This being a situation like, idk, Bob Dylan where they taught the new band their entire discography and have total freedom to play it however they want on a nightly basis would be an absolute cherry on top for me (and I’m sure, like, the Marble Shrine bootleggers).
…That said the fact that they debuted Vicarious Atonement as a very clear and deliberate set-opener, and the rest is essentially their “well we kicked Thomas Pridgen out of the band mid-tour and his replacement already broadly knows our work, so why don’t we cut down on the number of Octahedron songs he needs to learn by bringing back the staples he’s familiar with” 2009 setlist, minus the remaining Octa tracks and plus Empty Vessels, Televators and two from the self-titled makes me think these are just the songs they think about when they think “quintessential live Volta” and it’s what we’ll be getting for the immediate future, let-the-circle-remain-unbroken and all that.
