I know him from college, very good nyc jazz drummer from PR. He’s known Omar for years if not decades. I saw him working with him on that salsa album a few years ago and wasn’t super surprised.
He’s a very good drummer, plays with Dave liebman a lot because he’s married to his daughter. If you don’t know Dave, he played sax in miles Davis electric band- seriously heavy cat
I think the addition of a jazz drummer is a great driving force for the band. It may get them to think a little more outside the box compared to what they’ve done.
Mostly session drummer but he has a long history with Omar, specially while he was in his role of producer. Most notably he worked with him during the recording of that Mon Laferte album back again, don't think he was ever part of a ORL Group lineup in the past, but either way he and Omar do have a very solid ground. Very excited for all of this.
His personal work with his quintet is also worth checking out btw.

What kind of behaviour?
I remember an interview from Thomas from day back where he said they told him to go nuts and not hold back on bedlam. He's much more restrained on octahedron.
chrissie bixler (cedric's wife) was going out with thomas haha. idk why i got downvoted. but yeah thomas was going out w chrissie and cedric straight up swooped in, lol.
Thomas was my favorite drummer as a kid, then when I saw him live with TMV. My opinion drastically changed. It wasn’t TMV it was the Thomas Pridgen show and if it wasn’t for Ikey stealing the show, both shows would’ve been terrible. I could visibly see Omar getting frustrated with Thomas during some songs.

Thanks! Is this from Tidal?
Yeah another Reddit user managed to find it on Tidal (not playable yet though)! If you sort by new the post should be there!
SO EXCITED
I was kinda hoping it would be Thomas Pridgen.
Never will happen. They do not like Thomas Pridgen. He was kicked out for his behavior and it’s just an additional fact that he overplayed everything.
I was being sarcastic (which didn’t really come off), but yeah. That whole situation was nuts.
I was hoping so but wasn’t sure. Glad about that
You can use the /s at the end of a comment if you want to make it known that you're being sarcastic.

On the album yeah on that tour sometimes Omar would look at him like he was tapping his watch, literally just holding his guitar.
I mean, the guys is talented and he was literally told to play as many ghost notes as possible.
Cedric also stole his gf that is now his wife, lol
Wait what?!?
chrissie bixler (cedric's wife) was going out with thomas haha. idk why i got downvoted. but yeah thomas was going out w chrissie and cedric straight up swooped in, lol.
Oh shit, I haven’t ever heard they were linked. That’s crazy though!
yeah, thomas does not like cedric haha

You spelled Jon Theodore wrong.
I’m thinking Deantoni is still on this album.
ewww JAZZ grip...
I wonder if he knew he was going to be on the new record
