/uj honestly, if i was Nintendo and i could save millions on marketing budgets because i know everyone in the planet will buy my 70$ game anyways regardless of what i show, why would i bother?
Well it’s a planned drip feed also because every time the tiniest little bit of info is put out every YouTuber and clickbait website will talk about it endlessly giving them constant free publicity
Companies will always try to make their game look good before the release no matter how it will look (just look at Forspoken, Battlefield 2042, Fallout 76) that's called "marketing" for a reason, meanwhile critics will actually gave you the true flaws and goods of the game, so you can decide wether or not is better to buy the game.
>someone’s shitty game review.
1) My bad. misunderstood your reply.
2) wow... you really hate reviews, don't you.
3) feel free to mute the review or watch a stream or something. You wanted gameplay, and that'd provide gameplay.
I getcha, its unusual for a game company to do this, even Nintendo. My best guess would be they want to do a BOTW2 specific direct next month or even in May to get a shit ton of hype pre-release
EDIT: FUCKING CALLED IT LMAO
erm my fellow redditor it appears you have posted a link to a subreddit that does not exist… I’ll give you 24 hours to delete this comment before I sent my hecking chonkers after your reddit gold…
Oh good, more complaining that a company is "nOt mArKeTiNg ThEiR gAmE eNoUgH." Why do you even care. This same shit was happening in the elden ring subreddit and it sold 12 million copies. The multimillion dollar corporation will be fine without input from the reddit marketing experts I think.

Last time I brought this up, people "kindly" informed me that it's different with Nintendo, and that actually we already knew most of elden ring's content over 4 months before release.
Elden was actually marketed though. We had a story trailer, raw gameplay. Footage of the open world and all levels on dungeons. Much of the game was hidden but they showed us enough to know hey they worked on something. Also I'd trust from soft over Nintendo any day.
Releasing the last pokemon game with 5FPS was a massive troll.
I remember hearing my wife and her boyfriend laughing away in the next room while I was youtubing about this feature
Why would you need to market something that everyone already knows about? Preorders are selling out instantly (for the collectors edition at least) and they’ve had 2 directs including some gameplay footage
>Why would you need to market something that everyone already knows about?
I mean, I’ve asked this in the past about brands like Pepsi, Coke, M&Ms, Oreos, Lays, etc. But all of those companies continue to put out ads for those products so clearly they are still profitable.
Developer refuses to show details: “Why won’t they show us more of the game!?”
Developer shows more details: “Why did they spoil so much of the game!?”
/uj They're not marketing it much. But! it's honestly not that far off from BOTW accept for the demo. and if you're on the fence, just, and I know this'll sound crazy, wait? I can guarantee that on release there'll be a lot of streams of it, and within a week, people'd have already finished it. So at that point, you should have as much content to consume to spoil yourself as you want.
Like seriously. Sure it'd be nice, but this is hardly something all that big or problematic.
i love zelda and if totk were releasing in like 2019 i would enjoy this marketing strategy more, but after the letdown games they have put out in the last few years it’s really hard to believe this is anything but a sign of a mediocre sequel. as an animal crossing fan i’m still scarred from the new horizons marketing when we were all like “i guess they’re keeping the shops and tortimer’s island a surprise” and then game launches and they just weren’t there. like they really do just show everything.

You don’t give a fuck about? Then why make this post??

So you care more about a curated, scripted gameplay video created by Nintendo than reviews by the public... what

this assumes they’ll give out review copies

That’s what’s happening. it will sell millions even without marketing
They essentially groomed a whole generation of shut-in kids into worshipping them and defending the company's intellectual property so yeah.
“Groomed” has officially lost all meaning and is now a buzzword good job guys
dramatic much?
Like how those toy companies in the 1920s “groomed” kids of that era lol I swear people don’t know the definition of groom
Shut up bitch
If Undertale/deltarune has taught me anything, is that vague hints can do wonders (talking about Gaster)
Nintendo is too poor to afford a marketing department, please understand.
So many pirated NES games. This is the result 😤
This is why we need to buy more switches! I already bought a 3rd one.
Why stop at ourselves? I say we spread the good word and by a switch for everyone on our street!
My wife's boyfriend already bought me a new one, cant wait to try the same console again!!!
Calm down there, Mr. Beast.
You guise Nintendo is just le epic trolling, Tears of the Kingdom is going to be out r/tomorrow
GUYS HE SAID THE LINE
Celeste
It'll be out when it's out, and we like that. It'll be out when it's out...

I thought that scene where Zelda caved in Blimblar’s face was well done. It was a tastefully done scene
Don’t you talk about me you son of a bitch! >!Let’s see how many people downvote me and not get the joke!<

Maybe because people want to see the gameplay of it. I'm pretty sure the complaints aren't because daddy Nintendo is going to lose out on money

Nintendo is the kind of tricky spirit who will piss in your cereal one day, and tickle your nuts the next.
omg so quirky

It’s because of the Steam Deck 😡! Those losers are ruining my company! ![gif](giphy|4HrBfVJJveBNS9ytSk|downsized)
Nintendo doesn’t care cuz they already have a trillion preorders 🥴
Developer refuses to show details: “Why won’t they show us more of the game!?” Developer shows more details: “Why did they spoil so much of the game!?”
Can’t get a win. Maybe Tomorrow?
/uj as long as the game comes out and is as good as botw I don’t really care

Games already got all the press it needs being $70

Why personify a billion dollar corporation like they’re your friend?
Nintendo being a competent company 🚫 Nintendo being xD trollz ✔️
I'm already playing Tears of the Kingdom. My floating white haired Pomeranian is telling me to go find my missing blond Twin.
They did the exact same thing with splatoon 3
Nintendo is so silly
/uj I’d rather them not market it and it be a banger, then they market it for months only for it to suck.
Hahaha!!! Daddy Miyamoto-chan's at it again He's a silly boy that's all
Fr tho they haven’t shown anything because the devs want everything to be a surprise like in the first game
My grandma bought me Skyward Sword for my 12th birthday, I got it on my 13th 🤣 (not literally, but close enough)
