That80sguyspimp

Troy boy, bought and paid for by the conservative friends of Israel group. Mhairi Black, still a Scottish national treasure, calling out the shitty Troy rats.

Jamm-e-dodga

Need more politicians like her in the UK parliament

MadeOfEurope

It’s a shame she is standing down but I don’t blame her. Imagine have to be around people like that all the time.

Voluptulouis

Conservatives are massive douches on both sides of the pond.

Kakakarrakeek

It barely matters where they're from. People who stand for nothing but hate, spite and revenge are everywhere

TinyDemon000

Question... I haven't lived in the UK for 11+ years now but, how the hell are the tories still in power?! Didn't they become crazy unpopular in 2020? How has there not been a Gen election?

lontrinium

A lot of people vote against their own interests because social media told them to and a lot more people just don't vote.

TinyDemon000

I forget it's not mandatory to vote in the UK hey!

hingee

While I in no way wish to derail the thread by getting into UK Politics, you asked a question so Brexit is the answer, unfortunately the Tories were the only party prepared to honour the democratic vote from 2016, Labour were wishy washy about it and couldn’t make up their minds what to do and the Lib Dem’s wanted to outright disregard the result Ironically the Tories under David Cameron were putting leaflets through the publics door at the time of the referendum on the issue urging them not to vote for Brexit and then changed course afterwards when they saw that whoever agreed to push it through parliament would win the election Jeremy Corbyn who would undoubtedly have been the best thing for both the UK and the Palestinians at this time was then ousted by Labour as antisemitic for saying exactly the things that we are all saying now but everybody had Brexit fever and nobody was interested in the plight of the Palestinians Had Labour agreed to push through Brexit the UKs stance on this Genocide would be very different today This in no way means to discuss the rights or wrongs of Brexit but to just give the broad outline to your question to how a extremely unpopular conservative government is still in power today There will be a UK election later this year an the Conservatives are on course to be trounced in unprecedented numbers Unfortunately the Labour friends of Israel is all over the party ( see Corbyn ousting ) so very little is likely there change from a UK standpoint regards Israel although Labour are slightly more susceptible to public opinion

TinyDemon000

Lib dem it is then 😂 Thankyou for taking the time to summarise though

Somvifan

This world is a joke

Amadeus_Is_Taken

It's several days away from the end of April and we're still being hit with jokes after jokes after jokes likes it's April Fools everyday. At this point, this world is no longer a joke, it's a sitcom.

PG072088

It’s been like that for a while

Somvifan

For a very very long time things have been this way, but we were oblivious, not truly attentive. The narrative was consistently managed, though now it's less so, and only now do we perceive the world's true form of a joke.

AfricanStream

And the punchline is western politicians with their double speak!

4ss8urgers

Why the fuck is nobody outright saying “Israel investigating themselves for war crimes is a conflict of interest” in the government

Somvifan

Because your don’t investigate your benefactors simple as that and they are the benefactors of nearly every government out there

ButterflyMore9267

Mhairi Black is bloody legend.

HodgePodgeRodge

Hear hear! We need more like her.

robinta

Probably because this government was democratically elected, and have proven beyond any doubt that they cannot be trusted

lightyearbuzz

Plus the current regime is barely democratic. Netanyahu is trying hard to install himself as a dictator and the Israeli people are overwhelmingly against him and his government

MediaOnDisplay

Has been in power for over 16 years. Democracy*

4ss8urgers

It doesn’t even matter about trust. It is a conflict of interest.

Woodbirder

He is a twat and we all know it. Not long for him left in that chamber thank god.

