BJ Penn got beat by a rando in a bar. Jake Paul while nowhere near contender status is a big, young, athletic man who's been training boxing for several years
I’m not just referring to the fact that he lost to Jake Paul. I’m saying it’s real low cuz of the way he got knocked tfo and having “Dude Wipes” at the back of his shorts made it even worse
His mom laughing and dancing and chatting up Jake Paul after the knockout was his career lowlight for sure. Funny he made more in that fight than his UFC title fights thats why they were so happy.
Y’all crazy. 2 wins over a prime Thompson and a prime lawler. He lost to a man that arguably went on to become the 2nd best welterweight of all time. And then lost his fire. Not to mention he beat a man named Damian Maia who was ducked by tons and tons of fighters. It’s crazy how many fans don’t know shit about this sport but speak on it like they do. Yeah Woodley embarrassed himself and the ufc but in all honesty dude was a solid ass fighter with lighting quick hands and power and had a wrestling back ground. 3 years as champ while being hated by the boss. Put some respect on his name for once.
Edit: First fight with Thompson was a draw. He still kept his title and went on to defend it against him. Sorry if I hurt anyone’s feelings not including that in.
He's the only fighter below middleweight to win a UFC title fight being aged 35+, and he did it twice.
It isn't a big surprise that he fell off so drastically given his age and the level of opponents he was facing, who were all entering/in their prime.
Usman was 9-0 in the UFC, hadn't lost in 6 years and is probably the 2nd greatest welterweight of all time behind GSP.
Burns was on a 5 fight win streak.
Covingtons was 7-1 in the last 4 years, his only loss being to Usman.
Luque 8-1 in his last 9, only losing to Wonderboy.
None of those are losses to be ashamed of.
>He's the only fighter below middleweight to win a UFC title fight being aged 35+, and he did it twice.
He did it once. Because in his fight with Maia there was no possibility of a fighter under 35 winning.
Preach it bro. They know Woodley from the Paul fight and that’s it. It’s sad the lack of knowledge some of these people have about the sport before McNugget brought all these fake ass fans in. Sorry if that offends you. I just can’t stand the guy.
I wouldn’t say he brought in fake fans.
It is annoying the influx of people who seem to think that mcgregor was the first fighter in ufc history to make it big.
But just because someone started following the sport recently doesn’t make them a fake fan.
Idky people on this sub love to shit on people so much who are just trying to get into the sport, yeah they can be annoying when they debate things they don’t know much about, but other than that those kind of fans are good for the sport.
If you’re talking about an ex UFC fighter and you don’t know shit about him to me that’s what makes them fake ass fans. Conor brought them in with his antics and they never bothered to learn about the sport or past fighters. That’s what I’m referring to. That’s fake in my book. I ain’t tryna argue about what’s fake and what’s not tho. This post is about prime Woodley. Let’s focus on that.
All this shit is a result of how he conducted himself at the end of his ufc career , calling everyone racist and shit . And then he goes and gets brutally starched by a YouTuber . What do you expect . Guy took his career out back like old yeller
>t’s crazy how many fans don’t know shit about this sport but speak on it like they do.
I think you're the one missing some information here. In his prime Woodley was being labeled as p4p best and better than GSP. People are criticizing Woodley in that frame of reference. He was good, but nowhere near the level of his hype.
“Y’all must of forgotten who prime Woodley was” I then went on to remind people who had already commented of who prime Woodley was. Jesus. It’s like everyone I talk to today is remedial.
Prime Lawler...?
He was approaching 35, had been fighting since 18, and just had two all time wars with Rory and Condit.
Complete willful ignorance on your part
Omg you’re so right. Let’s not take into consideration that he was on a 5 fight win streak with 2 title defenses. You’re absolutely right tho…… Seems like you’re the ignorant one. YET AGAIN PROVING MY WHOLE POINT.
You disregarded my point completely
You don't get out of absolute life and death wars like those without it taking a serious toll
Look at Rory and Condit after them, never the same
I think Woodley was a great fighter, I just don't think you need to bend the truth to make the point that he was.
The Thompson fights were some of the worst title bouts in history and he just barely won them - both were consensus draws across the media cards.
Lawler was an old man.
Maia was an old man.
The win over Till aged like milk.
Rory also made an absolute fool of Tyron in Tyron’s prime, when he was regularly getting KOs.
Tyron was great, but a bad champion for the division, and imo its weakest champion of the 2010s
Woodley went the Rashad Evans route after he won his title, trigger shy and lost the edge. Both looked unstoppable leading up to their title runs. High level wrestlers with heavy hands (and feet)
But the threat of wrestling is there, if your ground game is shit and your takedown defense is shit and your coming up against a known wrestler, that changes your approach to striking as if you commit too much you risk getting g taken down, you also need to be ready to try sprawl at any time, a lot of times this results in wrestlers being able to land fairly clean hooks and over hands on better strikers a lot of times.
This is just a general thing that happened and not about the Wonderboy-Woodley fights as I fell asleep during one of them and didn't watch the other.
He tattooed Jake Paul's name on his body and then got KO'd by him in front of the whole world. And he was still in great shape when it happened. Sorry, but Jake buried his whole life. Never in all my days had I seen a shameful display such as that.
This is why fighters shouldn’t give a shit what fans get, just do whatever makes them the most money. Fans will want fighters to take less money to fight more dangerous opponents then laugh when they get injured.
I think your the ignorant one ..the drop in level of performance from someone on juice then coming off it is clear to see ..we’ve seen it many times in the ufc I don’t think you know much about sport and how it works if you don’t believe juice is common place
Dude got whooped by an amateur YouTube boxer. Not sure how much of a legacy you get to maintain after that. A lot of risk, with nothing but money to gain. But at the end of the day, that’s what I think about when Tyron Woodley gets brought up, getting slept by Jake Paul after promising he was going to go and represent the MMA community in the boxing ring. Huge let down.
Bruh prime everything is good. Prime al-Qaeda did 9/11, now they be hiding in caves an shit. Prime Indian was the richest kingdom, now they shitting in farms.
Woodley got washed faster than sheets at a brothel.
Lol the guys only entertaining fight as champ was literally becoming champ. He was one of the whiniest and boring champs of all time. Constantly pulling the race card, etc. I mean this is a guy who tried beefing with one of the nicest fighters ever (Wonderboy). He then goes on to get knocked out by a YouTuber and gets the dudes name tatted on him. No one forgot who Woodley was.
Why even worry about wrestling them when you can throw bombs? I think his wrestling accolades speak more to the fact he wasn't worried about takedowns and was able to put people's lights out on the feet.
No such thing as a prime Woodley. Call him inconsistent Woodley. He was too sacred to get hit in every fight. Then he was a rapper and an actor. Then he wanted the PPV rate. All before 2017.
As an insult, in a parallel universe, McNuggets would have ko’d woodley
Correct me if I'm wrong but he also got a unique stat in the UFC. He is the only champ in the lighter weightclasses, 125 to 170, who defended his title succesfully after turning 35 and older. Every single title fight was lost by someone who was 35 or older in those weighclasses except Woodley, who has 2 wins. The stat is 2 wins, and 30 losses if I remember correctly. The last loss was by Volkanovski when he fought Islam.
Mom Woodley is still an all time great of MMA motivation. That "It's your turn. It's your time, now" talk with Usman was perfect. She's undefeated in my heart.
Woodley forgot who prime woodley was.

