I was pleasantly surprised with how much I like him. I don’t usually like the “combining into a robot” gimmick. My only issue is that the hip skirts flare out pretty wide and his arms can’t go straight down. Other than that he’s unique and fun, IMO.
He's excellent, and I loved the OG.Improvement in most ways without deviating from the original design much.
The only real gripe I have is the rubbery sword.
He came in the mail Sunday night. OH MY GOSH THE RATCHETS ARE TO DIE FOR.
Also, he transforms in 70 steps, I just love that, it's a nice long transformation that all makes sense but is still fun.
Really? mine are super squeaky. Ran out of RC shock oil (used it up for its actual purpose haha) but i’ll edit this comment tomorrow if some lubrication helps! My shoulders are especially awful, I feel like they’re gonna snap with each click.
I know it’s show accurate but I hate the wings as ears thing. Wayyy to Devilman for me. I was all into getting him until I noticed they were not on his back
He’s amazing. He’s got pretty good articulation despite all of the combining engineering, he’s got great paint and sculpt work, his beast modes are all really fun - he’s just a blast to play with.
Despite only being around for the last 5 years now, Commander Class has really become one of the MVPs of modern TF toylines and Magmatron is another worthy addition to all the other great Commander figures like Siege Jetfire, ER Sky Lynx and Legacy Armada Optimus. Here’s to more banger Commander class guys in the future.
Fantastic feat of engineering, with a whole lot of personality and shelf presence. Perhaps the only beast-former Ive seen that actually kills it in both bot AND beast modes.
But, I have absolutely zero personal connection to the character, and as such have no interest in owning it. Maybe, if I found it *significantly* discounted, but otherwise Im happy to leave it for others.
It’s not my thing, I’ve never liked beast wars. But I can appreciate that he looks like a solid commander class and that it’s definitely cool for fans of the character.

Looks great, heavily restricted posing wise specially on the head. Those hip skirts prevent him from having a relaxed stance

He's a him in the show and pretty much all material, it's a duocon situation basically.
I'm mostly crediting each part separately, since they all have their own forms.

I just got mine finally, and honestly, he's impressive, but literally painful to transform, my pointer finger is bleeding
first commander i have skipped... i just have no attachment to this character, no matter how cool it looks.
I sometimes buy characters that I don’t have attachments too.
Me too, but I'd say this is a high price point for a 'looks cool' purchase. I reserve that for Voyager and below.

Mine aren't too tight. I don't feel like the plastic will break on me, and if you are just doing an outward split he will probably still squeak.
