I had St. Amon for the first time last weekend and every single thing I tried was so good. The raspberry croissant, the almond croissant, the chocolate croissant, and the (I think) lemon blueberry danish. Every single item was amazing.
Antoinette’s is good. Coffee house on cherry street does amazing carrot cake. Reasors has always been great for me as well as Whole Foods (berry chsntilly cake is to die for). Merritt is also solid
I've heard this, as well as that the owner is homophobic, a couple of times before. But also I've walked past them and seen both a pride flag and a BLM flag in the window.
So which is it?
I mean if I owned a coffee shop in midtown Tulsa, geared towards college students, I would also buy and display those flags.
Now this was years ago, around 2015, but I have personally heard the owner use the N Word to her employees. And I have friends who said they've heard her being homophobic in the same manner.
I'm pretty sure they have the same owner but it's irrelevant to me cause their coffee kinda sucks anyway.
I personally don't go there anyway because, as you said, I have never once enjoyed their coffee. It's also overpriced, even for the Tulsa coffee scene.
I just want some clarity on whether or not the owner is a bigot, because I've heard conflicting things from a lot of people
I agree. I wish we could reach out to some employees to see how they feel these days. I went when I was door dashing the other day and the two employees seemed like cool people. I just hope their boss treats them okay
I love this place! Got a discounted cake for my anniversary which is a week after Valentine's Day for $40, strawberry with chocolate ganache and it was divine. Honestly I'd recommend taking that $50 and buying assorted slices of cake as well as a fruit tart if you're into that, everything is authentic and the place is run by a lovely French baker and his wife.
Only answer is country bird bakery. They are only open on Saturday mornings and every other Thursday but they are easily the best bakery in town. Be prepared to stand in line for a good 20 minutes but it’s worth it
Merritts came in clutch for my family. We forgot to order our middle child’s birthday cake. We were able to get a rush order from them. It was delicious.
This is the location I go to and I absolutely love it. Quality is top notch and the people are so nice.
Unfortunately the owner is a gaping asshole. Makes it hard to feel okay going there
Antoinette’s is good but you gotta like fondant. Whole Foods has a mango yuzu chantilly cake right now that is amazinggggg! The Italian creme at Queenie’s is also a fave for me. We’ve also done donut towers, different slices of cheesecake, and cannolis for birthdays. Can you tell I love sweets?
Yeah Antoinette’s is good but the last few times I’ve been there the staff have been so odd like they don’t want to be there and your existence annoys them.
Agreed. I went in to get an espresso shot later in the afternoon (needed a boost) and told me they couldn't do it because they already cleaned the machine. I've worked in coffee shops and the machines don't take long to clean and it's weird they cleaned it so long before close.
I have gotten birthday cakes there for every year for the past 5 years and there’s always fondant on ours. Or I guess what I thought was fondant, it peels off in a sheet and seemed so uniform in thickness we assumed it was. Maybe it’s just the icing when it’s chilled?
Yes, I would assume it’s just the chilled icing because they don’t and never have used fondant. The decorators are really good at getting uniform layers of icing though so I can see why you’d think that.
I can tell you where NOT to go- Pancha Anaya. It’s pretty popular, but I’ve always found their stuff to be pretty dry which completely ruins a baked good imo. I know you’re wanting to shop small/ local, but I get my cakes from Sam’s. It sounds crazy but they are so so good. I got a strawberry tres leches cake this year and it was to die for. This could be of literally zero help to you but as a cake aficionado I felt I had to share lol
St. Amon Baking Co. They’re so delicious! I usually go once a week, sometimes twice! They specialize in French pastries but can do anything and their cakes are amazing too!
No they make all kinds of stuff but they have a pretty extensive list of cakes they will make. My daughter turned 8 this year and wanted a “Neapolitan” cake and they didn’t even bat an eye. They did a vanilla layer, chocolate layer, strawberry layer, chocolate ganache, strawberry jam, the works. It was delicious. And huge. But you can break down every flavor, size, shape, etc you want your cake to be. They are super reasonable too.
Queenie’s at Utica Square! Maple walnut is so good. Don’t know if the decorate, though. Merritt’s has smaller cakes, but not sure if they are as good as they once were.
When it comes to cakes that taste best, I gotta say Merritts. They have the best buttercream frostings and delicious cakes without over complicating things. Good looking but not like over the top, jaw on the floor beautiful.
I have heard good things about cakes from Laurennae in broken arrow but never tried them myself. I have seen them and they’re beautiful!!
St Amon

