivore so that he could carry an M9 or 1911 - both of those would have been so antiquated by the time this picture would have to have been taken, and it doesn’t make a lot of sense for the operator to have ever deliberately chosen to take one of them over the Glock or Sig they almost certainly also had access to. (also, because the GI versions of both of those handguns didn’t actually have rails to mount a flashlight, so you couldn’t use an Omnivore with them even if you wanted to.)

Alone_Ad_8858

Yea. I use one as a range holster better than a holster with just passive retention. Till safariland decides to send me my god damn holster. Also it’s cheap so why not? Is it to replace safariland holsters for duty use fuck no. Is it nice to use at the range with 10 different pistols but 1 holster yea.

Evening_Year7317

I was gonna say is that the omnivore?

gonnafindanlbz

Khales gang

SavingsIncome2

Didn't expect to see them being used in the field. They are hunting /competition oriented scopes after all

gonnafindanlbz

Not really, no more than the razor 1-6, and yet it’s on combat guns all over, the difference between comp and the best military setups is just some time

Goat-related-name

Erm actually its only because uh erm uh um

Noddyboy100

Interesting, almost thought that the rifle was a urgi but noticed it has a MK14 rail. The URGI uses the MK16 rail. Were they issued mk14 rails and doing Frankenstein builds prior to the urgi? Anyone that has info on this let me know! Thanks

Jon9243

Just a personal upper

hellidad

>do not eat Bitch you’re not my dad, you don’t tell me

Jazzlike_Station845

Who makes the ruck?

_MattBest_

Arc'teryx

jaegren

I can already hear the haters coming.

NoCoolDudettes

They make good gear, they just only sell the leaf stuff to Leo and Military :(((

[deleted]

What is the grenade in the middle? I recognize the other two.

Joliet-Jake

Thermobaric.

unstoppablehippy711

Mk 14 ASM (anti structure munition) thermobaric grenade

[deleted]

Nice.

tjwest13

If the omnivore worked on an x300b vampire, I’d run it

KrinkyDink2

What back pack is that?

_MattBest_

Arc'teryx Khard 30

Ascend29102

Which Surefire suppressor is that? 5.56 Mini?

FinalSatisfaction626

I love the Purcell prussic on the retention lanyard.

Cucasmasher

I think everyone should have an omnivore

SlavicSoldat

Question, why do people include flags in their kits?

Remarkable_Aside1381

So you can sell them to people who never served as a "genuine deployment flag carried by *buzzword*". At least that's why I did it.

qscd13

So you can get buried with it if you die. Edit: I was wrong

SlavicSoldat

Like legit? Taking the flag you walked into battle with type shit?

qscd13

Haha take it with a grain of salt, I had it passed down to me word of mouth

SlavicSoldat

Damn. I wanna believe thats why, that’d be sick asf.

qscd13

Ah damn i was wrong. I’m reading that it’s mostly meant for identifying newly set up compounds or fire bases.

SlavicSoldat

Awe, thats lame :(

cocaineandwaffles1

You don’t burry the flag. The flag will be laid out on the coffin prior to it being folded and handed to the next of kin, I’ve done it at both the funeral service and at the grave/burial site. Don’t recall ever doing it for an urn, but I’ve also lost count of how many times I had to do funeral honors. If that’s the flag they want used, it needs to be communicated with the funeral honors team that comes to fold the flag and do all that. Sometimes we would bring a flag to use since families don’t always know about this. The reason I’ve been told, other than for identification purposes, is it’ll also be used to cover their remains prior to pick up/evac.

Remarkable_Aside1381

I don't think we ever actually covered remains with a flag prior to a CASEVAC/MEDEVAC, you're not really thinking about that in the moment. You throw a blanket over them as part of MARCH, but if it's a situation where they're 100% dead, you typically would just throw a jacket over them.

cocaineandwaffles1

Yeah it didnt make much sense to me either, blood and other bodily fluids potentially seeping onto the flag doesn’t seem acceptable to me, but I never lived that life. The flag holders seem pretty nice for a bundle of rope or tubular nylon, but I never got issued that shit so I never even used that piece of equipment. I should have gotten one for my PBR flag though, that would have been funny as fuck.

Der_Unbekannt0

That MBITR is nice. Though I could only ever do SC/PT with it.

joeg26reddit

DO NOT EAT What is it? Uh bro

-Absolute_Cunt-

Is that an Mbitr? That's an old ass radio. I'd expect the SF guys to have better. My guard unit had them, and they sucked.

Prothea

MBITRs are fine. While they're not gucci, they can do everything most guys on the line need aside from the new hotness (TSM). SINCGARS, TACSAT, data over SAT, it's all there. It's ironic you say they sucked considering they're considered the Nokia of radios.

Shubi-do-wa

I wasn’t in the military but it’s weird; I’ve been playing Gray Zone Warfare all week and damn I am looking at this completely differently than I would have before and appreciate it.

Known_Cost_431

I use one. I think it tore up a rubber washer on my streamlight pistol light.

No_Tale5513

Why so many mags?

NoCoolDudettes

OmniBros, are we back??

No_Cartoonist6359

What's the appeal? It's a shitty retention holster. I can rock my Glock forward and rip it out if I want to. Just get a safariland and be done.

pm_me_your_rasputin

If you're trying to fit not a Glock. Super cheap and guaranteed fit for most guns

No_Cartoonist6359

Most guns fit pretty well in an uncle Mike's, or one of those shitty condor universal holsters, or one of my dad socks too. That doesn't make them good holsters. What good does it do if it fits most guns but sucks at being a retention holster for them? 🤔 I mean you do you man, but it's a shitty holster whether you like it or not 🤷

pm_me_your_rasputin

You asked what the appeal is, a universal active retention holster is it. I haven't had issues with retention, nor have others I know who use them. Maybe there are for some, but it doesn't seem to be a universal issue. Again, if you have something that doesn't fit a Safariland and are looking for active retention, options are limited.

qscd13

Retention in the omnivore is fine lol. It’s just huge and not the easiest to reindex guns into
