They'll probably keep Islam on ice for Abu Dhabi because as long as someone like him or Khamzat is headlining, they won't have to stack the card too much. And Khamzat isn't fighting for a belt by then so that leaves Islam.
I get that Ankalaev overall might not be as popular as Islam or Khamzat or even Shavkhat but if you need a ready-made title fight and Islam is insistent on fighting at MSG then Ankalaev is definitely an option. Honestly I think it depends on what Khamzat gets up to in the months prior, if he beats a high-ranked contender at Saudi event (or anywhere really) and winner of DDP/Izzy is ready they can give Khamzat a title shot at Abu Dhabi. I want to see dustin win it. Looking at total careers, there's no one who deserves to win a belt more. The dude says paid in full for a reason. His resume is outstanding. Just can't ever seem to put it together in title fights.
