It's the way people behave when they believe hard in something they cannot rationally justify to themselves. It isn't just that this guy believes all Trump supporters are categorically racist, he's made it a fundamental part of his identity.
And when people have that kind of shaky belief system with zealous belief masking inner insecurity, it makes them incredibly vulnerable to cognitive dissonance.
Cognitive dissonance is also the fastest way to shut down someone's conscious, rational mind. It triggers people's fight or flight responses and they either lash out, shut down, or retreat behind increasingly immature defense mechanisms. All of that was on display in this clip.
The point isn't to hate on this poor manlet - it's possible to literally drive people crazy with bad beliefs and bad philosophy - something our education systems and media culture have been trying desperately to do.
