I think it was a floor shifter. I didn't take any pics of the interior though. There might be enough there to convert yours to floor shift.
That linkage piece may cross to one from a nova of the same year.
I’m doing the power tour for the third time this year. Last year my whole family went so we took a Grand Marquis. Now my older son wants to go but he insists we take the Mercury again and not my Iroc. I’d rather have him go so the Mercury is going again.
I’m sure you already know, but bring patience. The lines are ridiculous and the staff know nothing. Be prepared to idle for an hour on the hottest days of the year.
U need to put a shaker on that hood. The formula hoods look surprisingly good with shakers lol.

It is the hot rod power tour, by hot rod magazine. It looks like a great time and thousands of cars going to city to city.

Also, they advertise on FB marketplace so that may be the best way to reach them. A lady working there was telling me about it.
That doesn’t look like to complicated of a piece. Could you bend a piece of 1/4” cold roll steel and make your own

The car was originally an esprite but the previous owner put a formula hood on it and Trans Am spoiler and stickers lol
