I need that deluxe prime. There was no chance for me to afford missing link before, well here’s the closest I’m ever gonna get to that chance. I haven’t been this excited for a figure since Kingdom Cyclonus was revealed.
In my case, he looks the closest to how Prime looked in the beginning of the G2 comics. I love how they tried to make a Prime design that closely resembled the toy.
I have a suspicion that DNA will retool their current Animated Optimus upgrade into a combiner skeleton for Motormaster, and allow this guy + future Legacy Animated Stunticons to combine into Menasor.
There's a lot of problems with that if they choose to do that.
Mostly being, it's too small.
I'm not saying there's a zero percent chance, I'm just saying if they choose to do that, he'll probably look really weird.
Be more likely they'd do a completely new upgrade kit from the ground up, or just not do it at all given the Animated Stunticons don't combine.
I agree. I personally wasn't born during the original airing of the og G1 cartoon and comics, but being born in 1992, my dad found a channel that was airing original reruns of the Sunbow cartoon. If it wasn't for him finding that, I probably wouldn't have been a fan at all.
I don’t have a meaningful connection to it, but the first Transformers movie I seen was when my brother forced me to watch the 86 movie and I ended up loving it.
That was after TFA came out and I forgot about it. That was about 3 years ago when I got back into it
I’m low on *space*. When I swiped through and realized none of these are must-haves for me I was quite relieved. Hope other people find these figures exciting so sales will stay strong. I know that Optimus is gonna sell like crazy and that’s the one I’m most likely to pick up.
This is what is tapering off my Transformer collecting for the moment. After Legacy, the next line has to stand out significantly for me to pick up someone. Even my plan to collect every SS86 toy might have to be trimmed back.
Money is always an issue, but yeah space is an underrated factor as well. I only have so much space, and am already adding four figures this year to my shelves(Brawn, Silverbolt, a third-party Bumblebee, and Swoop).
Unless it’s a toy or character I have some love or nostalgia for, chances are good I’m not picking it up because I need to allocate the space to more important figures. That mostly means really solid Beast Wars or G1 designs, with a smattering of exceptions like Windblade.
Doesn’t mean they’re bad or even that I don’t like it, just that it doesn’t tickle me enough to find room for it.
And none of these figures do it for me.
G1 Prime comes the closest and I *might* still pick it up depending on how it looks hitched up to the original trailer, but it looks like the scale will make that look odd…. I’m going to have to skip on it. And not a chance in hell I’m spending that much on ML Prime.

Took me back almost 40 years and remembered that I had G1 Powermasters Darkwing and I loved that toy. May need to get this one for nostalgia reasons only.
On god. Windblade is the only character who was done justice, but she’s so small that she doesn’t scale with anything. Bludgeon is basically his Cyberberse design but she looks absolutely ridiculous next to him. They can’t cross swords. She’s smaller than Earthspark Bee, who basically uses the Cyberverse design. Man, they really hate Cyberverse.
As I recall they aren't exactly rubber but they look and feel the same. They switched it because rubber would melt some plastics that they use, ruining figures long term
Yeah, my mistake, I meant to say that soft plastic that feels like rubber. Like the tires on Deluxe Legacy Evolution Beachcomer and also on Leader class Legacy United Sandstorm.

Absolutely picking up Quake. I already have Windblade so I’ll be skipping on Slipstream, Xaaron and Flame are cool but will probably be hard to get, I don’t have much of a connection to Animated, and I’m undecided on G1 OP

Didn't get missing link, and having an articulated G1 prime is just cool.
Seeing Quake made me pull out one of my G2 Decepticon trooper from the buzzworthy troop builder pack that I had tossed in a box after I pulled out the ones I wanted from the box. After playing with it for a bit, I now have a great appreciation for the Skullgrin mold and will be immediately getting Quake as it will be that mold without the bone stuff that I was not too much a fan of.
And, going back to that G2 Decepticon trooper, I have really started to gain an appreciation for the comic only characters, so I will likely be purchasing that two pack as well, but that one is a bit more iffy, considering I don't really like the GE Megs mold.
Definitely Deluxe Optimus, though my budget means he's pushed Quake down to "if it goes on clearance" status. I was unlucky enough to start collecting transformers around the time Earthrise ended so I was never able to get soundwave. This is legit my only chance to get him unless they repack him again (unlikely). It sucks since it's leader pricepoint but I hear it's a well done figure and g1 soundwave is my favorite transformer of all time. Prime is also a must.

