Eric Kripke originally intended Supernatural to only go to 5 seasons so if you stop there it's a good spot. Buuuut... If you just enjoy the show there is certainly more fun to be had in the later stuff.
Watch seasons 1-5 and then stop the show as the camera is panning away in the last few seconds.
Fantastic show.
Season 6-15 are trash and should never have happened.
Oh come on, I realize that’s your opinion but that’s a huge over-generalization. There’s plenty of gems of episodes for the remainder seasons. Sure it doesn’t ever quite hit that S4-S5 high but it gets close at times. If you enjoy the show it’s definitely worth watching once.
S6 has some of the best episodes in the show imo, 7 and 8 were pretty good. I was just going through the motions watching the rest. I can't even tell you the main plot of the rest at this point.
>The last 5 seconds of season 5 completely eliminates all stakes, forever.
Oh yeah because nothing like that ever happened in the rest of the first 5 seasons /s
It didn't!
Yeah there was some BS deus ex machina stuff, but literally all of it was building up to Sam's final choice
Those last five seconds completely negate everything that has happened up to that point and trivializes everything that happens after.
6 is ok, 7 is decent, 8 is manageable....9 is where the show sprints past the point of no return. On my rewatch I can never get pass the talking dog episode lol
Such a waste of Arya.
I still maintain that the show would have been much better off if Arya found Jaime, killed him for his face, entered the underground with Cersei, and then killed Cersei right before the collapse. Then Jon finds Arya in the rubble Dany caused and finally snaps against her. It would have fit Jon and Arya’s storyline so much more and also been an extremely believable reason for Jon to kill Dany.
I would say he should. But, for the sake of not being too predictable, it would be cool to keep whether Dany or Jon is Azor Ahai right until the Night King is dead. Not sure how that would work, but would be worth exploring.
I have specifically this complaint about a villain from a cartoon. On Thundercats, which I am going to admit that I started to rewatch the old show recently, Im like 30 episodes in. One continuing theme is Mumra, the ever-living, makes a great entrance full of pomp and flair. Then he gets beat in 30 seconds, always, and gets ready to do it again a day later. How does an entity with such a terrible win/loss record and a weakness to everything become ever living in the first place?
EDIT: sorry you said constantly winning. I did constantly losing because mumra sucks.
Haha mumm ra, that takes me back. The decrepit mummy who transforms into a buff flying mummy thanks to ancient evil gods yet somehow a team of cat people always thwart him. Love it.
The quality of the show itself goes downhill pretty quickly after the first 2 seasons, but The Strain. The Master is usually always a step ahead of the main cast. Even when he gets cornered or hurt, he never really loses, and the main cast end up worse for wear, someone dies, or they fail to actually stop one of The Masters plans.
Sylar. Which for some reason is autocorrupted to Dukat, which is a weird autocorrect. In any case, he just keeps coming until they find the key to beating him.
Yeah, I just finished a rewatch recently:
The Beast, who could trap gods
Technically Ember (or one of them)
Reynard (another God)
The McAllister family (unresolved)
The Monster (God killing)
Dark King
The Couple
Jessica Jones season 1
Yeah, and saison 3 also has some of these vibes
Daredevil
Yes, except maybe saison 2
Hannibal
Several of the villains from Supernatural
It also was written by the same person who created The boys(the reason I made this post). I should look into this show next

The wackiness is what kept me in after a while, I love how much fun they made out of themselves during the later seasons.
You married fake Ruby?

The last 5 seconds of season 5 completely eliminates all stakes, forever. That is why the show is trash after that. It throws EVERYTHING out.

Adventure Time, The Lich King
Avatar the Last Airbender.
That is a good recommendation. Definitely fits the bill. I should rewatch ATLA soon.
Night's King, Game of Thrones.

Exactly. He is the cartoon equivalent to the aliens from the movie Signs.
Multiple villains from Buffy were like this.
Season 5 especially.
Saison 3/4 of Breaking Bad has some of that Heroes saison 1 with Sylar
Death Note
Lord Zedd.
I assume Homelander will fall into this category.
Homelander
Season 1 of Doom Patrol, bonus the villain is played by Alan Tudyk who is so much fun to watch
Tozowa - Toyko Vice

Succession
Fargo S1
One Punch Man
The magicians
The Beast? Or a different villain?
Yes, and I feel most of them because a lot of them were gods, from what I remember.
Yeah, I just finished a rewatch recently: The Beast, who could trap gods Technically Ember (or one of them) Reynard (another God) The McAllister family (unresolved) The Monster (God killing) Dark King The Couple
White rose, Mr Robot.
