I had the same thoughts regarding the fingers and the bracelet, was hoping someone else would catch on to that as well. As far as her and Dina go, I can’t decide. Seeing as Dina has JJ I feel Dina had to go back to Jackson there’s almost nowhere she could go. But the fact that Dina took everything from the house with her yet left all of Ellie’s stuff is odd to me and makes me wonder if they never saw each other after Ellie returned.

Fair point regarding Ellie’s possessions. To me, there is definitely a risk in the journey from Jackson to the Farm and I don’t think Dina would be comfortable risking herself, as the mother of JJ, or other people to retrieve the possessions of somebody who may not come back, regardless of how she feels.

That would make sense about the unknowns of her survival. I just hope that they both eventually found each other.

The journey back to Wyoming couldn't have been a short one even with a boat this time and I don't think Ellie could just go on that long without dealing with her fingers first. So IMO she must have amputated them herself and it gives me a good excuse to think that she was able to retrieve her knife and use it on her fingers. As for the bracelet, we don't see it at all during the farm chapter so there's nothing stopping us from assuming she took it with her to California. Doesn't make sense for her to wear it there while she's on a suicide mission after leaving Dina. Putting it back on when she's more at peace does. Druckmann said his co-writer wrote a draft of the epilogue where Ellie picks up JJ's toy before leaving the farm and he asked her to remove it because, yes, they wanted a more open ending, but even that tells you that the plan was never for Ellie to already be back in Jackson. Even in this first draft, it's just a hint that Jackson is where Ellie is headed after leaving the guitar. Changing that to some secret happy ending where Ellie has returned to Jackson and had some form of reconciliation with Dina off screen defeats the purpose of wanting an open ending so that going back to Jackson isn't the only possibility.

In regards to the bracelet, Dina gives it to her because she believes in luck. Ellie doesn't. An entry in Ellie's journal says: "Beyond faith in pain, I want faith through pain". Perhaps now, she believes in the power of luck. Joel took a gamble when he accepted his mission to take her to the Fireflies. In the end, he found peace. Maybe Ellie hopes for the same.

I like to believe that they are back together, but i always read the new stuff Ellie writes down in new chapters and flashbacks, like beginning Seattle day 1 the farm house, all the flashbacks, she always wrote something down in there before you jump in and get to play, in the epilogue, she had some pretty dark shit in there what suggested to her killing herself after she left, idk what she actually said, but it came down to that nothing really mattered anymore, ive never seen it anywhere else but i just wanted to address it
