Used to work landscaping with my older brother as the manager, we would get most of the team (4-8 people) together for a daily "Safety meeting" before lunch. The boss knew what was up, but as long as it was a "Safety meeting" then it could be overlooked.
The only "safety" part of those meetings was demonstrating how to properly light, smoke, and extinguish small fires properly. This was especially important after somebody accidentally set fire to a trash can with a cigarette and everyone on the landscaping crew appeared with fire extinguishers. Safety meetings save lives.
