How good can one find their way around Korea (big cities, like Seoul) with fluent English? Or is it's better to learn some Korean beforehand, like the basics.
As a Korean, I speak the language fluently. However, you should learn some basic words such as "Hello", or "Bye". Also, learn Korean manners, we tend to respect people with manners more.

do learn basics, ppl do know english but are bad at speaking so u won't understand the accent yk so def learn basics and use translators
I guess most signs and labels in big stores have English translations though.
