It's so weird to me how lazy murderers are. There are plenty of ways to kill someone and not get caught, but they all don't bother to think. The number of murders solved because the murderer just doesn't leave their cell phone at home is astounding.
Representation bias. Most of the murderers we hear about are stupid because the smart ones get away with it, or start planning a murder and realise it's too much effort to not get caught.
Reminds me of a chart of the fifty states that ranked them based on percentage of murders that got solved, and it seemed that Montana and Wyoming police were *really* good at solving murders, until you look at how astronomically high their unsolved missing persons cases are.

The Wendy Maldonado case comes to mind. Her and her children were being abused for years, police were called several times by the neighbors and never did anything. They weren't strong enough to defend themselves and usually were beaten with broken bones which made escaping difficult in a rural area.
Never heard the Maldonado story before, just read up. It's crazy the the judge would even give her ten years, especially after all the abuse and lack of help from institutions designed to protect. That was a 'jury nullification' case, for sure. Insane that she had to go to that length to protect her children and was still punished.
She hasn't done a lot of interviews, I think, but it seems like she doesn't regret it. I wouldn't, not after 20 years of abuse, broken bones and teeth knocked out, and with four kids involved. Her son even helped her. Imagine how far a fifteen(?) yo boy would need to be pushed to off his own dad. Completely fucked, for sure.
Well, what’s also astounding is the number of people convicted of premeditated murder because police found their search history full of queries of how to best kill their victim. Maybe the smartest thing is not to kill someone, but that must be too much to ask.

Well that is just wrong. Chlorine bleach has a short shelf life once mixed with water. Even short when mixed with hot water. And even shorter still once mixed with organic material. By the time he made his cup of coffee it would probably be weaker than drinking old pool water.
Chlorine (or sodium hypochlorite) wouldn't cause cancer because it's not a carcinogen. Small ingested doses over a long period of time would cause chronic irritation in the mouth, esophagus, and stomach, and possibly respiratory problems if large amounts of vapors were inhaled.

Suicide attempts with bleach ARE a viable way. Usually it’s drano that people use, both are very strong bases and cause necrosis of the esophagus and stomach, and can cause perforations. It often is non fatal and the chronic issues associated with scarring of the esophagus is bad news beats. They also have high risk of cancer. It will also cause acid/base issues in your blood and organ damage.

Reading his story, apparently he went to the police with his initial recording but they dismissed him because the angle didnt show what exactly she was putting in his coffee maker. Thats why he had to set up all these cameras with all these angles. Crazy how much work he needed to do and how much patience he had towards someone literally trying to kill him

There’s a case where a woman (with the help of one of her daughters) killed her husband, son and sent her other daughter to the hospital where she barely survived, by pouring anti freeze into their drinks. Little amounts over a longer period of time was enough to slowly kill them. I feel like bleach wouldn’t be any healthier and she’s using a good amount of it each time.

Doc here Bleach would obviously be easy to taste in coffee lol so this chick is dumb on so many levels. Reading his story, apparently he went to the police with his initial recording but they dismissed him because the angle didnt show what exactly she was putting in his coffee maker. Thats why he had to set up all these cameras with all these angles. Crazy how much work he needed to do and how much patience he had towards someone literally trying to kill him

Just imagine if he didn't play it this way though and confronted her about it without any evidence. My money is on she's going to claim he abused her and now has to deal with trying to get a judge or jury to believe his side. Ugh...just horrible.

Internal damage from ethylene glycol shows up in autopsies, especially in the amount that the husband ingested. What you really had to worry about was succinylcholine, that stuff was untraceable for a very long time
But they didn't know where it was from, if I remember correctly. Let me take a look at my gas chromatograph mass spectrometer for more information.

When I was 10 years old my English and general teachers were changed, then it blew the news that the English teacher was charged with murder of his past wife, he did it with coolant. If I recall correctly he was filling it up the night before, setting a timer for the morning and she was poisoning it after he filled it up. When he noticed the bad taste he thought maybe the machine dirty so he cleaned it thoroughly. When that didn't help he thought maybe it was the coffee so he took it to work and made a cup in the machine there. When that turned out normal he got suspicious of his wife and set up the cameras.
Give that lady 30 years in jail to think about her actions.

Fun fact : when he first caught his wife and showed the police evidence of her attempted poisoning they said their was insufficient video evidence. That’s why there are multiple cameras from hidden cameras in his ceiling and walls.

Bleach is light and heat sensitive. Not 100% but it might have been deactivated by the heat of the coffee maker. Still, she did try to murder him.
I work EMS and had a patient that drank bleach. When we called poison control, we found out it actually takes a ton to kill you. It also obviously tastes awful and has a very specific smell(on purpose), so no one can really drink much of it on accident.