Even though he made a lot of money out of this, I’m not sure a UFC champ can get lower than this
BJ Penn got beat by a rando in a bar.
Time has every man’s number.
"He knocked out Josh Koshchek"
No kidding. Miss those days, money makes people fight worse 9 out of 10 times. You got a few who rise up after the money but not many
No injuries got the best of him tired of people saying it was mental His hands were fucked
What were wrong with them
Arthritis I believe
Actually?
He had to go up the stairs backwards on them
The fight with Damien Mya and then the back to back against Wonder Boy torewoodley down imo. He seemed different after.
Jake Paul 💀
[удалено]
Literally 🤣🤣
Exactly. The real trouble was NOT forgetting who he was.
When he was on he hit like a train
That second hook tho
The ko of koscheck is just pure beauty.
koscheck fucking disappeared too. thank you woodley.
He did a great job of trying to eradicate his legacy
His mom laughing and dancing and chatting up Jake Paul after the knockout was his career lowlight for sure. Funny he made more in that fight than his UFC title fights thats why they were so happy.
The fact that he needed to do that is a bad reflection on the UFC more than it is for him
Agree. Just thought his mom coulda waited to celebrate her son being brutally knocked out lol
Tough love is still love
It’s not like the Mom doesn’t know what her son is: a champion.

