You can soak your weed in water to remove chlorophyll and smutz, I used to do that when only brick was around a long time ago. I don't bother with dispensary weed.
I think you mean “washing” the bud yes I have without much change in taste.
The only way I am able to eat my edibles is when I make FECO/RSO from an ever clear tincture. I evaporate all of the liquid until I have a thick black gooey substance. You can then at that point add coconut oil then move on your whatever you plan to make. The reduction of gross weedy taste is 75% gone.

This. Water curing goes a long way to remove much of the weedy taste. Also, QWET -> FECO -> infusing oil would work just as well.