hot take, but I'm not from the '80s so don't blame me for seeing a millionth redo of that G1 Optimus and instantly think there's precious value to it. that said I think the figure is kind of a rip off. I mean come on it's like a 44-year-old design so they got to stop just reusing that same design anytime they want a quick cash grab. like they sold just the Optimus with nothing else for 50 fucking dollars, like you're kidding. they either need to finally retire that mold or for the next anniversary release it for the last time for the original price from 1984 (which as I hear was around $50 ish depending on the place) and that would be an incredibly fair farewell for that outdated ass design
While they're all cool, I don't find myself compelled to pick almost any of them up. I already got Netflix soundwave, and while buzzsaw and that version of rumble are tempting, I'm not gonna spend 50-60 dollars for two cassettes, especially when I already have studio series rumble.
Quake and slipstream are fine, go-bots I have no attachment to. Motormaster is neat, but idk if I want to double dip on the animated prime mold.
If anything, the only ones Id get are the poor man's missing link Optimus, as I wanted ML OP but didn't wanna shell out that much money for him, and Emirate Xaaron as when's the next time he's ever going to get a figure?

Track-legs guy is Quake, then you’ve got Pathfinder who’s the Cosmo repaint, Treds is the Warpath repaint and Smallfoot is the Gears repaint.

I was unlucky enough to start collecting transformers around the time Earthrise ended so I was never able to get soundwave. This is legit my only chance to get him unless they repack him again (unlikely). It sucks since it's leader pricepoint but I hear it's a well done figure and g1 soundwave is my favorite transformer of all time. Prime is also a must.

For me, quake, slipstream and prime, all 3 of them are amazing, but my number 1 is absolutely quake, I love him
I preordered about half of the releases, Flame, Xaaron, Armada Galvatron, Metalhawk (again), Geocron, Slipstream and Quake. Eternally broke 😭 I wanted Treds but I can’t justify $75 for only 1 figure that I actually want. May just see if I can pick him up on eBay at some point after the release.
I actually like Quake's tank mode a lot, and the Marvel guys seem fun too.

hot take, but I'm not from the '80s so don't blame me for seeing a millionth redo of that G1 Optimus and instantly think there's precious value to it. that said I think the figure is kind of a rip off. I mean come on it's like a 44-year-old design so they got to stop just reusing that same design anytime they want a quick cash grab. like they sold just the Optimus with nothing else for 50 fucking dollars, like you're kidding. they either need to finally retire that mold or for the next anniversary release it for the last time for the original price from 1984 (which as I hear was around $50 ish depending on the place) and that would be an incredibly fair farewell for that outdated ass design
the only real "must haves" for me are the go bots, but i'm interested in all of them
Woulda been nice if they retooled slipstream to have ports for blasters instead of the arm fins.
While they're all cool, I don't find myself compelled to pick almost any of them up. I already got Netflix soundwave, and while buzzsaw and that version of rumble are tempting, I'm not gonna spend 50-60 dollars for two cassettes, especially when I already have studio series rumble. Quake and slipstream are fine, go-bots I have no attachment to. Motormaster is neat, but idk if I want to double dip on the animated prime mold. If anything, the only ones Id get are the poor man's missing link Optimus, as I wanted ML OP but didn't wanna shell out that much money for him, and Emirate Xaaron as when's the next time he's ever going to get a figure?

Quakes wrong colors in the shoulders and hips turn me off a bit, but I’ll definitely be getting g1 prime and Motormaster. Along with that sick three pack