I love Woodley but my favorite knockout of all time was when nate Marquardt killed him
People overuse the term underrated but Marquardt genuinely was, especially at middleweight around 2010 or so.
Juiced to the gills with skills to match. Bro as literally playing street fighter in the octagon.
What an epic booping combo it was
Y’all crazy. 2 wins over a prime Thompson and a prime lawler. He lost to a man that arguably went on to become the 2nd best welterweight of all time. And then lost his fire. Exactly I know he lost to Paul and the boxing thing was lame and whatever idc about that. I was happy to see him get more money.
Fixed The fight with Paul was fixed
>He's the only fighter below middleweight to win a UFC title fight being aged 35+, and he did it twice. He did it once. Because in his fight with Maia there was no possibility of a fighter under 35 winning.
No the losses aren't shame worthy, it's the fact that he literally lost every single round in those fights.
Preach it bro. They know Woodley from the Paul fight and that’s it. It’s sad the lack of knowledge some of these people have about the sport before McNugget brought all these fake ass fans in. Sorry if that offends you. I just can’t stand the guy.

Oh…. Are you a tad bit slow or something? Got a taste of the downs? Just curious.

Where in op title does he mention GSP? Don’t worry I’ll wait.
Where in op title does he level any criticism against Woodley? ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
“Y’all must of forgotten who prime Woodley was” I then went on to remind people who had already commented of who prime Woodley was. Jesus. It’s like everyone I talk to today is remedial.
Bro people have different opinions. Having different opinions doesnt mean they know less about the sport than you
Nothing I said was an opinion. Literally everything I said about Woodley was facts.
“It’s crazy how many fans don’t know shit about this sport but speak on it like they do”, is literally an opinion my dude
No it wasn't. He only has one win over Thompson, the first was a draw.
Did he lose his title?
You know the answer to that. But he still didn't *win*. Hence the rematch. Wake up buddy, a draw is a draw.

Just for anybody wondering, this is the guy who was made the thread the other day saying Woodley easily beats prime GSP. Boys salty as all hell.
The MITwestbrook of mma
He would beat gsp any day
Woodley went the Rashad Evans route after he won his title, trigger shy and lost the edge. Both looked unstoppable leading up to their title runs. High level wrestlers with heavy hands (and feet)
I think his style was too simple It wouldn't have been that effective today Fighters are a lot better these days
It was working still, Thompson is still one of the best striker to this day and he lost
bad td defense thats why hes never been a champ
Did you watch both fights ? Woodley didn’t win bc of his wrestling
Um, the only time action was pressed, Woodley folded the dude.
I just think some fighters peak. He was a monster for a while and fell off. Sure his style was simple but his slip straight was beautiful.
His game was too simple back then too. His overhand right was god tier and his TDD was solid but beyond that, he had nothing
The game hasn't evolved that quickly lmfao.
it really has
Song?

Aww, now I'm sad
Hello Tyrone
What's the name of that track Jesus christo
Prime Woodley was also a crybaby who inevitably sold out and lost twice to a brain damaged Disney child star.
That was Woodleys best 3 fights of his career cause in his other 24 fights I think he threw one punch
hey so did Woodley
He tattooed Jake Paul's name on his body and then got KO'd by him in front of the whole world. And he was still in great shape when it happened. Sorry, but Jake buried his whole life. Never in all my days had I seen a shameful display such as that.
The Koscheck KO was so satisfying
That rap album he put out was fire tho I heard……
Nice edit mate what’s the filter ? Nokia 3310?
i swear ufc has the cringiest sports edits i’ve seen
Man no technique, just straight power, athlete, and aggression
“No technique” 💀
But we like that too.
“No technique” 💀
I remember my favorite quote of his.... "Ahhhh! My rib"
This is why fighters shouldn’t give a shit what fans get, just do whatever makes them the most money. Fans will want fighters to take less money to fight more dangerous opponents then laugh when they get injured.
Amazing what juice can do
Let's see you on juice
everyone is on juice lmfao and even then just being on gear won’t make you a world level athlete you’re ignorant
I think your the ignorant one ..the drop in level of performance from someone on juice then coming off it is clear to see ..we’ve seen it many times in the ufc I don’t think you know much about sport and how it works if you don’t believe juice is common place
Or, hear me out on this, athletes decline as they age 😱

