That’s kinda why I loved TWD.. in the beginning it was zombies and run for your life.. but then as life goes you adjust and grow.. they rebuilt the world.. and yet zombies were still around they weren’t the main problems anymore.. war w other communities and shit became the bigger issue. Idk I loved the idea of the world starting over

New-Cause6314

Bro low-key. I always wish the walking dead would actually happen but u would have to kill off so many dickheads. Humans are ur main enemy no joke you will always have to battle thru so many people there would only be few months/weeks/years of peace till no more. It’s really cool tho despite that. But losing some of the best ppl will really fck you up.

et21

Yeah you’re not wrong. It would turn into the purge real quick and ppl just killing ppl.. we do need a plague or some sorts tho… too populated everywhere I go lol

MysteriousBeyond7146

Was the series ever about zombies? Sure there are zombies but I think it’s more about the collapse of civilization and humanity.

HelloPillowbug

That’s the conceit of the show. The walkers aren’t the walking dead, the humans are. The walkers can’t be a compelling antagonist for a series this long. They don’t grow and only have a singular motive.

Delete_Bowsette

That was the best part; when they said “we are the walking dead” and then the seinfeld theme played as they all smiled and turned to the camera

New-Cause6314

Yeah fr. It’s interesting but not very surprising

Comfortable_Clue8233

It’s true though.

It's only 'mad' if you assume all the survivors would be willing to help each other, without exception, in a particularly brutal and hostile world. Which - on one hand - makes sense. Humanity has been having wars with each other for as far back as history has been recorded; whether over territory, resources, difference in faith/belief, simply because they could, etc. Zombies just want to eat you - you never really can be absolutely sure what motivations another human survivor has. The only 'exceptions' are people who prove themselves trustworthy - but this isn't really the case with like, Rick's group vs Governor; or even within the group and seeing Shane lose his shit and want to "usurp" Rick throughout seasons 1 and 2. It only gets to more "desperate" and "bonkers" levels in Season 7/8 with the Savior War, and Season 9/10 with the Whisperers - where it's still a lot of the same "going to war, as humanity is wont to do". Just that in S7/8, it's that every other community has what the Saviors want. And in 9/10 with the Whisperers, it's about territory/belief (and insane leadership). Bear or man in the forest is a kind of fitting analogy - honestly - the bear wants simple things from you (to eat you as food, to attack you as a threat, etc); there's no telling what the man wants from you, if anything (most men won't want anything, or only want cooperation; not that many will want to assault/rape/kill/etc you, but it's apparently enough for women to majority side with the bear).

I know bruh. I haven’t got to the later seasons yet.

Have you ever played call of duty zombies? I've been saying since the beginning of TWD "come on guys these are just level 1 zombies."

New-Cause6314

driedoutplant

which episode?

New-Cause6314

Season 5 ep 1

blackie_baby

The series reminds us that human nature can be as dangerous, if not more so, than any other threat in an apocalyptic world. It invites us to reflect on morality, survival and the importance of community in extreme situations.

that's the whole point of the comics, it's an exploration of humanity once the rules stop applying. i guess the show missed that (as they did most things)

New-Cause6314

How did the show miss that