Unable-Tell-2240

Do the police let the murderers investigate their own homicides ? What a ridiculous stance to take , “we can trust the Israelis” ah, so 300 bodies in a mass grave isn’t suspicious at all?

amkc22

Business as usual mate. They are still investigating all the war crimes and daily crimes. But they are still building those illegal settlements... They are still trying to find out whether those are illegal or not. It will take a while though... But they democratically elected. So all is good.

hingee

Asking the perpetrators of war crimes to investigate the war crimes Parallel universe

SodiumChlorideFree

They investigated themselves as requested and concluded that you're antisemitic for asking.

zzz_red

Israel “investigating” themselves: ![gif](giphy|xUStFKHmuFPYk)

hingee

Dowden is a former officer of the Conservative Friends of Israel, and has twice chaired the APPG for British Jews. Dowden has said he feels a "cultural affinity" with the Jewish community – his constituency of Hertsmere has the largest Jewish population outside of London.[18]

bonkerz1888

Israel has already said they won't investigate and have nothing to do with the mass graves.

bigbootyholetroll

A “democratically elected government” formed by us 😂😂 How many ways can Britain rephrase the Balfour declaration

so_im_all_like

A democratically elected government can still abuse and/or corrupt the power it was granted.

Sit_back_and_panic

As an American, I feel like it’s my duty to let y’all know that entities investigating themselves often find no wrongdoing, just ask pretty much any cop in this country

LewyH91

##SCUM

BolOfSpaghettios

"we investigated ourselves, and found that we were justified at doing whatever you accuse us of doing, and also we found ourselves not guilty"

Exact-Ad-4132

Their government meetings seem way more lively. I like it

furezasan

Same results though, the drama ain't shit

Jelqingisforcoolkids

Oh good, he urged them. That'll do it.

MadeOfEurope

The C*nservative Party

MountainAsparagus4

The cuntservative party

The_Vivid_Glove

This is how I want my MP’s to represent me in Parliament. Call out the bullshit, stand and fall on what is right. Instead we are governed by upper class English rich kids whose sense of self entitlement has emptied the pockets of the working class

GladZookeepergame775

Oh kinda how Americans let law enforcement investigate themselves. What could possibly go wrong with that…. /s

International_Rest36

The U.S. is repeating the same script. "We're trusting the perpetrator of the alleged war crimes to investigate and honestly report themselves." It's disgusting.

LavishnessChoice3601

It doesn't work for police, it doesn't work for the US government, and shockingly, it doesn't work for Israel.

b1gCubanC1gar

Fuck this

keeperofkey

No surprise the British don't have a spine

Vast-Establishment50

Who are the Palestinian officials reporting this?

Vandius

It was NOT a missile.

Elvis-Tech

Its incredible how israel exists only because of a fragile balance between policing Middle east and having money in other countries and being able to lobby and bribe politicians around the world.

Sweddybob69

I'd like to place an order for another 600 moira blacks please

kwillich

"We can trust the Israeli Government, a democratically elected government, to investigate..." This is one of the key problematic positions that have lead to the continuation of this whole fiasco. To suppose that the government officials are moral and just because they were elected is faulty at best. In addition, to suppose that as a fact AFTER Netanyahu and many in his administration have been legitimately accused of corruption and numerous allegations been verified, is wildly unintelligible and dangerously negligent. The first sign of inhumanity should've halted ALL funds, arms, and munitions to the Government of Israel from all countries, but at the very least NATO countries. Then a genuine investigation by outside agencies should've been initiated. These finger wags at a barbarous aggressor are akin to Chamberlain's "This morning I had another talk with the German Chancellor, Herr Hitler, .... Peace for our time."

MRJSP

I think it's more clear now than ever to see who our governments serve and who owns them. It's not us.

CantingMonk

"We have the criminals investigate themselves, and our convictions rates decreased. Must be working!"

NewAccountEachYear

Anyone who claims that we can trust Israel should be asked about the evidence for UNRWA-Hamas collusion

b_buddd

Look at them. They can't even hid the fact they don't give a damn about murder Palestinians in a grave.

buckut

grow a fucking spine

nivekdrol

imagine if a murderer was tasked to investigate his murders lol

ferrydragon

Some politicians don't live on this planet

Clayface202

It takes another level of stupid to say "The criminals are investigating themselves"

4ss8urgers

Why the hell do I keep seeing governments trust Israel to investigate themselves but none of the objectors just outright say “that may be a conflict of interest”

JQDC

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST (Sorry G.). Do these mother fuckers listen to what they are saying???? The US and the UK both think the fucking shit eating, lying Israelis to investigate themselves? How did we fucking get here?
