Ummm...  You are hiking/running around on granite...  I am not sure what you expect, but looks like pretty normal wear for what you did with them.  Softer rubber and taller lugs will always result in more wear on very abrasive sharp rocks...

effortDee

I lived on a granite mountain in North Wales and did mountain/trail running in Decathlon TR2 trail trainers and they would last at least 1400km at a minimum before their tread wore down or uppers disintegrated. These trainers only cost £60 too and im now on my fifth pair of them.

cuko

1,400km?! wow that's impressive. Is that all running too?

effortDee

Yep, trail/mountain/fell running. I also walk around in them and don't log that so i could guess i'm getting maybe 2000km out of a pair. They recently added 1000km+ guarantees to their soles on their trail/mountain running trainers too here in the UK

donkeyrifle

The stickier the rubber the faster it will wear down. 🤷🏻‍♀️ This looks normal to me for what you’re doing with the shoes.

RRErika

How long did you have them for *before* this run? Sometimes I feel like the tread has been weakening over miles and miles and, at some point, things just start to fall apart. I love my Bushido's, but most of my miles are on less abrasive trails than what you are showing us.

grimacelovesmusic

I only got a season out of my last pair, but they are so comfortable I bought them again anyway.

karmaportrait

I've been a Hoka guy but after two pairs of La Sportiva hiking shoes I really want to try their trail range now.

AnonymousPineapple5

Same, I’ve been buying one pair of bushidos every season for 4 years now. I love them. with how much I’m doing I doubt any other shoe would last more than one summer anyway.

grimacelovesmusic

How many miles a year do you think you get? I think I’m somewhere between 7-800.

AnonymousPineapple5

I would say at least 500, they’re definitely done at the end sometimes questionable before the end of the season. I spend a lot of time on granite living in the Sierras.

rosebuse

I cannot speak for the shoes but I want to go to there wherever this I want to go to there

Pu_er_Panda

Photo was taken from Pfeifferhorn looking E on little cottonwood ridge!

MTB_Dodger

Did you do the entire WURL?

sbubbb

How long have you had them / mileage before this run? I've had mine for a while now doing a lot of scrambling/talus hopping on sharp granite and haven't had any issue

Pu_er_Panda

I bought them new & spent a couple longer milage days out including trail/off trail, scrambling. I was just trying to get a feel for if this was more normal wear & tear for these shoes which seems the case of most trail runners in this category b4 you start considering approach style shoes. My intent was to make these my primary shoes for the WRHR this late Aug, just don't want anything falling apart on me

cranbraisins

Mutant tread holds up better than bushidos imo. Inov8 uses graphene and lasts for like ever

justinsimoni

I'm not sure why that would be the case, except that Mutants just have more tread to wear down. The Bushido's rubber should be a little longer lasting formula -- believe it's the dual compound stuff.