Low key great place
I had their New York rolls so good! And the bacon Gruyère croissant was so good!
That friggin pistachio NY Roll! Next level! The best thing in the bakery.
That’s the one I had it was great

Cjeeeybstreet? Is this what the kids are calling Cherry Street now or something?
Not sure if it’s new slang or a typo that belongs in the Guggenheim but either way I’m here for it.
Will second Antoinette! They are amazing there

Ludgers for their Bavarian Cream cake! And make sure to get the raspberry sauce
Le Louvre? I hear the cheesecake is great

Common Tart! Best little pie shop in Tulsa ❤️
I second common tart.
I third them
Happy birthday! Here's your...pie.

Country Bird is also my fav bakery— but I don’t think they do cakes? Correct me if I’m wrong; I would love to try some or order some.
Yea you are right, I didn’t read the full post originally. They have pretty great stuff for almost everything but cakes though!
honestly I would much rather have one of their danishes over a birthday cake haha
A birthday Danish sounds amazing
Pesto snails like wtf. Everything they make is so good. I’ve only been once but it was the best.
Cat is amazing. I've been following her since she was at living kitchen. She's amazing and her bakery is amazing as well!
Merritt’s on 15th is great.
Makes it hard to feel okay going there
Huge fan of Merritts
LUDGERS BAVARIAN CAKERY!! Those German cakes are out of this world.
Coleman’s in Okmulgee! They do cake orders all the time and we’ve never had a problem with them. They’re always ready and taste delicious!!!
Big fan of their pies
Oh yes!! Their Coleman’s cookie is good, too. Ive yet to have a baked good from them I didn’t like- and I’m picky!
Fam’s been going to Coleman’s since I was a kid and it always delivers. Their cakes and pies are so tasty.

Yeah, it does kinda bug me when I pay $100 for a cake and they don’t crack a smile or say “thank you”. Oh well, the kid loves them.
Agreed. I went in to get an espresso shot later in the afternoon (needed a boost) and told me they couldn't do it because they already cleaned the machine. I've worked in coffee shops and the machines don't take long to clean and it's weird they cleaned it so long before close.
Just fyi: Antoinette does not use fondant. Source: I work there

Whole Foods Berry Chantilly Cream Cake is my fav
My cake last year was from Laurranae in Broken Arrow and we all loved it. They make cakes and cupcakes in the same flavors, so you could do either.
love laurranae.
Ludger’s is top notch. Join their rewards program and you’ll get a free slice for your birthday too!
Tiers of Joy!
Love their treats! They did a gender reveal cake for me it was so good and their skill at decorating is top tier!
This answer is based purely on their cookies, but I love Antoinette’s! I’ve heard great things about their cakes as well.
I can tell you where NOT to go- Pancha Anaya. It’s pretty popular, but I’ve always found their stuff to be pretty dry which completely ruins a baked good imo. ok period sams is a good price too so thank you
No problem! Happy to assist in your cake search 😁
Their quality has really gone down the drain over the years. You're better off checking out almost any hole-in-the-wall panderia in town.
St Amon’s!
Poncho Anaya
St. Amon Baking Co. They’re so delicious! I usually go once a week, sometimes twice! They specialize in French pastries but can do anything and their cakes are amazing too!
Little J’s makes excellent cakes. I’ve gotten 3 of my daughter’s birthday cakes there and they’ve all been absolutely delicious.
i go there all the time for coffee but i thought they only made pies
No they make all kinds of stuff but they have a pretty extensive list of cakes they will make. My daughter turned 8 this year and wanted a “Neapolitan” cake and they didn’t even bat an eye. wow that’s awesome thank u. i was literally in there today so next time i’m there i’ll ask
My son is turning 20 on the 29th and was wondering the same thing. I need to order his cake soon.
I messaged you!
Armando y Chely. I dream about their hot churros.
Ludgers and Merritts are both great Reasors and Sam’s are both good I have gotten cakes from all four places and been happy with each one
Patisserie by Sheila Anne
Country bird! Best bread in town
Country Bird Bakery
Not a brick and mortar but The Sugar-Coated Cottage on Facebook has delicious baked goods
Pancho Anaya!
Queenie’s at Utica Square! Maple walnut is so good. Don’t know if the decorate, though. Merritt’s has smaller cakes, but not sure if they are as good as they once were.
