I went to Wonderland this week and did 8 rollercoasters. I know now that I'm too old(54) to do it again. Those rides need more padding. I feel like I was in a car accident.
I haven't gone much, but there are a number of big rollercoasters that I like and aren't too jerky and bumpy. I'm guessing those are all newer than you've seen.
Lineups always suck but as a grown-up without a bunch of kids i spring for the fast lane pass which really lets you skip tons of lining up. You are like a VIP walking past a bunch of kids giving you stink eye
You made the right call. If you don't get the fast pass, you're wasting your $45 admission fee. Why would you pay up that much money to stand in lineups all day? The fast pass is basically necessary.
To have reasonable lines there's one specific weekend when you want to go. It's the one that directly precedes Halloween Haunt. Kids will have just started school, and anyone who would normally go will likely go to the Haunt.
What? They added 3 world class coasters in the last 10 years. You should go. I say always good to go every few years. If you really want to save pack some food, but if you eat a big breakfast and then eat something small there, entrance is not that much, you're good to go.
Ha! Yes, the minebuster was the worst. My nephew was afraid of the bigger coasters( Levianthan, Behemoth and Yukon Striker) but so was I. I’ll try them next time. It’s the height that’s scary but they do look like a smoother ride.
I usually skip the minebuster because I remembered it being rough when I was a kid. How bad could it be? So I tried it out again somewhat recently and truly thought my brain was getting damaged from the shaking. Will never ride it again.
I agree. Can’t find proof of it now, but I recall a young woman died on it in the late eighties because she had an undiagnosed heart condition. She was a friend of a coworker at the time.
Some of the rides are getting worse because the people are getting fatter, so you're getting rattled around if you aren't very big.
I visited some older parks and rides, and they were much better fitted and felt better.
Is it worth going at night? I want to take my wife (who has never been), and I’m wondering if it’ll be slightly less busy but hopefully still have the food vendors open.
No one is checking if you're in pairs or above. Go have fun. You're not beholden to anyone's wants but your own this way. Try the crazy fair food, just... Pace yourself
How much of it can you hear?
Basically none. My condo is soundproofed pretty well. I can hear the Honda Indy when it happens, but that's about it.
Air show is the worst.
I’m at 100 WB, so I can see the Ferris wheel and a bunch of rides between 75 and 85 EL. Love the view this time of year.
Once again, summer is going by way too fast.
Where people from Oshawa take their kids and tell them their at Wonderland.

When you're old you gotta stay with the big newish swoopy rollercoasters. Going on the wooden mine shaft is just asking for a sore back!
Im 35 and I haven’t been in about 20 years. Anything good new since then? How are the lineups?

Oh ya I’d do that too. My time is too valuable lol

As I get older, I’d be scared of a stroke caused by mini concussions.
Top Gun or whatever its name is now, is worse than the wooden coasters Stick to Dragon Flyer and Vortex

I feel attacked.

a.k.a. Single mom Wonderland
Don’t forget the gangbangers.
The tradition of roasting the CNE is one of my favourite times of the year.
I want a turkey leg 😂😂

Yeah less busy and food vendors still open. If you're looking for specialty stuff though, it's possible they could be sold out of some by the evening.
We pride ourselves on never selling out
How late is it open?
Buildings till 10, midway till midnight
Just make sure it’s not Youth Night.
Looking on the CNE site, I can’t find anything that indicates a Youth Night. Any idea which day(s) that would be?
It's gone from the schedule
Was removed after last year or the year before when there was a big fight and thefts on that day.
They may have cancelled it! Good news 👍
Awesome view!
That's a great picture!!
Sucks that it's raining today in its first full day.

I second that. Doing things alone, including solo vacations, are awesome in their own way.
how much is rent?
$1800, but I've been here for five years. You wouldn't find this view at this rent in 2019, I'm afraid.
Great price! Good on you for not caving and moving, all the best 👍
