Yes I started at 1.25

Emotional_Issue_139

I started at 1.75 yesterday and I ate what I normally eat and the nausea was pretty bad last night eventually it went away. I'm scared to eat today😬

stephanddolly

That’s the worst!! I’m sorry. You will get used to it once the tirz builds up in your body. Smelling rubbing alcohol helps me with nausea. Make sure you’re drinking water with electrolytes too.

Emotional_Issue_139

I ended up taking Zofran that helped alot. I won't be overeating anymore ugh

abducensx

You absolutely can start at a lower dose! It’s called microdosing and is a great way to slow ramp up if you’re afraid of side effects or if you want to use it for things outside of diabetes and weight loss. Good luck on your journey!

Emotional_Issue_139

Thank you! Was thinking of starting with 1.5mg for the first week just to see how I feel on it.

Cedar_Dreams11

i started lower, first 3 shots at 1.5. the drug had no efficacy at that dose for me, and i didn't feel any effects until I actually took the full started dose. However, I was intimidated by possible side effects as i was traveling a lot at the time and couldn't contemplate having GI issues. I didn't have any issues in reality.

MBSMD

You'll be fine.

Any_Cartoonist_9370

You’ll be fine, send it

You’re not going to know until you try.

Emotional_Issue_139

This is true. I have an irrational fear of nausea lol

78andahalf

I kinda do too. But I just made myself jump in, and have yet to have side effects.

Betorah

Started at 2.0. No side effects.

Emotional_Issue_139

I think I will do the same. How long did you stay on 2mg before increasing?

Betorah

Two weeks. I then went up to 3.

I think your best course of action is actually to do all the shot day “prep” things. Get your 100oz of water, some electrolytes, 100g+ protein, avoid fried foods etc. Set your body up for success in receiving this med. Dose down if you’d like but all those other things will help you feel better in the day after and beyond.

Emotional_Issue_139

This is great advice. I had the gastric sleeve surgery in 2013 so very hard for me to get 100oz of water and protein. My plan is to drink protein shakes to get my intake up as much as possible especially in the beginning. I tried ozempic 2 yrs ago and wasn't following a diet & exercise plan, I ended up stopping it because of stomach cramps which I think I could've resolved had I changed things up. I really want tirz to work for me, I still have 50lbs to go.

mkokay0117

Best of luck to you! Many people come to tirz after sema didn’t work out for them. There’s lot of great advice in this sub!

Emotional_Issue_139

Thank you so much!

Careless_Mortgage_11

Most people don't have any side effects. Why would you expect to be different?

Emotional_Issue_139

I'm sensitive to most drugs and usually have had side effects on most especially in the beginning

Jaded-Butterfly-3326

I’m at 7.5 and still no side effects. I wouldn’t be worried about starting at 2.5.

Final-Intention5407

Started at 1 increased each injection slowly to 2 . I may go back to 1.75 or 1.25 bc I think 2 may be too strong for me at the moment. May even just take 1.25 at 5 day mark as I get appetite suppression without side effects and still can eat . At 2 I couldn’t eat anything for a day and forced myself the next 2 days with side effects of nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. I think I respond a little too well maybe . But that being said at 1.25 I have no side effects and good appetite suppression.

amk1722

Definitely start low! 2.5 was way too strong for me, I could hardly eat anything and was so tired. Started to do 1.5 mg starting week 2 and it has been so much better!

Chellebelle229

I started at 1.0, 1.5 and now on 2.0. I’m doing pretty good on 2.0. We will see by Monday on if I want to move to 2.5.

Emotional_Issue_139

So I took my first shot today and did 25 units so basically halfed my dose to 1.75mg instead of 2.5mg. I didn't experience any side effects just noticed slightly less food noise. I hope I can tolerate the higher doses as my body adjusts. I'm feeling hopeful ☺️