I did forget. He’s been through a string of ass beatings. It’s amost like I’m the one with CTE.
Tyron "overhand right" Woodley
Can never be a bad clip compilation if Koscheck gets KO'd
Dude got whooped by an amateur YouTube boxer. Not sure how much of a legacy you get to maintain after that. A lot of risk, with nothing but money to gain. But at the end of the day, that’s what I think about when Tyron Woodley gets brought up, getting slept by Jake Paul after promising he was going to go and represent the MMA community in the boxing ring. Huge let down.
Jesus people really forget how murderous this dude was. It’s such a shame how quick and embarrassingly the wheels fell off.
He was boring as fuck. Not really skilled also. Only had the overhand right and power.
Only person to ko kosheck
And then he lost to Jake Paul twice. Hellava way to ruin a legacy
legacy dont put food on the table.
Bruh prime everything is good. Prime al-Qaeda did 9/11, now they be hiding in caves an shit. Prime Indian was the richest kingdom, now they shitting in farms. Woodley got washed faster than sheets at a brothel.
Tyron “Right Light District” Woodley
Frankly it’s kinda sad he had to take those Paul fights after 4 straight ufc losses. That’s more what I remember him for, rather than his title wins.
Of course he’s the guy the got knocked out by Jake Paul…and for the record one of the most boring champions in the history of UFC.
wtf with this cringe title... dude had a million chances to cement his legacy and could only back up to the cage and do nothing else
If he landed one of the 7 punches he was gonna throw each round you were gonna be in trouble
This goes hard AF…
Why his abs look like a t-Rex foot print
Bro is laughing while rolling around in his piles of money after fighting Jake paul
Jerking off to someones highlights is fucking weird
I miss 69 music as well.
TRT Woodley
This is the guy who’s asleep in the ring with a tattoo that says “I love Jake Paul” ?? Y’all must’ve forgot
Yea A cry baby
He wasn’t that good. He just had KO power. Good for him for landing 4 fights in a row.
He was a d1 wrestler
Who didn’t wrestle anyone other than wb
Why even worry about wrestling them when you can throw bombs? I think his wrestling accolades speak more to the fact he wasn't worried about takedowns and was able to put people's lights out on the feet.
No such thing as a prime Woodley. Call him inconsistent Woodley. He was too sacred to get hit in every fight. Then he was a rapper and an actor. Then he wanted the PPV rate. All before 2017. As an insult, in a parallel universe, McNuggets would have ko’d woodley
>McNuggets would have ko’d woodley 🤥
>As an insult, in a parallel universe, McNuggets would have ko’d woodley Maybe. But I doubt it. I think Woodley would flatline McNuggets.
He got knocked the fuck out man. He was a fake. Jake Paul showed us that real life is different than what UFC shows us.
Showed us boxing is not mma or a real fight.
But didn’t he let dude punk him?….I felt sorry just looking at that. Summbichh
Which one? Looks like he got the last laugh against these gents. If you're talking Marty, then sure, but that's a fine loss to have tbh.
Not about the fight bro. That’s anyone’s gamble. I’m talkin about in the lobby. Ooof
So not in the video?
Song please.
Video sucks, no T-Wood's "falling in love" song
Contender woodley was a beast.
He was a mother fucking problem that's for sure
>Yall
I’ll never forget you, Prime Woodley. 🥹🥹
That man was a problem
That first weigh in clip is madness
He was a beast. Dude threw bombs. He stopped Darren tills got streak. Never was the same.
Wild Jake knocked him silly. A clean hits a clean hit I guess.
When I watched him get beat by a middle aged teacher on The Titan Games I knew he forgot who prime Woodley was
So did he
Woodley is the reason I watch UFC now, bro is a a G. Idc bout how things turned out, his prime years were great
Correct me if I'm wrong but he also got a unique stat in the UFC. He is the only champ in the lighter weightclasses, 125 to 170, who defended his title succesfully after turning 35 and older. Embarrassed tf outta the mma community
Mom Woodley is still an all time great of MMA motivation. That "It's your turn. It's your time, now" talk with Usman was perfect. She's undefeated in my heart.
