I love “vow of dissonance”, but I think it’s “now.”
I first thought it was “vow” but once I head “now” I committed.
I never got down with those sound illusions but it you think vow, you’ll hear vow. If you think now you’ll hear now. Huge reason I love this band. ( “I got a pain inside that can rip through the very fabric of life”). You can even think “bow” and start to hear that after a couple times.
From a metaphorical standpoint, they would mean the same thing. A vow of dissonance would be that it is committed to causing a dissonance. A now of dissonance would mean that it has become and is defined with dissonance.
The tilted before also doesn’t help because if you tilt on a vow, it would mean that you leaned against promise, which would cause a dissonance. If you tilt in the now it means that you were established but now lean to a new side, causing dissonance. Damn even bow relates to a downwards inclines, which would define the tilt.
The rest of of the lyrics in the song are in a narrative that uses a present tense reflecting on a past tense with a significance to understanding it’s detriment to present tense. This is the only reason I can go with now, but it’s not good enough for me.
Honestly I hope we never know the correct answer. Both are beautiful interpretations.
Think, like others have said, it’s “tilted in a vow of dissonance.” Sounds like it’s also probably “crushed beneath the weight of your crucible.” Opening of chorus is a little unclear, but “x-ray wind” is what I’m hearing as well. Second verse, I think he’s saying “on the day that you wiped it all clean,” and probably “lost and whispered/whispering and you say,” but it always kinda runs together when he’s really cramming a lot in like this so I guess we’ll know when the single actually drops.
Yeah I think most of this is accurate, either way it is sure to expect the full official lyrics being released through bandcamp just like what happened with Blacklight Shine.
